“Jennifer did such a great job of communicating with me from start to finish, checking in with updates and questions about how to best serve my finicky, anxious kitty, Bailey. In fact, she totally won Bailey over, which is something even my family hasn't been able to do! Thanks for being so kind to Bailey, Jennifer! You made my last-minute trip so much easier.”

“Zoe was great! She came over for a meet and greet and rolled with the punches as I ended up getting locked out of the apartment (lol!) She was very respectful of the space and the needs of my dog! She sent pictures and updates and was comfortable getting him in and out of his crate. I will definitely be reaching out to her again to watch my dog!”

“Jamie was super nice. Met with us a few days before the drop in date, spent some time with my dog who loved her right away. We will definitely be asking her to check on him again in the future.”

“5 stars! Chelsea watched my guinea pigs while I was away for a week and was amazing. She sent me adorable pics of them every day and even made their enclosures extra cute and cozy. Super reliable and clearly put a lot of care into everything. I came home to relaxed, happy piggies! I couldn’t have asked for better!💕🐹”

“Sara did a wonderful job taking care of our cat while we were away. We liked that we received messages and photos each time Sara visited so we didn't worry that our cat had been forgotten. We will definitely book with Sara again.”

“Fran is amazing. We always feel at ease leaving our pups in her care. We have a special needs dog that she is great with and gives him his meds. We have had Fran come on many occasions and I will highly recommend her.”

“Alison and Rob did a great job with our cats! Very attentive and they spent a lot of quality time to ensure they were all cared for. Would recommend!”

“We feel so blessed that Rachael was able to care for our dog Ina, and 2 bunnies. She gave them phenomenal care and attention. For the meet and greet Rachael definitely cared about all the details, and was so sweet with Ina. She sent awesome pics each visit, and updated me on all the important things. Thank you Rachael!”

“Michelle is the best! She was able to help me on short notice and my pup loved her! Very attentive, followed care instructions (and beyond), and was an excellent communicator throughout the process from initial booking to after she left. 100/10, would recommend!”

“I never leave my pup with anyone and Adriana made me feel so comfortable and my pup loved her. If I am ever back in the area I would definitely use her again.”

“First time using rover and I really appreciated Bekki's prompt response for a last minute trip for a few days. Bekki kept me updated throughout my time away and took great photos of my sweet kitty. She even brought some extra food for him since I was running low! Although, i didn't get to meet Bekki due to short notice, I would definitely book her again!!!!! Thanks so much Bekki!”

“My cat felt safe interacting and snuggling up to John within minutes of first meeting him, and I think it’s because of John’s calm, intentional, gentle presence and demeanor. I couldn’t believe this is his first time cat-sitting because he was so good with my cat. He was quick to respond and was communicative throughout the visits, and asked many questions to get to know my cat’s routines and preferences. John was so polite and easygoing. He went above and beyond caring for my cat for the weekend, and this was a last minute scheduling given last minute plans. So grateful for John.”

About: I've been working with animals since I was little. I've worked with all sizes of dogs and also have taken care of cats. I've watched senior pets and pets with specific health needs. I also have a formal education in animal behavior as a nice added bonus! I'm currently working part time during the summers and I'm in college the rest of the year. I have plenty of free time to watch your cats. I can do drop in/walks during the week and if you're pet is okay alone more than 4 hours I can also pet sit during the week. I can dog sit any weekend. I only do dog sitting as my home isn't suitable for boarding. I do however reliable transportation and can watch your pet at your home. I also maintain plants and some smaller reptiles/amphibians so I can help keep your house in order while you're away.

“We have had Chelsea care for our cat multiple times now, she was always very reliable and communicative. She sends multiple photos and responds quickly if I have a question. Also our cat, who is a bit of an elderly grouch, likes her and looks forward to her visits!”

“Was great with our dogs and seemed to love her. Came right on time every day and went above and beyond with cleaning up their accidents and tiring them out on their walks and letting us know of any issues or needs. Will use again in the future”

“Meghanne was fantastic taking care of my 14 year old cat, Gizzy. She gave her lots of love and attention, spending a significant amount of time with her on each drop in visit. It really put me at ease having her and her expertise looking out for my "girl".”

About: I’ve had dogs basically my whole life, ranging from just one dog to at one point six in the house that my family and I cared for together. Because of that, I’m comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines, and I understand how important it is to make sure pets feel safe, cared for, and comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I am available Monday through Thursday, since I work weekends Friday through Sunday. That gives me dedicated time during the week to focus on visits, walks, and making sure each pet gets reliable care and attention. For drop-in visits and walks, I care for pets by keeping them comfortable in their usual routine and environment. During drop-in visits, I can provide food and water, bathroom breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention while making sure everything looks normal and they are doing well. During walks, I focus on safe, attentive handling and making sure each dog gets exercise at a pace that fits their needs. I always try to follow the owner’s instructions closely so their pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
