About: I've been in a 2-3 dog (and later on one grumpy cat) household my entire life. My shared company of animals is a major part of my identity and is represented now by my pursuit of a degree in animal sciences. At times, I feel I understand them better than people; they've always been an anchor for me in difficult times. Since moving away from home to attend Oregon State University, I leave behind two goofball dogs, Grizzly Bear and Tig, and one sassy old cat, Hazel, my little lady. As a full-time student at OSU, I have classes Monday thru Friday, and though I am unopposed to weekday commitments, weekends are when I am most free. My availability: Wednesday - 1pm and beyond free Thursday - 7pm-9pm Friday - 3pm and beyond free Saturday - All day available Sunday - All day available I am open to helping out on weekdays if I am not too swamped, and would do better with short term commitments, but weekends are wide open! About: I’ve been dog sitting for as long as I can remember, but what sets me apart for the most part is my experience. I volunteered at Austin Pets Alive for about four years working with reactive dogs. Then I started work as a kennel tech at a boarding facility run by a veterinarian. I work Monday-Thursday 8-5 but have a lunch break and will be able to check in with animals during the day. Then weekends I am always free. I have heavy emphasis on mental stimulation for dogs, specifically working breeds and higher energy dogs. I’m really good at coming up with new puzzles and activities for dogs to do , so that they feel fully satisfied by the days end. I’m very active myself , so you’ll often find me with a dog on a hiking trail or down at Zilker park. This translates very well if you have a pup who just needs someone to run with them, and treat them to a pupsicle when they are all tuckered out!

Elaina did a fantastic job of pet sitting our labradoodle Teddy. Elaina made an extra effort to quickly create a bond with Teddy so that he was relaxed and happy. Elaina took Teddy on his twice daily walks and ball chasing around our property and the pictures she shared showed he was having fun (even in the rain).
