“Abby was responsible and trustworthy. She took good care of our young and energetic dog, taking her on walks and play dates with other dogs. We arrived home from a week out of town and the house and yard had been well cared for. I would recommend her and would be happy to employ her again down the road.”

I would highly recommend Ally for pet/house sitting! 10/10!!!”

About: I have been trusted with pet and house care since I was around 10 years old, I truly treat every animal I watch as my own. I am comfortable with caring for multiple pets at a time and have experience caring for newborn kittens with health complications, senior animals, and special needs animals. I will typically build my days around pet care. My only time constraints at the time are two classes this upcoming fall term (starts around September 20th). I will have lots of time to dedicate to your fur babies. I am happy to follow the routines, instructions, and typical practices for your animal(s) in your home. I always make an effort to respect the space, communicate clearly and often, and provide care you can trust.
About: I'm a lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for my own two dogs, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding each dog's unique personality. With my second dog especially, I took an active role in training and behavior development, learning how to use positive reinforcement and establish routines that help dogs feel secure and happy. I regularly help friends by providing midday potty breaks and companionship for their dogs when they're at work or traveling. This has given me experience with different breeds, temperaments, and household routines. I understand how important it is to follow each pet's specific schedule, respect house rules, and provide the attention and exercise they're used to. I know that every dog is different - some need lots of playtime and stimulation, while others prefer quiet companionship. I'm comfortable with basic commands, can recognize signs of stress or discomfort, and always prioritize the pet's safety and well-being above all else. I currently work part-time, which gives me excellent flexibility for pet care services. I'm available every weekday after 3pm and have full availability on weekends. This schedule works perfectly for dog walks, evening pet visits, and weekend pet sitting when families are traveling. My part-time work arrangement means I can be consistent and reliable with your pet's routine. Whether you need daily walks, midday check-ins, or weekend care, I can accommodate regular schedules and provide the consistency that pets thrive on. I'm also available for last-minute requests when my schedule allows. I understand that pets need care even when their families are working full days, and my afternoon and weekend availability is ideal for busy pet parents who want to ensure their furry family members get attention and exercise while they're away. During pet check-ins, I focus on making sure each animal gets the individual attention and care they need. I always let dogs spend as much time outside as they want - whether that's a quick potty break or a longer play session in the yard. I pay attention to their energy level and preferences that day. I believe quality time is just as important as meeting basic needs, so I make sure to engage with each pet through play, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. For more active dogs, I'm happy to take them on short walks during my visit to give them extra exercise and mental stimulation. I follow the specific instructions and routines that pet parents provide, but I also adapt to what the pet seems to need in the moment. Some days they might want to play fetch, other days they just want someone to sit with them. I always make sure they have fresh water, food if needed, and that they seem comfortable and content before I leave. I provide updates to pet parents so they know how their furry family member is doing, including any highlights from our time together.
“Alyssa stayed the weekend with my labs at my house and I am so grateful for her help and respect of my home/schedule with the labs. She sent some pics to update me on the pups and was a great communicator. Came home to a house as clean as I left it and very happy labs. Would definitely recommend!”

“Ashley followed all of the specifics I shared about my anxious pup and updated me about her eating her meals when I asked. She also followed the various instructions for my house and was communicative when any issues arose. She was very in tune with my dog’s behavioral cues and understood when to push and when to leave her alone. She was willing to hand feed my dog to get her to start eating and to try various tricks to entice her to go on a walk. If you have a dog who has a harder time with separation, Ashley would definitely be good for them :).”

“Abram cared for our pups and house like they were his own. He clarified care to ensure he did things like our labs were used to and was very respectful. I felt so reassured with him at my house while I was out of town! I highly recommend Abram’s services and will be utilizing his care again in the future 🙌🐾”

“Connie is very kind and patient with our dog Rue. Being a senior dog, he comes with many needs that other dogs do not. She took everything in stride and gave him lots of love & attention. We received many updates throughout the day which helps if you’re feeling anxious about leaving your pet. We highly recommend her.”

“Kaitlyn was absolutely wonderful . She not only took great care of our two French Bulldogs and elderly kitty, she was a great communicator providing daily updates. Additionally she took care of the house and property . We came home to happy dogs and cat as well as a clean home . I hope to use Kaitlyn in the future and highly recommend Kaitlyn to anyone that values their fur babies!”

About: I believe every animal is someone's loved one and a cherished part of the family. That's why I treat every animal I meet with the same love and care I'd want for my own. Whether I’m stopping by to keep your loved one company or taking them on a hike with me for an adventure, I promise to keep your family member safe, happy and loved! I’ve taken care of many types of animals as I grew up on a ranch with many dogs, cats, horses, chickens and goats around. I have trained numerous dogs throughout my childhood and have loved every single one along the way. I have pet sat for many family members and friends, keeping the pets routine the same in order to make them comfortable and happy. I now have my own tabby kitten that I’m obsessed with, which my partner and I are currently trying to adventure train. I am currently writing my Master’s thesis and working from home so I have a lot of flexibility on when I work. I can make my own hours and work around when you need me! I’ll adapt to however you need help with your pet, since I have helped with so many types of animals, I know they all have their own unique personalities and quirks. I’ll follow your lead on how to care for your animal!
“Henry was very friendly and handled my dogs like a pro. He stayed in my house for most of a week to look after them and left my place clean. My dogs were happy and relaxed when I got home. They're very high energy dogs, so that speaks volumes for Henry's care.”
“Michael is an incredibly reliable and respectful pet sitter! He always leaves my place sparkling and spends a ton of time with my boy Apollo. He is also incredibly knowledgeable thanks to his experience working in a vet clinic. I will always recommend Michael!”

Abram cared for our pups and house like they were his own. He clarified care to ensure he did things like our labs were used to and was very respectful. I felt so reassured with him at my house while I was out of town! I highly recommend Abram’s services and will be utilizing his care again in the future 🙌🐾

Jefferey was amazing!! Jefferey watched our somewhat anxious and very high energy dog for 3 days. Usually when we get home from a long trip she is jumping of the walls with excitement mixed w anxiety, but when we got home this time she was happy and as cool as a cucumber - a sign that she was extremely comfortable with and well cared for by Jefferey :) He checked in w pictures every day and left notes about her care. I would 100% recommend and book again!!

I booked Avery for an extended stay to watch my two cats, one of them requires some extra maintenance due to neurological issues, and she did great! Avery provided photos, and it was clear both my cats had warmed up to her. Communication was clear and consistent when it was needed! Not only was Avery great with the cats, but my house was left in great condition. Returning from travel is always stressful, but I walked into an absolutely spotless home, which really helped. Would highly recommend Avery 😌 and will definitely look to book her again in the future!

Jaeyln did an amazing job. She was very communicative, lots of pictures, followed every detailed instruction I gave her including medication requests, exercise and physical therapy requests. She handled my German Shepherd with care and was able to keep his routine consistent and his medical needs in place. She was able to quickly learn how to attach his joint brace. She left my house spotless when she was done sitting for me. At first I thought her price was high, but she earned every penny.

Sara took care if our cat and dog just as we asked, and she sent wonder photos and updates, and Sara went the extra mike washing sheets off the furniture, and washed sheets and made my bed!! We came home late from our trip to happy pets and such a clean house! We will definitely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dry Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dry Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dry Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
