I can't recommend Kai enough! She did drop-in visits for my dog, Butters, for about six months after I had my baby, and it was such a huge help knowing Butters was in such good hands. Butters is a very high-energy dog. She loves people, but she also jumps on everyone when she gets excited and wasn't comfortable being on a leash. Kai was so patient with her from day one. She spent time in the backyard throwing balls and sticks, and she even brought out the bubble machine because Butters is obsessed with chasing bubbles. It wasn't just a quick potty break. She really made sure Butters got the exercise and attention she needed. One thing I really appreciated was that Kai went above and beyond by working on Butters' training. She never tried to rush her or force anything she wasn't comfortable with. Instead, she focused on making the leash a positive experience and worked at Butters' pace. The biggest difference was how Butters greeted people. Before Kai, she would jump all over anyone who came through the door. Kai taught her a simple hand signal that meant "stay sitting." She would wait until Butters was calm before giving her any attention, and if Butters jumped, she'd just turn away and use the hand signal again. It didn't take long before Butters understood that staying calm was how she got pets and attention. Kai has so much patience, and you can tell she genuinely loves animals. If you have a dog with a lot of energy or one that needs a little extra time and understanding, she's exactly the kind of person you want caring for them.
