About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and love caring for pets of all kinds! I’ve helped care for stray cats and dogs growing up, have pet sitting experience, and I’m currently a cat mom myself. I’ll always make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away :) I work full-time, but I’m available after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. I enjoy using my free time to care for pets, go on walks, and give them attention while owners are away. I live in an apartment with my own furbaby and I’m willing to go sit at your place or check in on the animals when needed.
“Ashley went above and beyond while dropping in to check on our two cats while we were away!!! She had consistently great communication and photos, went the extra mile in every aspect, and displayed genuine care for them. We could not imagine recommending anybody else after our experience with Ashley!!”

About: I’m currently active duty Air Force, newly stationed in Hampton, VA. Since I can’t have pets in the dorms, caring for yours is the next best thing and honestly, it makes my day every time I get to spend time with animals. Before moving here, I volunteered for several years at nonprofit rescues that specialize in disabled and special-needs animals. My responsibilities included feeding, bathing, cleaning kennels and litter boxes, refreshing bedding, and making sure each animal got individual attention and affection. I also assisted with basic grooming, gentle handling for nervous pets, and light training reinforcement during play or walks. Since moving to Virginia, I’ve been volunteering at The Cat Corner in Hampton, where I work exclusively with cats. I help with feeding, litter changes, sanitizing enclosures, and socializing cats to prepare them for adoption. It’s helped me become especially good at reading feline body language and handling shy or anxious cats. I also have experience with house sitting, dog sitting, cat sitting, and snake sitting, so I’m very comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique personality and routine. Whether that means sticking to a feeding schedule, going for long walks, keeping up with playtime, or sending regular photo updates. I always make sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for while their people are away. When I’m not working or volunteering, I love spending time outdoors, reading, cooking, going to the gym, and exploring Virginia. I’m also working toward becoming a lawyer while continuing my military career and of course, always finding ways to stay close to animals and help those in need. I’d love to help care for your pets like they’re my own with patience, reliability, flexibility, and plenty of love. I’m currently in the military, so my schedule varies often. However I am more than able to take care of your fur babies either in the morning, afternoon, and the evening. I am more than happy to care for your pets at your home, however my cats are still adjusting to getting adopted! I will keep your baby on their schedule with eating and using the restroom, but if you’d like anything else added, please don’t hesitate!
“Sara is awesome! She connected with the family dog and took care of his routine of injections and eyedrops easily. They’re already buddies! She’s prompt and great at keeping the communication lines open. Thanks Sara!”

“Shelbie is by far the best dog sitter we have used. She stayed in contact, gave our dog his med, went the extra mile like making sure the tv was on for the dogs to make them feel Better.”

“Claire was just outstanding. She took care of my kitty like she was her own. She went above and beyond to interact with her, scratch her, let her spend extra time outside on the sunny days, and was all-around a great sitter. I would have Claire watch Smudge again in a heartbeat.”

Fort Monroe cat parents share their Rover experiences
Laurelyn helped us out on short notice in an holiday weekend. Our cat can be finicky with his meds and she worked well with him. She was also conscious about being on time with her visits and kept good communication with us. I would definitely ask her to take care of our baby in the future.
I have never seen our sassy bird take to someone as quickly as Ashley, he was putty in her hands when most of my family still can’t pick him up! She was extremely good about communicating with us which put us at ease knowing he was getting great care when we were far away. She kept his cage tidy and we could tell in the pictures how much he was enjoying his visits. We can’t recommend her enough and would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Penelope was able to step in and help us last minute when we learned our previous sitter had moved right before a trip. She followed all our instructions and was always timely with her visits. Even though our little guy can be spicy she took it in stride and he was in great spirits when we returned! We’ll always be grateful she gave us peace of mind while traveling.

This was our first time using Rover or trusting anyone other than family with our pets. Shelbie immediately made us feel at ease with how attentive, professional and friendly she was with us and our pets. She was on top of everything and gave our pets quality care and love while we were gone! She provided thoughtful updates and helped our pets feel comfortable and come out of their shells. For the first time ever we were able to take a vacation and have peace of mind. I highly recommend her as a sitter!!
