Kelli was a total trooper and went above and beyond what I hired her to do, which was just check in on my elderly pups while I took a me day to hike with friends. For some reason the lock on my side gate failed after she took one of them on a walk. We eventually sorted it out but Kelli was kind enough to stay with my girls while I tried to get a neighbor to help since I was 1.5hrs away in the mountains. Through out the whole ordeal Kelli was super patient and understanding, a total angel.

Sarah was wonderful with Suki! It was her first time with her, and Suki was nervous, but Sarah made her feel comfortable and on the second day she even gave Sarah kisses! Also love the fact that when she came for a meet and greet, she asked me if there was anything specific I needed her to do when she came by for a drop-in. She was very professional and on time! Highly recommend!

My experience includes working at various pet hotels, where I provided loving, attentive care. Animals bring me joy, and I’m passionate about ensuring they feel safe, happy, and well-cared for every day. My pup that I had for 16 years passed in March 2024 and I can’t find the heart to get another pet of my own, but I would love to help others take care of theirs. I work from home and I’m very flexible. I also have reliable transportation, it is also a large vehicle so I am able to transport large dogs/pet equipment I have a very large property that is fully enclosed and double gated… The front gate facing the street is an iron 6 foot gate.

Emilia was absolutely fantastic. She walked two dogs I’m currently sitting for, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly experienced with handling multiple dogs at once. What stood out most was the level of care and attention she gave them. She sent photos during the walk, which was incredibly reassuring and thoughtful. You could tell the dogs were comfortable, engaged, and genuinely enjoying their time with her. When they came back, they were perfectly tired in the best way—calm, happy, and clearly well-exercised. That alone speaks volumes about the quality of her walk and how well she managed their energy. It’s not easy trusting someone else with animals in your care, but Emilia made it effortless. I would absolutely use her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, attentive, and professional dog walker.

My experience includes fostering a stray cat, successfully rehabilitating it, and providing a loving home for its better life. Additionally, my family has had five dogs and five cats over the years, which has given me extensive experience in animal care and reinforced my comfort and enjoyment in being around pets. About: I have been caring for dogs my entire life — it’s not just something I do, it’s who I am. I currently have two boys of my own: Basil, a French Bulldog, and Cashew, a Morkie. I also regularly care for a German Shepherd, a Chihuahua, and several other breeds, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. From puppies to seniors, I understand that every dog has its own personality and needs. Your pup will be loved, watched closely, and treated like one of my own. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule that fits pet care naturally into my day. I’m available for dog walks in the evenings and for boarding or sitting on weekends. I also have availability during school breaks and holidays, so I’m a reliable option when you need coverage during those busy times. The safety of every pet in my care is my top priority. At my home, I have a dedicated fenced-off area just for dogs, so they have a secure space to move around freely. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I do a full walkthrough to make sure all doors, gates, and exits are secured before letting any pup roam. I stay hyper-aware and attentive at all times — your pet won’t just be watched, they’ll be genuinely looked after.

Ashley is simply amazing! My husband and I have two very cute (but also very high maintenance) senior kitties. We recently went out of town for the weekend and we were lucky enough to have Ashley look after our kitties. Ashley was always on time. During her visit, she shared photos and updates so we knew our kitties were well fed and taken care of. Ashley went above and beyond to make sure our kitties were comfortable during her visits and even set them up so they had great napping spaces throughout the day. It is such a great feeling knowing that you have someone to CARE for your pets when you are gone and are not there to just do the bare minimum. I highly recommend Ashley as a sitter or walker for your pets!

About: Animals have always been family in my home. I had a Terrier who I cared for throughout every stage of life into their elderly years, which gave me experience with senior dog care, patience, and understanding changing needs as dogs age. I’ve also spent a lot of time around other family dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and anxiety needs. I understand that every dog has their own temperament and comfort level, and I make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for like part of the family. Whether a dog is playful and energetic or shy and anxious, I’m patient, attentive, and focused on creating a calm environment where they can feel comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home, so I am almost always home with the dogs. I absolutely love dogs and enjoy giving them attention and affection. My home is very family-oriented, and pets are treated like part of the family. I will be the primary caregiver at all times but there will be tons of love from my family as well. I have a fully enclosed fenced backyard where dogs can safely play, run around, and get fresh air. I also enjoy taking dogs on walks around Uptown or to local parks for exercise, stimulation, and fun. Since I spend most of my time at home, I am able to provide consistent care, potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, and a calm, loving environment where dogs can feel comfortable and cared for. I provide loving, attentive care for pets both in my home and in my clients’ homes. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. In my home, pets are treated like family and have a safe, comfortable environment with access to our fully enclosed fenced backyard for exercise and outdoor time. I make sure every dog feels comfortable, secure, and cared for based on their individual personality and needs. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, dog sitting, and boarding. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, anxious, or a senior needing extra patience, I focus on creating a calm, caring experience and keeping pet parents updated for peace of mind.

I needed Chloe to let the dogs out so they could relieve themselves and play with her because maintenance was supposed to be working in the back and the dogs couldn’t be outside while they were there. Chloe did what was asked and administered one of my dog’s glaucoma medications, which she is familiar with after staying with them for over a week. Needless to say, Chloe is punctual, reliable, and trust worthy. She is now our go-to dog sitter/house sitter.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Whittier stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whittier. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
