“Felicitas was absolutely amazing! We needed a sitter last minute to check in on our dog while out of town, and she was very accommodating. She sent us lots of videos during each check in visit, and we felt very comfortable leaving our fur baby in her care. Our golden doodle Benny absolutely loved her and we will definitely book with her again :)”

About: Hello! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly enjoy caring for them. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me for years to help with feeding, walks, check-ins, medications, playtime, and overnight care. I’m reliable, detail oriented, and patient, and I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities. As both a pet owner and healthcare trained professional (prior military), I prioritize safety, communication, and making pets feel comfortable and loved while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, feeding care, and check-ins throughout the day. I do my best to maintain each pet’s normal routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m dependable with communication, punctuality, and following detailed care instructions for each pet’s individual needs I care for every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize safety, comfort, and consistency. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medications, walks, litter box routines, and any household rules or special instructions provided by owners. I understand that both cats and dogs have different personalities and comfort levels, so I take a calm, patient approach to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I also provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind so you always know your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for (if requested).

About: A lifelong love of animals and professional experience caring for them, including running a kennel/cattery for nearly six years, fostering dogs, and providing in-home pet (and farm) sitting. I work a full-time day job, but I'm free evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exceptions are on a case-by-case basis with advanced notice of at least two days. I am willing to stay overnight with your pet. Willing to negotiate special pricing. I’m comfortable caring for pets with all kinds of personalities and needs, including providing baths, medications, playtime, special feeding, and plenty of companionship. I understand that every pet has their own routine and temperament, and I take the time to get to know each one. Strong preference for smoke-free homes.

About: I've taken care of pets from dogs to lizards since I was 12, and have been doing drop-ins and house-sitting for family, friends, and my community for as long as I've been able to drive. I'm able to give meds for older dogs with more needs, and have trained my own dogs well in obedience training, so I have plenty of experience with a firm voice for more unruly dogs that need a little extra attention. I'm good with all animals (even the wild ones), and have experience caring for animals that need to stay separated, and am willing and able to adapt to any family I need. I currently am between jobs, the only duty I have is taking care of my own pets (amd occasionally younger siblings) so I have plenty of time to look after and care for pets I have a gentle hand and a firm voice, and have experience with obedience-training dogs particularly, and have faith in my ability to care for even the more unruly of pets. I am comfortable with crate-training and crate-trained dogs, as well as shutting them in their own room when no one is present in the home. I also have good leash experience, so walks would be easy and comfortable for me.

About: I have always loved being around animals and have always lived with cats and dogs. If I see an animal at a function I immediately v line it straight to them. I currently have a 7 and 5 year old lab. I am a stay at home mom to a baby so my days are free! Helping your fur babies also helps me get out of the house! If your animal is not child friendly please let me know and I can make arrangements! When dropping in for animals I make sure to love on them inside but also outside to get their energy out. For walks I let them stop and sniff for however long they like!

“Simply put, Rodney was over-the-top phenomenal. He seemed to know, inherently, that we were worried sick over leaving our 3 fur babies alone for 4 days. His detailed and inclusive daily notes and pictures gave us a piece of mind we were not expecting but were so grateful to have. He spent time with our dogs, fed them (sometimes by hand when necessary), played with them, sat and pet/groomed them twice a day and they quickly took to him. And these dogs rarely take to anyone new. He definitely has the Midas touch. We are rebooking with (only) Rodney again in December. Honestly, we couldn’t imagine leaving our keys with anyone else.”

About: I love helping people and if that means caring for their fur babies while they’re gone, then I’m more than happy to help! I’m always the first person my friends/family call when they need a sitter! I work at a dental office so I have more than enough time after work to care for pets! I will be in school starting the end of August so I’ll have even more time! I have 2 cats that are strictly indoor. They are fed Costco rotisserie chicken every morning and dry food in the evening. I also take them on walks in their backpack as long as the weather is nice.

About: I have had pets most of my life from hermit crabs to dogs. I love them so much that I decided to do pet sitting and dog walking. I have watched friends and families pets while they went on vacation. I also have worked as a Pet Care Specialist at the PetHotel for PetSmart for 3 years and enjoyed interacting with all the dogs and cats in our care. My family is military and when we were stationed in New Jersey, I regularly offered pet sitting for many military families that can attest for my quality of care. After moving from New Jersey to here in Virginia I worked at care a lot pet supplies in the boarding and daycare section for 2 years and then ended working at a vet office in the kennel. I love all kinds of pets and I am not afraid to take care of any kind as I personally have 3 dogs , 4 Australian tree frogs , 6 crested geckos, spiders, 3 ball pythons, a bunny, 6 rats, 4 leopard geckos, hissing cockroaches, chickens, pixie frog, 75 gallon freshwater aquarium, 470 gallon pond, betta fish, and a uromastyx. I am a stay at home mom with school aged kids. My schedule is very flexible throughout the week and weekends. Can coordinate with pet parent to schedule a routine to meet their needs. I have a large, fenced yard for dogs to roam and to play in. I am available to visit my clients’ homes to offer all necessary care needed for their pets (ex. Walks, feeding, provide medication, etc.)

About: I’ve grown up around pets my entire life, especially pit bulls, and I’m very comfortable caring for strong, energetic, and affectionate dogs. I understand the importance of structure, patience, and positive reinforcement, and I treat every dog with the same love and respect I give my own. In addition to dogs, I’ve also cared for two beautiful tuxedo cats, so I’m familiar with meeting cats where they are—whether they’re playful, independent, or just want a quiet companion. Having pets of my own has taught me how important trust, routine, and attention are, and I always make sure animals feel safe, loved, and at home while in my care. I work from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be fully present for the pets in my care. Because I’m home throughout the day, I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. I can easily adjust my day to match your pet’s routine, whether that includes early morning walks, mid-day check-ins, medication reminders, or extra cuddle time. My flexible work-from-home schedule also allows me to respond quickly to any needs that come up and gives me the freedom to focus on keeping pets comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I live in a pet-friendly apartment community with plenty of dogs and a designated dog park, which provides a safe and social environment for pets to get exercise and enrichment. I always supervise playtime at the dog park and only allow interactions that are positive and appropriate for each pet’s temperament and comfort level. In my home, I maintain a clean, calm, and pet-safe environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, medications, and any special instructions provided by owners. Pets are never left unattended outside, and I ensure doors, leashes, and gates are always secure. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and stick to their pet’s established routine to minimize stress. I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners feel confident and at ease while they’re away. Whether in my home or yours, I treat every pet with patience, attentiveness, and the same level of care I would want for my own animals.

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 14, caring for pets both in my own home and in their homes while their families are away. Over the years, I’ve gained plenty of experience making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your furry family members! I work from 8:00 AM–5:30 PM on weekdays, but I have a lengthy break during the day that gives me flexibility for walks, drop-ins, potty breaks, and plenty of attention. My evenings and weekends are also more flexible, allowing me to spend extra time making sure your pet gets the care, companionship, and exercise they need! Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have two friendly dogs of my own who are used to sharing their space and making new friends. I also have an extra set of hands with my fiancé, Tyler, who is just as much of an animal lover as I am! When caring for pets in their own home, I’m happy to follow their usual routines as closely as possible so they can stay comfortable in their familiar environment.

About: I grew up on a small farm in the Maryland agricultural reserve and have experience caring for animals big and small, from dogs and cats to sheep and emus! You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and treat your pet like they’re my own. I’m grateful that my work schedule as an environmental scientist is flexible and remote. It’s easy for me to prioritize pet care to fit within your schedule. While caring for your pet, I promise to treat your home as well as your fur baby with care and respect. About: I love animals, and I would love to start getting out of my house more. I have been taking care of pets since I was 12, and would love to get back into it. I am good at basic training things such as : sit, stay, lay down, and I can also teach them to play dead. I don't mind feeding them or bathing them either. I can't wait to meet your fury companions! I have two littles and would love for us to start getting out of the house. I am basically always free, and would love to take care of your fury family members! I have fenced yard if I were to have your pet at my home. I also have a female dog who is super energetic while outside. I own a dog crate as well, just in case. Depending what I am booked for, I love to play with all pets. Usually if I have time during a booking I will play and give pets to my clients as if they were my own.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - East Hampton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
