“They did an amazing job . I’m glad my cat(Casper) wasn’t shy to come out, he actually was outside to greet them. I really liked the updated pictures and updates. You both did a great job !”

About: I’m a big dog lover and would love to spend time with your fur babies! As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone you feel comfortable trusting with your pets. Whether your pup loves going on walks, playing with their favorite toys, or simply relaxing and getting cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away! 🐾 I have a flexible schedule and love being able to give pets the time and attention they deserve! I’m happy to coordinate with you to find what works best for your pup and make sure their routine is as comfortable and consistent as possible. My goal is to make things easy for you and ensure your dog feels cared for, gets plenty of attention, and has a great time while you’re away! 🤍 Leaving your pup with someone new can be difficult, and I want you to feel confident that you’re choosing the right person! As a dog mom to two pups, including a senior dog with one eye, I understand that every dog deserves care that fits their personality, comfort level, and needs. I take that responsibility seriously and will make sure your pup feels safe, loved, and well cared for. I’m always happy to share pictures and updates so you can relax knowing your little best friend is doing well!
About: I’ve taken care of pets as long as I can remember. I’ve used to have fish, hamsters, dogs, and cats all running around my house. My parents used to breed Golden Retrievers, so I have experience training and caring for young pups. My house has always been a haven for animals. I’ve nursed all kinds of animals back to health and been a safe place for stray animals to stay until I’ve found their rightful owners. I have experience feeding, cleaning, putting diapers on, and administering medication to pets. I know it’s hard trusting others with your pets! I hope to ease your worries and make new pet friends. I have open availability as I am currently in between jobs. I’m not looking to board, as I have pets of my own at home. I am patient and kind with all animals. I’m familiar with having pets with unique needs. I’m most comfortable with cats and big dogs. Let me know your pets quirks and I’ll be happy to accommodate to their needs.
“Britney did so good with our dogs! She truly cares and will do all she needs to assure our dogs are feeling well. We appreciate knowing our dogs were in great hands while we were away. Definitely would recommend Britney to anyone looking for an excellent dog sitter!”

“Alyssa is such an amazing sitter and caregiver! My 6 month GSD/Malinois mix is very energetic and can be a handful as he learns his commands and works through training but that didnt mind Alyssa! She helped reinforce his trainings during her time with him and although it took a few, he became acclimated to her and listened. Alyssa must be an animal whisperer! I am so happy we have found our "go to" sitter for Jefe! I cannot thank you enough as its very difficult for me to leave my little babes. You make it easy! ❤️”

About: I have had dogs all my life and promise to take care of yours as I would my own. We are a reliable and safe dog loving home. I work from home and have a flexible schedule to care for your pet/pets. I am available during the week and weekends. Once you are our customer, we do our very best to be available when you need a sitter (we know how hard it is to find someone you feel comfortable with and can trust.) I have lived in my home for well over 20 years and am extremely reliable. I have a fenced patio with a doggy door as an option for your pet. My Yorkshire mix is friendly to other dogs. The house is secure and the neighborhood is safe.
About: Hi there! I have 6+ years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds and ages, providing walking, feeding, bathing, and more. My home is extremely pet-friendly as I have a 6 year mini doodle (Benzi!) that loves to socialize with other pets (if yours permits). He has a slight favoritism for dogs bigger than him but he welcomes all friends. I've had Benzi since 2020 and trained him myself as we were locked in quarantine together. Make a circle with your arms and say "Circus!" to Benzi, and he'll jump through your hoop hands (it's his party trick). I've cared for my friends and family's dogs (and one cat) as they were on long periods of break or holidays. He is up-to-date on all vaccines including Canine Covid and Canine Influenza. I walk Benzi twice a day, in the morning from 8-9:30am to the evening 7pm - 8:30pm. I take him out to pee/poo additional around 2-3:30p. I feed Benzi after each walk. Since I WFH, during my own breaks, Benzi and I play around and I ensure he gets stimulated and tired from play. If he doesn’t want to play and wants to sleep, I respect that. Benzi meets other dogs in the neighborhood and plays with them, as well as greeting neighbors. I ensure that the home I own is pet-friendly. Everything is non-toxic for animals — plants, cleaners, etc. I do not have a yard or a fence, but I live on the third floor of a gated community that is extremely animal friendly and has other dogs living here.

About: I have been around dogs ever since I was born, having two of my own. I have pet sit for family and friends before. I potty-trained my own dog as a puppy at the age of eight, as well as tricks like sitting and staying. I’m also quite fond of cats and have had less experience with them, but am more than happy to provide cat care. Monday-Friday I have football practice from 3-7, so anytime before or after I am free. I am currently working on freeing up my Saturdays and Sundays, so hours will change. If I am in your home I will be sure to respect your privacy and will only access what you as an owner want me to be around. My only focus will be your pet and making sure they receive what you have requested.

“I can’t say enough nice things about Cristina! She is professional and very detail oriented. It is clear that Cristina really knows what she’s doing and that she enjoys it. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to have peace of mind leaving their dog in the hands of a caring, capable professional.”

About: I have always grown up around a lot of animals. I love them and find it easy to communicate with them. I can pick up when a dog is uncomfortable and know how to work with dogs that are shy.I train animals with no punishment methods only reward system. I think every animal is very unique, not all are meant to be handled with the same care. I have full availability, love to play and spend time with animals. I’m pretty active so love taking them on adventures, I tend to do Murphy ranch trail regularly and greenway trail begins 1 street down if you prefer 1 environment over the other :) . I have a sectioned off fenced backyard with a pool, the indoor has a large open spaced living room with plenty of walking room for all sized pets. I want to make sure the pet feels comfortable and has its favorite items and food/treat of preference to feel safe
“Dakota was very trustworthy and my mind was at ease knowing he will tend to my babies while I’m away. He updated me with pictures and was very communicative. My dogs hate strangers but they were able to quickly warm up to him. I will definitely reach out to him in the future. I’d recommend him to anyone!”

“We had a great first drop by with Allycia. I know I sent way too many instructions/details, but she handled everything and took a lot of stress off of us. She knows how to handle the dogs and we appreciated the updates and the pics. Thanks Allycia!”
About: I’ve had puppies and dogs and cats all my life and have my own two cats and German shepherd/husky and German shepherd/Malinois. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East La Mirada
We booked with Kayla for a second time, this time slightly longer than the last. Kayla was great, she followed all our special care instructions for our pup and she was really good with Hannah, giving her lots of attention and affection. We will continue to book with Kayla and encourage other pet parents to book her as well.

This was my first time using a pet sitter for drop-in visits rather than boarding, and I’m so thankful Sugey was available on such short notice! She took the time to do a meet-and-greet a couple of days beforehand, which I felt was beneficial for all of us, especially our cat. Sugey went above and beyond, kept me updated, and even sent pictures during her visits, which gave me peace of mind. I truly appreciated her care and attentiveness and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter! I would definitely book her again to care for our cat.

Kristina is very patient and loving with our senior once feral cat. Scamper is very wary of people and slow to trust. However, Kristina never gives up on trying to make that connection with Scamper. Scamper was born on Mother’s Day in our backyard. She has just started trusting us enough to come into the house in the last two years. Kristina works with Scamper to build the trust between them. She is soft spoken and takes her time with Scamper. I trust that she will do the very best for Scamper. I appreciate her so much!

Britney took great care of our pups while we were out of town. We did a quick meet and greet before the visit and she was super nice and friendly. She gave us daily updates and photos, which we appreciated. She was always on time and very communicative. We’d gladly have her watch our 2 dogs again!

Alexis was absolutely fantastic. As a first time Rover user, I was a little nervous, but she immediately put my mind at ease. She took great care of my Shiba Inu, Bob, while following my instructions perfectly. She even noticed a small detail I'd overlooked in my notes, which really speaks to how attentive she is. Most importantly, my dog had an incredible time and was clearly comfortable with her. He genuinely seemed a little disappointed when it was time for her to leave! I would book Alexis again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who will care for their dog and home as if they were her own.
Arika did an incredible job taking care of Orion, our cat while we were away for a week. She brushed him every day, brought interesting toys for him to try out, and gave him lots of amazing care and attention! She even sent pix and videos. She also did small details like bring in the mail and even asked if we needed plants to be watered. She ended up watering our garden boxes which kept our plants alive while we were away. We would highly recommend Arika! She is kind and very professional and we were so happy that our cat had such great care.

My dog has been struggling with a severe flea infestation, and my doctor said that flea exposure is a big no no for me. Layla has been patient with my dog (he’s touchy) and had thoroughly cleaned him of his fleas. There is a noticeable improvement in his mood and itching.

Connie did an incredible job checking in on our cats!! She followed our instructions well on how to feed, clean up, and play with our boys which we really appreciated! She provided details on how each visit went and even shared photos and videos with us! She was gentle in every interaction and I know that my cats really enjoyed her company 😻 We truly felt at ease being away because we knew they were in good hands!! If you want someone attentive and reliable for drop-ins, Connie is your person. ☺️

Naylea took such a good care of my cat Sundance, who needs an inhaler twice a day. Naylea put in an effort to learn how to administer the dose and also kept me posted on Sundance s condition. She is detail oriented and noticed an incident when the automatic feeder might not have worked properly on the last day of her visit. I appreciate her photos and communication. It meant a lot to me. Sundance was happy to see her during each visit.

Emilia was absolutely fantastic. She walked two dogs I’m currently sitting for, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly experienced with handling multiple dogs at once. What stood out most was the level of care and attention she gave them. She sent photos during the walk, which was incredibly reassuring and thoughtful. You could tell the dogs were comfortable, engaged, and genuinely enjoying their time with her. When they came back, they were perfectly tired in the best way—calm, happy, and clearly well-exercised. That alone speaks volumes about the quality of her walk and how well she managed their energy. It’s not easy trusting someone else with animals in your care, but Emilia made it effortless. I would absolutely use her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, attentive, and professional dog walker.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
