“Kimberly was amazing with our crazy dog! We just moved and he was a bit anxious, but he loved her! She even offered to sew up one of the things he tore up in his kennel! She is so sweet and kept me informed on how my crazy little boy was doing while I was at work! I will definitely book her again!”

“Caitlin saved the day with a last minute walk when things went awry at home. Sansa loves her walks and Caitlin is an amazing communicator. Thank you…you are a blessing!”

“Super easy to work with and I feel 100% comfortable leaving my dog in Kate’s care. She lets me know when she has walked and sends a picture. She is a Mom herself and understands that we can worry about our fur babies.”

“Kassandra is marvelous! She's friendly, kind, and very reliable. My dogs adore her! She's been a great help while I've been recovering from surgery; her dog walking has made Birdie and Gracie so much happier and calmer. I would use her services again in a minute!”
About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, with over 35 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds, including dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, and fish. I currently have a 6 year old furry dog baby of my own, Violet, a Basenji/Terrier mix, so I fully understand the daily needs, routines, and personalities that come with pet ownership. In addition to my own pets, I’ve regularly cared for neighbors and family members’ dogs and cats - providing feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. I’m comfortable with different temperaments and always aim to make pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I work full-time from home, which allows me the flexibility to take breaks throughout the day for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and check-ins. This means your pet will receive consistent, reliable care without long gaps in attention. I’m available during weekdays with flexible daytime scheduling, as well as weekends. I do my best to accommodate routines so your pet’s schedule stays as normal and stress-free as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every home with respect and follow all instructions closely to ensure your pet stays in a familiar, secure environment. I’m attentive to details like feeding routines, leash safety, and making sure doors and gates are secure at all times. I also pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, adjusting my approach to match their personality. You can expect dependable care, clear communication, and regular updates with photos so you always feel confident your pet is in good hands. :)
“We are still so happy to have Jenny as our dog walker. The care and attention she gives our babies is unparalleled! Jenny is easy to communicate with, flexible, and thoughtful.”

About: I've been caring for animals for over 12 years, starting with my own dog, Lola. Since both of my parents worked, I was often responsible for feeding her, taking her on walks, playing with her, and making sure she was well cared for. That experience taught me responsibility from a young age and helped me develop a genuine love for animals. Since then, I've cared for pets for friends, family, and neighbors, including dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. I am currently home for the summer, which means my availability is very flexible and I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets. Once summer ends, I will be continuing my pilot training and taking online courses through Lewis University. Even then, my schedule will remain flexible, allowing me to continue providing reliable and attentive care for your pets. I have a fenced yard and one dog of my own, Phoebe, who is incredibly friendly and loves being around other dogs. She can play all day long and does a great job helping other dogs feel comfortable in a new environment! If your pet will be staying in my home, I would be more than happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand so they can get to know Phoebe and make sure everyone is a good fit. Your pet's safety and well being are always my top priorities, and I will follow any routines or instructions you provide to help them feel right at home!
“Grace was amazing handling my German Shepard, My dog is sweet but can be intimidating. He is strong and will bark at other dogs on walks so I always worry a little if people will be comfortable walking him. Grace was awesome with him and put me at ease. I’m so glad I found her to help me out and would use her again!”

About: My energy to match each animal is above many other sitters. I love to stay active and go on adventures. Snuggle time and training time is equally important. If your pet loves attention, then we will be a great match. I worked in a Shelter/Daycare and loved every minute of it. I am currently taking care of 2 elderly clients in their home part-time and would love to fill my time with your precious family pet. I would be unable to take your pet in my home at this time. My preference would be in your home which is more comfortable for your pet. OVER 30 MILES TRAVEL +$10 EACH WAY.
About: I have had pets all my life and I absolutely love caring for them, playing with them, all of it. I've had lots of experience with cats and dogs of all sizes and activity levels. (i grew up with 2 pugs and have my own cat as well as a german puppy and 2-year-old rescue mutt at home) I am punctual and a very caring and patient person. I'd love to spend my life working with animals and I feel like this could be a good start for me ! my availability is super flexible so if need be we can figure out a schedule that works for both of us and fits well into our busy lives ! I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets ! As of right now, I am currently unemployed and not in school or training either so I have wide open availability to work with you ! I'm unfortunately not able to care for pets in my own home but I am willing to make any accommodations for your pet(s), big or small as I have worked with a variety of animals with a variety of needs/temperaments.
About: Hi! I’m Megan, a trail-loving mom and lifelong animal lover who finds any excuse to be outside, especially during the long, sunny days of summer. I’ve grown up with pets, from cuddly cats to an energetic Siberian Husky who taught me all about patience, play, and the importance of a good walk! These days, I volunteer at local animal shelters and love providing thoughtful, attentive care to both dogs and cats. I know summer adventures look different for every pet, so I’m happy to adjust to their needs. Whether that means a leisurely walk with plenty of shade and water breaks, a playful backyard visit, enrichment time indoors where it's cool and comfortable, or simply some extra companionship while you're away, your pet’s safety and happiness always come first. Whether it’s a drop-in visit, a summer walk, or some quality one-on-one attention, I treat every pet like family. I believe in clear communication, dependable care, and making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. My goal is to give them a fun, enriching experience while helping you enjoy peace of mind. Let’s make this summer full of wagging tails, sunny adventures, and plenty of happy memories! I’m typically available after 2:00 PM on weekdays, but there is flexibility. If you're looking for afternoon or early evening care, I’d love to help! I provide calm, loving care in your pet’s own space, keeping their routine and comfort top priority. Whether it's playtime, feedings, walks, or just quiet company, I make sure your pet feels safe, seen, and well-loved while you're away. 🧽 I also understand that accidents can happen, simple potty cleanups during a visit are always included. For larger messes that require extra time, I offer optional cleanup services: $10 Basic Cleanup: Removing soiled bedding, wiping up big pieces or puddles, and getting your pet set up with fresh bedding. $25 Deep Clean: More involved cleaning when there’s a substantial mess that needs extra time and care. These options help me keep your pet clean and comfortable while also staying on schedule for all my visits.
“We (and our dog) love Jackie! She always does a fabulous job taking care of our dog while we are gone, and she makes sure he has everything he needs between her visits. She sends us great updates so we never worry about him. Thank you as always, Jackie!!”

About: I have regularly dog-sat for a couple different families in my neighborhood for two years. In my experience, I have only been asked to check in on them a few times a day to play with them, let them outside, and feed them. One of the dogs I cared for needed medications twice a day, so I have experience with that. I’ve only had experience with boarding a dog once, but it was successful! The sweet little dog slept in my bed with me. I don’t mind having a big dog sleep on my bed, though, as my own dog is a cuddly 80-lb Labrador. Walking dogs is something I love to do because I enjoy being outside and getting exercise! I have been walking dogs for years because I have always had one in my home. I love meeting and playing with dogs of all sizes; I have never been afraid of them! Since I was a little girl, I have enjoyed playing with my own dogs, as well as ones I would see outdoors. I just graduated college, so I’m home & trying to figure out a job, but my schedule is open as of now. I will be working part-time for my dad, but those hours are not set yet. I am used to taking dogs out to go potty with or without a fenced-in yard. I can put a harness on a dog for walks, and I can put them in a crate when I leave (if preferred by owner).
“Thanks for your help Adam! I really appreciate it! Yes you’ll be hearing from us again. 😊 🐾 They were happy to see me but I could tell they were “pooped” out from the walk. Thanks again!”
The median cost per walk for dog walking in Mooseheart is $20
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mooseheart
Morgan was fantastic! She came reliably as promised, on time every day we agreed on for the week of dog walking. Her communication was excellent, and she worked very well with our somewhat challenging dogs, showing patience, persistence, and creativity to get them to trust her. She walked them for the full hour I had asked for, even though the weather was very hot and humid. But she showed good judgement on the day that a thunderstorm hit during the walk, and my dogs were scared of the storm. That day she wisely brought them home early. She communicated all of this very clearly and in a timely manner, using Rover report cards immediately after every walk. I hope we have another opportunity to have Morgan care for our pets, because she did such an excellent job.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
