“Claire is a master. She is so great with dogs. She is a trainer and a dog person through and through. I can't say enough about how helpful she was with indigo during our recent trip. She was fantastic. Easy to work with. The dog came back behaving better and looking better than she did when she went. I'm going to use Claire in the future to do some training as well. I highly encourage anybody to use Claire. But not so much that I can't get in with her anymore!”

“I had a last minute situation where I needed a trustworthy sitter to look after my golden recovering from surgery, Diane did an Incredible job - Leia was obviously very well taken care with all needs met. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again.”

“Destiny did an amazing job taking care of Nova. Nova was very happy there. Destiny included Nova in lots of fun and sent pictures during her stay. Destiny was so kind and understanding of Nova’s needs. We were lucky to find her.”

About: I've had both dogs and cats as family pets most of my life. I love having them around and taking care of them. Enjoy taking them outside and for walks as needed. I have been dog-sitting for friends for years and I have 3 kids who love animals as well. We have a full fenced yard for safe outdoor play. I am happy to personalize care for your pups individual needs and routine. Your pup's safety and care is my top priority. I am currently a Stay at home Parent so my schedule is very flexible. I'll be able to meet your animals schedule needs and will be present with them often during the day. I have a fenced yard and no other animals at home so your pet will be our main focus and will have a safe area to be inside or outside.
“My husband and I boarded our two small dogs with Ying while we travelled out of state recently. He took great care of them and consistently sent us photo and video updates so we could see how they were doing. He was easily able to administer medication for one dog, and was very attentive and accommodating. He has a great space with a very nice yard that they loved hanging out in. He even set up a soft place for them outside to sunbathe, even adding an umbrella for shade! We appreciate his kindness and responsiveness during their stay, and we’ll absolutely re-book in the future. Thanks Ying!”

“Rosie was well taken care of and Nova, Jonathan’s dog, was a great friend for her to hang out with. We were kept well informed and received pictures of Rosie throughout her stay. We will definitely use Jonathan again if we come back to Eugene and need a dog sitter!”

“Pete had another stay with Wilna. When we pulled into the driveway for drop off, he squealed like he was happy to visit friends. And now that he’s home again, he is completely chill. So I know he had a good time. Thanks, Wilna!”

“Cecilia and her family were great. She was very accommodating on pick up/drop off times and responded very quickly to our messages. She also sent several photos of our dog during her stay. Would definitely recommend!”

“Amanda and Matthew did a wonderful job taking care of our dog pepper. We got picture and video updates everyday they had puzzles for her . My feeling is they understand animals because they own so many. This is a quality that I look for in any rover provider somebody who understands animals. She wasn't left alone for 8 hrs a day or crated. And they welcomed our dogs as if she was their own.”

About: I have cared for many family and friends’ pets and am a dog mom myself. I have a spacious fenced backyard and a 11 lb pup for your furry friend to play with, my chiweenie Loki. I work from home and live a couple blocks away from the Amazon trails and dog park. I am very flexible to give your furry friend attention as needed throughout the day. I have a fenced yard I let Loki freely come and go from- and of course your pup would have the same care. I spend a lot of time working in the garden, house projects, and creating art, but my favorite part of the day is playing with Loki. I’m happy to provide whatever care/routine you are looking for.
“Journey was absolutely amazing! I will take Maverick to stay with Journey anytime we are in the area and need a safe and friendly place for him. Maverick was so content and did not appear to be stressed in anyway. 5 golden stars!!”

“Valerie took great care of my Perdi. She sent daily pictures of my girl playing with other dogs and just enjoying life. The setup Valerie has is great and I felt very comfortable leaving Perdi there. I will definitely board with her again in the future.”

“Ruthie was amazing, communicative, sent awesome pictures the whole time, and my dogs loved it. Ruthie even created a little doggie bag to go with a report card review of how great the dogs were. This is a really sweet touch and next time we are in Eugene we will definitely seek out Ruthie and Jolly Olly again - thanks again for everything.”
“My dog had a great time with Cameron and her dog Bo. I was updated daily on the fun they were having. She treated my dog like part of the family. We will definitely use Cameron in the future.”

“She is a lovely lady who cares about the animals she takes in. My two girls (xsm and med) had no complaints. They enjoyed meeting her pooch a few days before and I left that interview with full confidence I didn't need to lose any sleep about my pups staying with a stranger. I booked a 4 days stay and picked up 2 happy animals when it was so over. She has a country home and my pups had more freedom than usual. That was a nice treat for them. She made sure they got their bathroom breaks and followed all my instructions. It was a very good experience. I would happily book with her again if I needed the extra help.”

Can’t say enough good things about Remington! She was just fantastic, took Fluff for me last minute and then I got delayed picking her up and she found a solution for me. She sent lots of pics and kept me updated. Remington is reliable, responsive and her home felt like a warm and safe place for my little gal to lodge. Thank you Remington! 💗

This is the second time that we used Susie. The first time was just overnight, but this was over a week and she was amazing! She was in constant communication with us and sent photos every day. Bowser was very happy to see us but equally excited to want to stay with Susie! We will continue to use Susie whenever we need someone to puppy sit!

Leah was very accommodating, and she was an excellent match for Mason. She honored what was a last-minute request, and she definitely went the extra mile in her accommodations. Mason was well-cared for, had a good time, and I look forward to booking with her again soon!

Once again, Moxie our golden doodle was well cared for and had a safe and loving home stay with Brandy. Brandy has been amazingly graceful in accommodating our disrupted travel. Such a relief for us: giving us peace of mind which contributes to all the other caring that makes her a wonderful, above-and-beyond host!

Cooper is always super excited when he gets to spend some nights at Miles and Athena’s house. He adores Miles and enjoys Athena’s company. Athena is an incredibly sweet and affectionate pup with humans and is kind and respectful of visiting fur friends. It’s very hard for me to leave our pup behind when we leave town and so I’m hugely grateful to have found him such a great dogsitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fir Grove home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fir Grove.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fir Grove sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
