Lorain County Pet Care

*covered by both Rover and personal PCI insurance! My name is Kimberly and I am currently 31 years old - I have been taking care of all kinds of animals since I was a child, however I moved to working with dogs professionally at the age of 20; I have enjoyed every moment since! My husband & I recently moved to Elyria however we previously lived in Cleveland Heights where I worked at a local dog boarding and daycare center where I was responsible for the well being of upwards of 35-50 dogs, ensuring each and every dog was able to relax in their new environment, providing all meals and medication as well as ensuring the safety of all social dogs in a group together. This position gave me the most valuable knowledge possible and has solidified my idea that stress free care is one of the most important things I can do for the pets entrusted in my care. My husband & I currently own 3 cats and they are all our world and best friends; while I love all animals, dogs are my true passion however and I have extensive experience with many different breeds, sizes, temperaments, energy drives, worker breeds/service dogs, etc. I am also able to provide you with the comfort of knowing all medications and health needs will be met, as I have plenty of experience providing care for senior/health compromised dogs that follow a strict medication/feeding schedule. I am very comfortable with administering shots, pill shoots as well as old fashion 'pilling' a dog with some PB!

The only person I contacted that responded, was available and showed up to meet my pup on the date we set. My girl loved her immediately and I felt very comfortable leaving her for the day while I got my infusion. Being anxiety free for that is so important and her obvious love for dogs made that possible. She did everything I asked, including sneaking out of the back door when she had to leave for a little bit, so my dog wouldn't have separation anxiety. Very sweet and left the cutest little polaroid picture! Would gladly hire her again if she's available for my next one.

Kimberly is phenomenal. She was consistently in touch and sent tons of photos so I never had to worry about what was going on in my absence. It was obvious my senior dog was happy and well cared for while I was gone, which made it easier for me to relax and enjoy the time away. Can’t wait to rebook!

Schedule

After the pandemic and working an office job remotely for 2 years, I have stepped aside from that life and am looking to focus more on spending my days enjoying my passion: taking care of your pup and creating a relaxed, stress free experience for you both. I have a background in customer service so bringing you peace of mind, going above and beyond, and creating special experiences is something im happy to be able to do! This is my full time position so you don't need to worry about my schedule pulling me in different directions; there is extra security with my dog experienced/dog obsessed husband being close by and able to help in an kind of possible emergency that might keep me from my usual schedule. I treat house-sitting as if I am working from home and I will not be away from your pets for longer than 4-5hrs at a time, and am happy to/prefer to spend the night so your pet/home aren't alone or unsupervised.

I would love to hear as much about your dog as possible before we get to meet; any issues that you deem important will automatically be important to me. I would also love to know any/all the ways I can make your pup happy and comfortable with me. I require: notice for all females in heat as well as intact males, that all pets be up to date on flea/tick treatment and that if walks are preferred/required then all dogs must have good leash manners. It would be nice to know if: your dog has ever gotten aggressive while you were away (anxiety does not equal a bad dog!), if they have any food or toy possessiveness, if there are any areas that your dog does not like touched, as well as any "quirks" that are unique to your pup! *Cameras in your home are allowed, however failing to disclose locations of all in home cameras can result in a cancellation with no refund.* I am most comfortable and knowledgeable with "bully breeds" such as Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, Corsos, Mastiffs, etc as well as all Retrieving breeds (Flat Coats & Goldens are my favorites) and Spaniels. Please contact me if you have a bully breed or large breed dog that other sitters may find intimidating, as I am often the sitter that is happy to help you when others can/will not!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
