“Bonnie provided the most genuine and compassionate care while I was out of town. From the very start, I felt very comfortable w/ her caring for my dog and she was excellent communicating with me throughout the entire time.”

“Glen made sure our pup got his exercise on some nice afternoon walks while I was traveling for work. He arrived on time and sent a photo each time. Would recommend him!”

“Jackson I 10/10 recommend!! I will be scheduling with him again in the future! As a new user on here I was very skeptical with all of this. I have a big pup who is very hyper-active. He was amazing and very professional with all aspects. From the communication, reassurance, and detailed plan (he will provide). I felt so much better about this process! I know my dog can be a lot for other people but he was a champ!! Thank you so much again! For taking care of my baby as your own✨✨✨✨🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼”

“Heather is always punctual but more importantly engaging with the pet she is there to care for as well as the others just vying for attn. Highly recommend Heather for your 4 legged family members. This message is approved by my pup!”

“Valerie is an amazing and reliable dog walk walker and sitter. One of our pups had gotten sick when she checked on them, and she was comminucative and went above and beyond. I look forward to working with her again! Highly recommend!”

About: I’m a firm believer that no matter the animal, they are family. They’re there for us on our hardest days and deserve more love than we could ever give them. I’ve grown up with animals, mostly cats and dogs, and I worked at a dog daycare for a couple of years. I know more about animals than most people my age and when in doubt, my best friend works at a vet and is one call away! As a licensed EMT-B and student, I have an interesting schedule. My work schedule is on a 2 week rotation so I'm available every other weekend and every other monday. It would be best to connect prior to booking to see how my availibilty fits your needs. Since I have pets of my own, I would feel most comfortable caring for a pet in your home. I’m skilled at reading dog cues and a quick thinker in the event something goes south. If you have any specific needs, I will happily include them during my visits.
About: Your pet will be treated like family with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and personalized care while you're away. I provide safe, attentive, and reliable care so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in good hands. Pet care fits very well into my routine because I have a flexible schedule and work in the gig economy. That allows me to plan my day around the pets I'm caring for, whether that means walks, drop in visits, feeding, playtime, or giving them extra attention and companionship. I enjoy spending time with animals, and I make it a priority to provide reliable, consistent care while keeping owners updated along the way. Because I'll be caring for pets in their own home, my priority is keeping them comfortable by maintaining their normal routine. I'll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and any special care they need. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while respecting your home and keeping everything clean and secure. I'll provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.
About: I’ve had dogs off and on my whole life but I’ve always been a cat person :) For 5 years, I’ve been doing in-home newborn sessions and I always love meeting my clients’ pets! I’m comfortable with all types of dogs and am a safe and reliable care taker. My photoshoots are typically 10am-2pm, so I’m available for drop-ins most other times. I can take pups for walks, do feeds and bathroom chores, and give your pets attention :) My portrait clients trust me to come into their home and handle their newborns, so you can be sure I will treat your home and pets with respect.
About: My family raised Rottweilers growing up at a young age. I eventually had my own American bulldog during college and frequently watch my friend's English Mastiff. I have a unique schedule in which I typically only work every third day, so days off I am more than able to take care of your dog! From long walks to all the cuddles, let me make sure your furry friend is taken care of! I work every third day for 24 hours, so on my days off I am more than able to help pet sit or walk your dog throughout the entire time I am off. I am typically available even on short notice as long as it is a day I am not scheduled to work. I have a large townhouse with plenty of nearby walking trails and forest preserves, as well as a very large sectional for cuddles! Whatever your pet prefers, I can accommodate. From playing with their toys to getting extra treats, your dog will be loved just as if they were my own.
About: I strive to cater to each pet's specific needs while providing a reliable service. Over the years, I have cared for dogs of all sizes, reptiles, rabbits, and cats. I've had success with training dogs not to pull when being walked, but I am currently not an accredited trainer. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I am normally available on weekdays in the morning and afternoon. I am open to offering my services outside of those hours on a case by case basis, pending availability. I am happy to go over any guidelines regarding pet care, house/yard access, and pet activities during a meet a greet prior to the first visit. I'm a big believer of talking to pets, walking them as much as needed, playing with them, and challenging them mentally. When possible I prefer to walk dogs in a park or on a nature path instead of in a concrete jungle.
About: I am in the health care field and have sometimes wondered why I did not decide to be a veterinarian! I grew up taking care of dogs my whole life. My boyfriend and I adopted a kitten in January of 2023 and adopted a dog in April of 2023. I've been a pet sitter for friends and family for the past several years. I also have experience and steadfast patience with highly energetic/anxious dogs. Animals are one of the greatest joys in life! I would be honored to take amazing care of your fur-mily member(s). I currently work full time, but work 4 10 hour days, so I am available 1 day during the week (Wednesday’s) and weekends. I can also do visits before or after my job any day of the week. I can work around your schedule and needs. I currently have a dog and cat at my home that are spoiled with love, affection, toys and treats. I'd love to give your pet the same treatment. I can feed, water, clean litterboxes, take dogs out to go potty, give plenty of playtime, take them for walks, and fulfill any other requests you may have.
About: I’ve handled pets of my own and have provided at home care for friends or family members my whole life. When needed I’ve boarded animals at my own home for friends or family. There’s nothing like a good break with furry friends that helps the day go by. Currently I have a flexible scheduled and enjoy the opportunity. I always make sure that animals are given loving attention. It’s important that they are provided with the bathroom, sleeping and toy accommodations they deserve and the exercise they need. I understand the need for routine.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for pets and understand how important it is to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s personality and needs. I can help with walking, feeding, playtime, administering basic care, and making sure pets feel calm and loved while their owners are away. I always prioritize safety, routine, and clear communication with pet parents. I provide reliable and attentive pet care services tailored to each pet’s needs. My services may include dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, refreshing water, litter box cleaning, and companionship. I also make sure pets stay mentally and physically stimulated through playtime, enrichment activities, and gentle exercise. My goal is to help pets feel comfortable, safe, and happy while their owners are away I have experience caring for pets both personally and for family and friends. I have cared for cats and dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Through this experience, I’ve learned the importance of patience, consistency, and paying attention to each pet’s behavior and needs. I understand how important trust is when someone leaves their pet in another person’s care, and I always treat every pet with kindness, responsibility, and genuine affection.
About: I am passionate about animal husbandry. I have had extensive training in the care of dogs, horses, cats, small mammals, fish and birds. I've an associate's degree in equine science (horses). I've had hands on experience since I was 9 years old handling horses and dogs/cats plus any other precious critter I could care for. I know dog breeds, and cat breeds and the ingrained traits they are born with. I've had bite prevention training and have had the privilege of working with so many wonderful breeds! It's becoming hard to even have a favorite breed when they are all so fascinating in there own way..meaning I love them all big or small! I am accepting dog walking jobs on weekends and then as my availability becomes open I will modify my schedule, and at times be accepting same day bookings. I'm flexible to the situation and the homeowners comfort level and needs. Playtime and exercise are big in my home. I regularly clean up after my pets and have no problem cleaning messes.

About: Hi! I’m Megan, a trail-loving mom and lifelong animal lover who finds any excuse to be outside, especially when the leaves start changing and the crisp fall air rolls in. I’ve grown up with pets, from cuddly cats to an energetic Siberian Husky who taught me all about patience, play, and the importance of a good walk! These days, I volunteer at local animal shelters and love providing thoughtful, attentive care to both dogs and cats. I know fall adventures look different for every pet, so I’m happy to adjust to their needs. Whether that means a leisurely walk through the colorful leaves, some extra playtime in the backyard, enrichment time indoors where it's cozy and comfortable, or simply some companionship while you're away, your pet’s safety and happiness always come first. Whether it’s a drop-in visit, a crisp fall walk, or some quality one-on-one attention, I treat every pet like family. I believe in clear communication, dependable care, and making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. My goal is to give them a fun, enriching experience while helping you enjoy peace of mind. I'm looking forward to making this fall full of happy walks, colorful adventures, wagging tails, and plenty of cozy memories! I’m typically available after 2:00 PM on weekdays, but there is flexibility. If you're looking for afternoon or early evening care, I’d love to help! I provide calm, loving care in your pet’s own space, keeping their routine and comfort top priority. Whether it's playtime, feedings, walks, or just quiet company, I make sure your pet feels safe, seen, and well-loved while you're away. 🧽 I also understand that accidents can happen, simple potty cleanups during a visit are always included. For larger messes that require extra time, I offer optional cleanup services: $10 Basic Cleanup: Removing soiled bedding, wiping up big pieces or puddles, and getting your pet set up with fresh bedding. $25 Deep Clean: More involved cleaning when there’s a substantial mess that needs extra time and care. These options help me keep your pet clean and comfortable while also staying on schedule for all my visits.

Clay was absolutely amazing with my dog Maxie! He was so sweet and patient with him, especially since Maxie has some anxiety. He always took the time to sit with him and make sure he was comfortable before leaving. I got updates and pictures every day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I seriously can’t recommend Clay enough! He took such great care of Maxie and I would definitely book with him again!

Kaiden did a great job walking and caring for my two dogs. I just had a baby so I needed some help tending to my dogs. Kaiden came for a week. He was punctual and was able to use the halti collar when needed because sometimes my dogs can be reactive and both are 50+ lbs. Would definitely use Kaiden again!

Maryna did an amazing job pet sitting for our pup. She spent over an hour on the first day allowing our dog to get used to her. She was on time each day twice a day to walk our dog and made sure she had plenty of snacks. We really appreciate the updates while we were out and will definitely look to rebook in the future. Thanks again for the care you shared to our dog!!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
