“Danni was super communicative and did great with our dogs. Quote from our Lab “smells good, brought treats. Gives lots of pets. Good scratches. 5 of 5, will sniff again”.”

“Erin was great with my boy! She was super attentive to and provided updates throughout our time away. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for excellent care for their dog while they’re away from home.”

“Joycemar took great care of our cats. She administered insulin when needed, and communicated great with pictures and videos. Our cats were well taken care of and seem happy and healthy. Would definitely recommend! 10/10”

“Jennifer es Excelente. Me cuido a mi perro Hunter por una semana, es muy cariñosa con los animales. Mientras está en la visita te envía fotos de tu mascota y siempre que uno le escribe para preguntar por la mascota esta pendiente y te responde enseguida. Me encantó la volvería a llamar siempre que necesite de un cuidador de mascota. Gracias”

About: I take care of my friends and Neighbors dogs when they go out of town or need their dogs walked when they are running late from work. I also have volunteered at a dog shelter as well and loved it. Animals have always been a huge love of mine and I love meeting different breeds of dogs I am a college student who plays baseball and loved dogs so since I’m off for the summer I decide to help people that aren’t able to walk their dogs and also babysit dogs when there parents are away. I am pretty available for most days and time. I have one loving dog who’s name is Lola. She is very friendly and would love some more pups to play with. I have an open back yard that gives bunches of freedom and plenty extra room in the house for another dog.
About: I’ve taken care of many different types of dogs and I’ve had a lot of dogs and many different breeds growing up. About: I have constantly been around dogs my whole life, socializing and training them. We’ve always had a lot of animals in my family all around, chickens, cats, dogs, and pig was in the mix at one point! I have volunteered with many rescues and have attended training classes with multiple different dogs. I have learned how to adapt to all types of dog behavior and am always open to doing a meet and greet before! I currently have a very flexible schedule so it’s just whenever needed! I just have my own dog that usually takes about 5-6 walks a day and 2 trails a week. I have a fenced in yard with a good amount of room to run. I do not let one of my dogs out there though because it is only four feet. Instead, I take her on trails about 2-3 times a week so she gets about 7-8 miles in a week.
“Lynne and her husband provided exceptional care for my pets at my home while I was away. They were dependable, professional, and showed genuine care and love for my animals. It was such a relief knowing they were being walked, fed, and looked after so well. They kept me updated regularly with messages and photos, which made me feel completely at ease during my time away. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Del Rio
I needed last minute help and reached out to Joyce. She was nothing short of incredible. She was extremely communicative, transparent, gracious, sent a bunch of videos, and brought in my Amazon package. I highly highly highly recommend and will be asking her for help in the future.

Alina was incredibly attentive, responsible, and communicative. She kept me updated, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It’s not easy leaving your dog with someone else, but Alina made the entire experience feel effortless. My dog was clearly comfortable and happy with her, and that says everything.

Viviana was so great with Cheerio! Very tentative and kept me updated every visit and even stayed with her when Cheerio wasn’t feeling the greatest. She went above and beyond in her care with Cheerio and made her feel so loved. Definitely recommend having her watch your baby and will be using her again in the future!

Aliyah was so kind and attentive to my cats while i was out of the country for nearly 2 weeks. My cats are both seniors, one with slight medical issues and she made sure to give him extra special care which I appreciated so much. She provided great details and pictures on every visit and followed the care instructions perfectly. She even helped with my isopods/bugs care which she was not obligated to do but she was more than willing to help with. I will definitely use her again in the future and would absolutely recommend her as a pet sitter.

We love Shelby so much! From the pictures he takes of our cats to the messages he leaves about them on the report card, he always makes sure that we know our cats are being well taken care of (: Shelby always makes sure that the apartment is clean as well!! Thank you so much as always!

Sophia was amazing with helping us take care of our cat for a week. She left detailed reports on her rover card, took plenty of very cute photos, and made sure to follow our instructions precisely each visit. Really helped us be less stressed while we were out of town, and would 100% ask for her services again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ¡Excelente experiencia! 🥰🐾

We are truly grateful for Hillary's wonderful care of our cats. She was so attentive to every detail we asked for and quickly gained their trust. We genuinely appreciate her helping us feel at ease while we were away. Hillary also shared very helpful information every single day.

Victoria was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly communicative, sent lots of updates and pictures. She was so sweet, thoughtful, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. I could tell she genuinely cared for my cat, and I will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
