“Bristle has become so comfortable with Jason that she will seek out attention and beg to be brushed and played with. These are things she was never comfortable enough to ask for from her other sitters”

About: Animal lover, I grew up with multiple pets, 10+ years experience providing pet care for family, friends, and clients including at-home drop-in visits, dog walking, and overnight care. Here to support your pet and bring some joy to their day! Flexibility in weekly schedule, both weekdays and weekends. I’ll do my best to accommodate your care needs, send me a message and we’ll make a plan. Experienced caring for pets in different environments. I follow all care instructions provided by owners to ensure their pet is safe and in trusted care. Very communicative and love to send over photo/text updates.
About: I grew up with lots of cats and dogs as a kid and became experienced with taking care of them at a young age. I love playing with and taking care of pets and I'm good at reading their body language and trying to understand what an animal wants and needs. I work freelance remotely so my schedule is flexible and I have plenty of time to check on and care for your pets. I have a reliable car and have no problem coming to your home to care for your pet. I have experience with both cats and dogs and I know how to read their body language and respond to whatever it is that they need.
“Dale is a wonderful pet caregiver. My elderly pet needed special care and attention and Dale really helped ease my concern leaving her. I highly recommend Dale. She is kind, attentive and responsive.”

About: I offer high-energy walks at any pace your dog needs! If they like a fast paced walk, I’m there. If they like to take their time and sniff, I’m there. I love to get pictures of your pup on walks, not only to show their owner how much they’re enjoying their walk, but to look back on and remember when we first started our walks :) I have been taking care of dogs for the past 6 years and have a true passion for helping dogs. In 2023, I rescued an 8 month old puppy with straight leg syndrome that couldn’t walk without his wheel chair. He’s now a year and 8 months old and able to stand, walk, run, climb 4 stairs, and swim!! He proved he doesn’t need that wheelchair with the help of weekly PT appointments and lots of at home exercises! I am a nanny Monday-Thursdays until 2:00pm. I am available those days after 2:30pm for drop-in visits or dog walking! I am available 24/7 Friday-Sunday for your fur babies! I have two fur babies who are extremely friendly and always love visitors! I have a big yard that is partially fenced in, but will keep dogs on leashes if needed! I have long leashes to give them that “off-leash” feel but still being secure. I also would love to bring your dog on adventures with my dogs (beach trips, trail walks, swimming, etc). :)

About: I’m patient, attentive, and great with all temperaments, from playful puppies to calm seniors. I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback and two Australian Shepherds that I’ve raised from 8 weeks old, working on training, routines and daily care. I always prioritize safety, keep routines consistent, and always send thoughtful updates and photos so you feel totally at ease while you’re away. I absolutely love dogs and genuinely enjoy fitting pet care into my routine. I’m available for walks and drop-ins around my work schedule, and I’m consistent, on-time, and flexible when plans change. I’m great with early mornings or evenings and happy to coordinate what works best for you and your pet. I treat every home with respect and every pet like my own. I follow routines closely, double-check doors and leashes, keep walks safe and calm, and make sure pets feel comfortable and secure. I’m clean, mindful in your space, and always send updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.
About: I've taken care of friends & family's dogs for the past 10 years, however for the past year and a half I've been a certified foster with The Grateful Dog rescue. My first foster, a two year old bulldog mix I had for 10 months. With her we learned leash training and manners/boundaries with other dogs. My second foster, was a 7 month old pitbull mix who ended up being a medical foster that I had for 5 months. With her, we learned house training, leash training, muzzle training, crate training, and basic commands. She was also extremely anxious and fearful with other dogs & people, so we did a TON of work to get her ready for getting adopted into a new environment. My last foster, was a two year old bulldog who needed a space with a structure and a schedule to help with his anxiety of being re-homed twice. Due to my apartment, I'm no longer able to foster, however I've taken on the role of event coordinator which often involves handling anxious/nervous pups in the high energy environment of adoption events. I've been missing the dog snuggles and walks and joined Rover to help fill that void. I'm currently working full time, Monday-Friday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday I work 9am - 5:30 pm. on Thursdays I work 11:30am - 8 pm. I Currently work remotely which allows for a lot of flexibility in making dog sitting/walking work. When it comes to going on walks, I have experience with strong dogs who pull on the leash, reactive dogs (both positive and negative reactions to other dogs and people) and muzzle training/wearing. I have experience with crate training, as the rescue that I fostered with requires that all of their dogs be crate trained.
“The girls and I met with Tara, they are excited and will be happy. It easies my mind to have a person that can bond and have fun with them. Look forward to see how they do once Tara starts.”

About: Hello there! My name is Kevin. I am an animal lover working remotely with a flexible schedule. I can work from anywhere with a good internet connection. I will be there for your pets as needed and keep you informed about the experience. My sister also works from Rover and she communicated that there was a need for local and committed dog walkers in the Somersworth/Dover area. What a great idea! If you're looking for a local dog walker who can commit to walks or drop-ins around set days every week, I'm happy to help with that. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. If the stay is from Monday to Friday, I only need a strong internet connection to work remotely. ~ WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ~ We will review anything you'd like before you leave, and I will do my best to accommodate. About: Since I was a young girl I was always the family remember in charge of making sure our pets were fed, entertained, trained and given exercise. Around the age of 10 was my first time watching over our neighbors new puppy as they went on vacation. At the time I was nervous but my energetic energy matched the puppy perfectly. Currently i’m renting an apartment at my college UNH with my cat and a roommate. My neighbors who have pets continuously asked me to watch them because of how much time and energy I put into carrying for them. Sometimes I only watch them for the day when work or school takes over and other for extended periods of time. If this becomes the case I make sure to walk and entertained the pet so that they don’t feel lonely. Cat sitting in house is my most common form of cat sitting. Cats and dogs have very different needs from a sitter that I can provide with my years of experience working and owning my own pets I’m currently on summer break until August so my availability to spend time with your fur babies is very open. Keeping in mind that it is still my break there will be times in which I wish to fully experience my summer :) If there is a fenced in yard or not, I still plan to take pups on daily leash walks to ensure safety of the both of us. Ultimately whatever the client feels most comfortable and confident with I will ensure to use those methods. This can include crate use, specific walk routes, specific animal preferences and more.
About: I have been around dogs all of my life and I have grown up with Boxers. When I was in high school I would watch dogs in my town very frequently, from staying overnight to just walking and letting them out during the day. I currently work full time in downtown Portsmouth, but work is flexible with me when it comes to choosing my breaks, so I can let your dog out during the day. I am respectful and courteous of my clients homes. I clean up after myself and I always keep my clients updated during my stay by providing pictures and reaching out if needed.

About: I'm currently a Pre-Veterinary student at University of New Hampshire and currently work at a local veterinary clinic. As a veterinary assistant I have gained experience with animal handling and care. I am also Fear Free Certified and know had to adequately prevent fear, anxiety, and stress in both cats and dogs. I have previously worked at a training facility and am familiar with certain signals and behaviors that animals demonstrate to express themselves. I have owned cats and dogs my entire life and have been exposed to many types of breeds, species, and seen interesting cases regarding animal health. When I'm not at school I take care of my two dogs and cats at home. Furthermore, I work part-time at a veterinary clinic at school and at home so I am constantly surrounded by animals and have exposure to many cases. I previously owned a diabetic cat and learned how to administer insulin shots and monitor her glucose levels multiple times a day. I feed and water my animals in my home at least twice a day, snacks are often provided as well. I walk my dogs as much as necessary (typically twice a day). I always play with my cats and dogs. I have a kitten who loves playing fetch with toy mice and a 5 year old dog who enjoys hiking trips and swimming. The two dogs get groomed when needed but I brush them consistently in between grooms. Finally, I am responsible when it comes to my animals' health and notice any changes in behavior or appearance almost immediately. I find it important to keep them up to date with vaccines and any other medications they need.
“Leah has been absolutely amazing taking care of my dog Otis while I recover from surgery. She is easy to communicate with, shows up on time with a smile, and most importantly clearly truly cares about Otis being happy and getting the care he needs. I am incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful and caring person to help take care of my pet.”

About: I work with dogs on a daily bases. I love to cuddle, spoil, and keep the dogs active whenever I have free time. A dog is a family member and they will get my unconditional love and attention. On my breaks from work check ins will always be my first priority. They will get snacks if allowed. Plenty of pictures and up dates will happen while you're on your vacation. They are in the best of hands. I know how to control shy, excited and stubborn dogs and dogs who are pullers on a leash. All my time will be for the dogs! I work 5-10 minutes from my apartment. I’ll be able to check on them throughout the day and make sure they get plenty of outdoor time. My fiancé works 2nd shift so the dogs will never be left home alone except for a few hours on Sundays only! I work full time but my fiancé works 2nd shift so when I go to work he’s home and when I get home he’s going to work. Someone is almost always home I never use flexi leashes only slipleads or harnesses that can’t be slipped. I also usually ask for a crate(have a spare) if dogs need breaks
“Wendy was wonderful in taking care of our cat while we were gone for Christmas. She sent multiple pictures each day, stayed with Maggie longer than the minimum time to comfort and support her, and properly fed and watered her. I would hire Wendy again in a heartbeat and plan to do so when we go back to NY in May. This woman is one of the really professional and competent sitters out there. Thank you, Wendy.”

Dover dog parents share their Rover experiences
Leah did a great job with our high energy 5 month old puppy! She communicated quickly, sent lots of photos and a video, and our puppy clearly enjoyed spending time with her. Leah stopped by before the visit to meet Frannie and run through her lunch routine with us, which we really appreciated! Will definitely rebook with Leah in the future!

Jennifer did great with Milah, even though Milah was very nervous, so nervous milah didn't want to go outside to pee. Jennifer got her to eat her dinner and stayed with her using treats to get Milah outside. Glad we found someone that stuck with it even though our pup was not being a team player.

Yujie has been doing regular weekly drop-in visits for our two dogs, and he’s been amazing. He’s very attentive, communicative, and responds quickly. He’s truly gone above and beyond to care for my dogs while I’m working. My dogs, Arnold and Rico, absolutely love Yujie, and he always sends us great pictures during his visits. It gives us such peace of mind knowing they have a caring, reliable person spending time with them during the day—playing with them and giving them potty breaks. I would highly recommend Yujie for anyone looking for pet care!

Chloe was the best with my dog Benny! It was my first time using Rover and she knocked it out of the park. She had to deal with Benny being benny and she faced it like a champ. So thankful for her and how communicative she was throughout the whole process. I will definitely be having Chloe help with benny anytime I leave next!
