About: My pet care experience began when I joined a humane society volunteer program where I worked for 6 years and became a shift lead. Later, I worked at a doggy daycare and overnight pet hotel. There I worked with specific dog’s needs and care as well as managed a group of up to 60 free-roaming dogs (yes, it was as amazing as it sounds) I have worked as a pet sitter and dog walker for most of my life, and I have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I have also worked with horses for most of my life and in the summers I care for horses on a large farm. They are pretty much a bunch of big, funny, puppies. I am formally trained in: -Dog first aide and CPR -Dog, cat, and small animal body language and care -Dog Bathing -Basic obedience training I am currently a recent WWU graduate working a part-time job. Being in my gap year after school, most of my time is flexible and social. I’m looking to fill some of my free time working with cute pets! While I do have a good foundation in general pet care, pet safety, and dog behavior, I prioritize the individual needs of the dog. I may have experience with many pets but no one knows your dog better than you. Care, to me, is about open communication and making sure your pup is happy!

Many neighbors, friends, and community members rely on me to care for their pets, which include dogs, cats, and other cherished creatures. I have years of experience working with reactive dogs, as my own dog struggles with reactivity. I have administered medication to various animals and have probably spent hours of my life cleaning pet-made messes! I am a Western student and will be away from Bellingham, visiting home from early July through the end of August. As soon as I am home, which is in Tacoma, I will be able to provide services there! I am accustomed to spending long stretches of time at clients' homes, adapting to the rhythms of pets' schedules, staying overnight if needed. I always settle in slowly, with gentle movements, to help the pet feel at ease when I am around. This is their home, and I'm a guest in it!

She set up a helpful routine with our asthmatic cat who needs daily medication that made it a less stressful experience, and went above and beyond providing play, cuddles, and keeping us well-informed with a detailed description and many great photos at every check-in. Our cats are our babies so we don't like leaving them, but we felt we could breathe easily leaving them in Flannery's capable hands. Will definitely hire again for future pet-sitting needs!”

I have a roommate at home as well who loves pups and has one of her own (a chihuahua) and is there usually when I am not, and is more than willing to help out :) Very walkable neighborhood and dog toys in the apartment! Grassy area outside for quick access to the bathroom and the apartment is kept clean and dogs are allowed on furniture and allowed to free roam the apartment.
