“Susan did an outstanding job taking care of Lucy during our time away. She arrived exactly on time for each drop-in visit, communicated clearly and consistently, and kept us well informed throughout. Lucy is a Belgian Malinois with plenty of energy, and Susan handled her confidently and professionally. It was clear Lucy was well cared for and comfortable in her care. We truly appreciated her reliability and attention to detail. I would absolutely recommend Susan to anyone looking for dependable, high-quality care for their pet.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities for over 20 years. As a neonatal nurse practitioner, providing attentive, compassionate care is part of who I am, and I bring that same level of responsibility and love to every pet I watch. I’m the proud owner of Kona, my friendly 9-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix, and I have two young children who have grown up around dogs and are gentle and respectful with animals. Because of my flexible schedule, I’m available most days of the week and can provide plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and have always loved taking care of animals. I have experience with dog and cat sitting, as well as some experience with dog training. I currently have two Border Collies and a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, so I’m very comfortable with high-energy dogs and keeping them active and entertained. I know every pet is different, and I’ll make sure your pet gets the same care, attention, and love I’d give my own. 🐾 I currently work part-time at a local restaurant, but my schedule is pretty flexible, so I can easily work around pet care. I’m also taking college classes online, which gives me the flexibility to be available wherever I am. This makes it easy for me to give your pet plenty of time and attention! I take the safety and well-being of my own pets very seriously, and I would give your pet that same level of care. I’ll make sure they are safe, comfortable, and properly cared for while they’re with me, treating them with the same responsibility and attention I would give my own pets.
“Maura was wonderful. She was so attentive and sent amazing pictures. She’s reliable and has amazing communication. I will absolutely be using her in the future and I recommend her 100%!”

“Skylar was great with my cat Rudy. He was well taken care of and just hearing him purr in the videos she sent me reassured me he was fine. I highly recommend Skylar to help with your cat or dog. She’s a real pet person!”

About: Hi! I’m Robert. I’ve had animals all my life (dogs, cats, fish, lizards, hermit crabs, raised praying mantids and butterflies). I trap and spay/neuter feral cats (TNR), feed birds, planted a pollinator garden in my yard…love nature and appreciate the relationship between humans and animals. My small dog Tyson is 11 or 12 years old and has some special needs (anxiety, hip-problems, blind in one eye, and I am his 3rd owner), so I know patience and compassion when it comes to senior dogs. Two of my cats I’ve had since they were kittens, and the third cat was abandoned by a neighbor and chose me as her new human when they left her. Happy to accommodate your companion’s special needs, and will be honest with you if there is something I don’t feel confident about. I also use two water fountain bowls, so your friend will have access to clean, moving water. I am a bar tender and have been doing that work since 2006, 12 years at my current bar. I work part time there and have a good amount of free-time which I can use to take care of of your dog. I have a large fenced in yard (176 ft of 6ft tall wooden fence) with plenty of shade, water bowls, central air and heating. Pets are free to lounge anywhere in my house, but I do prefer dogs to be crated if I am away for their own safety, and peace of mind for me :) Please let me know if you have any rules you have for your pets at home, feeding schedule, potty-break schedule, etc.
“Alicia has been incredible since I’ve gotten my first puppy. She’s helped ease so much of my stress and has gone above and beyond. My pup definitely loves her and misses her when she’s gone.”

“My pups love Devon! I also foster and she’s up for taking care of 3 dogs if I need her to. She is easy to communicate with, reliable, and provides great care for my pups. Highly recommend!”

“I was very happy with the services Tiffany provided watching our cats while we were out of town. One of our cats went into hiding and she went above and beyond trying to find her her. She reported in every day with pictures and stayed in touch with me throughout our time away. I'll definitely use Tiffany again for any future trips out of town.”

About: I have had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember. I took care of our dog for at least 5 years up until he passed away. I have been learning to train dogs as well. I currently work full time, Monday through Friday, and I have extra time and love to give to dogs that need a place to stay. I have a partially fenced in yard that is on the process of being fixed/finished. I can easily separate dogs if needed. I will provide walks as long as weather permits.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Elyria with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
