“This was our first time using Rover and Laurelyn was amazing! She gave us peace of mind watching our elderly dog while we were gone for a week. She administered his medicine, helped him get up steps, sent lots of pictures with great feedback after every visit. Her communication is excellent! We will be using her again and sharing her info with our friends! Thank you so much Laurelyn!”

“Felicitas did an amazing job taking care of my doggos. Both of them looked like they were loved and well taken cared of when we got home from vacation. My doggos loved her instantly and weren’t as stressed when we were gone.”

“For us, it was the first time leaving our kitties for two weeks with a pet sitter. We needed to find a person that inspired trust and that our kittens we not afraid of during the first contact. We found that and much more with Maecen. When she came to meet our family, my kitties acted as if she was one of us. They let her pet them and rubbed against her legs, GREAT SIGN. Then, during our trip, we loved seeing all the pictures and visit summaries she sent us. But most importantly, we noticed how well cared for our pets were every time she came to see them. Maecen is sweet, kind and great at doing all the chores she completed. She was also amazing with play time and providing a safe environment for them. Thank you Maecen from the bottom of our hearts, and we will be booking more of your time for every vacation we take. Lola and Tomas will be delighted to have you 🤩☺️”

About: Hi! I've worked with a lot of different sizes and breeds, as well as different temperaments when it comes to dogs and cats. I can also administer medications and take care of exotic fish or other animals if needed. A little bit about me: I am a very calm, patient, and dependable person with 5 lovely dogs between my husband and I( I had 3 and he had 2 when we met!). I’m a former RN currently at home while finishing up my Doctorate. I would love to get back in to walking, drop-in visits, and recently decided to try out out doggy daycare. We have a nice big backyard! I am open to learning and providing your pup with any accommodations that they may need during my visits and/or their stay. I understand how important it is to make sure they feel safe and loved. Feel free to ask any questions. I look forward to working with you! *I do have a toddler at home most days, so it is important that your dog is friendly with children when considering doggy day care. She will not join me for drop on visits or walks! I do my best to provide service at the times requested. I am very dependable, however I may suggest an alternate time if there is a conflict. I will make it work! I am very organized and respectful when making a visit to a pet parents home. I also make sure doors are locked and light are off when I leave.
“Jasmine did fabulous with our little doggie. Fitz can be very scared and skittish when meeting new people. Jasmine was so kind and patient to earn his trust. She left detailed messages of how he was doing and adorable pictures!”

“Megan is the best dog sitter we’ve ever had. She went above and beyond to take great care of our dog during a busy holiday week. You won’t regret choosing her! Thanks Megan.”

“I’ll definitely be hiring Danielle again! She took great care of my cats while I was out of town, and she even brought my trash cans in from the curb lol.”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and love caring for pets of all kinds! I’ve helped care for stray cats and dogs growing up, have pet sitting experience, and I’m currently a cat mom myself. I’ll always make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away :) I work full-time, but I’m available after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. I enjoy using my free time to care for pets, go on walks, and give them attention while owners are away. I live in an apartment with my own furbaby and I’m willing to go sit at your place or check in on the animals when needed.
About: Growing up, my grandmother fostered litters of puppies and their moms until they were old enough to be adopted. I spent a lot of time volunteering alongside her and learned how to train puppies. While I'm not a professional, I do understand the mechanics of positive enforcement. I have a boxer puppy who will be 1 year old in February and have trained him to walk nicely on a leash as well as other commands. I'm a shift supervisor at Starbucks that works about 30 hours a week. I typically work afternoons and therefore would be available to walk or sit mornings-early afternoons. I have a fenced in yard with doggy doors that can either be open to provide the pup with access to the backyard, or closed to ensure your dog won't get into unsupervised trouble. I also have two gates that separate the home and can add extra separation between animals or other needs.
“This was our first time using Rover or trusting anyone other than family with our pets. Shelbie immediately made us feel at ease with how attentive, professional and friendly she was with us and our pets. She was on top of everything and gave our pets quality care and love while we were gone! She provided thoughtful updates and helped our pets feel comfortable and come out of their shells. For the first time ever we were able to take a vacation and have peace of mind. I highly recommend her as a sitter!!”

About: I grew up with multiple family dogs, so I’ve been around dogs most of my life. I look at all animals like they are part of my own family. I am a nurse, so after caring for people all day- my therapy includes being around animals. I would love to serve you and your pet by caring for them while you are away and giving you peace of mind knowing they are being spoiled and loved on during my visit with them. I am available for dog walks, stopping by to let them potty and get some energy out, throwing the frisbee, belly rubs, or anything else they might need! Also, I would gladly text you photo updates if requested! I am a nurse & my shifts usually end in the early afternoon and I am off most weekends! My weekly schedule is very consistent. I will care for your pet just as I would my own! I will make sure all of your needs are met for your pet to assure that they are well taken care of while you are away.

“I cannot say enough about Dawn. She is very kind. I have an active Australian shepherd/ lab mix and needed some help for several days while dealing with family issue out of home. Dawn took to Penny super quick and I loved the visit summary and pics. I am sure Penny misses her already but I will definitely contact her again when needed. 5+ stars!!”

About: Hi there! I’m Tori! I’ve been pet sitting dogs, cats, and small animals since I was young since my parents were allergic and I simply HAD to get my animal fix! I’ve spent the last 3 years working as the primary scheduling coordinator, administrator, and in home boarder for a million dollar professional dog walking and pet sitting company in the Raleigh, NC but am now living in the Hampton, VA area with my sister and loving all that the sunshine and beaches have to offer. I’d love to connect and see how I can best offer your furry best friend the love they need while you are away. I have professional experience with dog walking, drop in petsitting, and boarding in my home. I can administer medications and have worked with puppies and senior dogs. I do require a meet and greet before services can begin as it’s very important to me that you and your pet can get familiar with me and I them so the first time I enter your home is not the first time we are meeting. Additionally I ask that you do disclose any prior history of aggression for both my safety and the well being of your pet. I am not a trainer nor do I have experience with aggressive animals. I truly believe that our pets are family and I sincerely hope to establish a long lasting relationship with both you and your pet where we become family too! I’m currently on the hunt for a remote job after I moved to the Hampton area from Raleigh, NC. My days are pretty flexible when I am not traveling so I have plenty of time to love on your pet! I do not have any pets of my own currently which is why I’d love to come hang out with yours! I require a meet and greet ahead of time to ensure everyone is comfortable!
About: I have spent the better part of my life committed to the care of animals, I love them and hope to use my skills and innate passion to be a blessing to someone. I am currently working and going to school online so this provides me with a very flexible schedule with all oddities of availability for you and your pet. I have an extra large fenced in yard, live alone and have an amazing dachshund named, "Koko." He is an old boy and doesn't mind the company. I am a big advocate of cuddles, praise and sticking to training measures in place by an owner. I respect these animals and it really rewards me to see them happy, safe and healthy!

Felicitas was great! Stepped in at the last minute and made time to learn all about my cats before we left town. Very communicative - lots of pictures and a video every day. They were well cared for and clearly loved. I can't imagine ever leaving town again without having Felicitas come back to look after my fur babies.
Laurelyn treats our senior pet like she would her own. She’s really patient and took the time to get to know our cat. She sends lots of reassuring pictures and details about his mood, eating and bathroom habits if little changes come up. We really appreciate her.
Ashley did such an amazing job taking care of our 2 cats, Nala & Luna!! She followed my instructions for their meds & food to a T! Both cats loved her & enjoyed their extra attention, treats, & playtime while we were away for a week! Ashley also brought any mail or packages in & took our trash & recycle out to the curb on pickup day. I thoroughly enjoyed all the updates & pictures at every drop in visit! We will definitely be having Ashley watch Nala & Luna again!! :)
Penelope was able to step in and help us last minute when we learned our previous sitter had moved right before a trip. She followed all our instructions and was always timely with her visits. Even though our little guy can be spicy she took it in stride and he was in great spirits when we returned! We’ll always be grateful she gave us peace of mind while traveling.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Hampton. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
