About: I have been taking care of pets for as long as i can remember! House sitting, dog walking, petsitting, and dropping in- I have experience doing it all! Having two dogs of my own (and a bunny), my life has always revolved around getting to know the personalities of the animals around me and learning how they like to be loved. I am comfortable around all dogs! I’m happy to spend time with your anxious pup or your ball of energy! I’m currently working part time, and am home from college for the summer. I’m studying psychology and neuroscience and so I have a passion for the well-being of your pups! The safety of your pets is my main concern! I will care for your pets with care and respect- while keeping you in the loop! My camera roll is full of photos of my favorite animals to play with!
“Talia was very accommodating to our requests even though some of them were last minute. She is very thoughtful and sweet. Our pets seemed to have warmed up after the initial meet up. She treated Kuma and Kitty as her own. We’ll definitely hire her again in the future.”

About: I grew up with several dogs living in CT. Over the last eight years in MD I have offered to pet sit and walk or let out neighbors dogs building clientele. A dog to me is more than a pet its a loving companion, its therapy! Nobody else gives you unconditional love like a dog everyday you come home. I'm currently working remotely, which gives me the freedom to stay at the house all day and to make sure your pet feels comfortable and well taken care of. I like to stay at the client's home to make them feel safe and comfortable in their own environment and so they can stay in their routine.
About: Hi! I’m Julia 😊☀️ For as long as I can remember, I’ve been surrounded by dogs. Growing up, I had all kinds—from dachshunds and pit bulls to Australian Shepherds and lovable mutts—and I’ve fallen in love with each and every one. I’ve previously worked at a veterinary hospital as well as a pet boarding facility, gaining hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I’m now a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful, animal-loving girls who may occasionally join me. I truly believe dogs are best friends and should be treated as such. You can trust that I will care for your dog as if they were my own. I’m at home every day with my two daughters so I have a wide open schedule. I took a 3 year break from rover to raise my babies and now I’m looking to get back to dog walking! I have a lot of availability and love to be outdoors- rain or shine. I live on a 6 acre farm that has some areas fenced and lots of room for my 2 dogs to run and explore. I love to let any dogs that I watch get out some energy by running and getting to sniff & explore everything in sight.
“This was our second time having Taryn drop in on our cat Nimmie. As before, she did an amazing job and communicated very well. Taryn will be our new go to cat sitter as long as she's available.”

“Jessica was really great with our shy, older cat! He is very low maintenance but she still spent lots of time giving him love and attention. I’m so happy we found Jessica and we plan to use her for our next trip!!”

About: I’m currently a college student at St. Mary’s College of Maryland but I’ve always had a dog growing up. Additionally I’ve also had hamsters and fish. I’ve pet sat for neighbors, friends, and family since I was a teenager. I’ve also used my art background to draw pet portraits for various people! So, I am very comfortable being with dogs of all sizes. Walking them, feeding them, crate/potty training, and of course playing with them! Further more, I’ve worked as a kids art camp counselor for many summers through Abrakadoodle art camps. And while no dogs were on premises (most of the time) I was in charge of keeping kids safe and engaged. I fully understand that animals are family and deserve someone trustworthy to look after them. In the summer I have an internship at the Maryland Anxiety Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays that I will leave early in the morning for and not get back until after 2pm Otherwise I am fully free Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. As my only other obligation is an online class! If housesitting is needed I would make absolute sure that nothing gets disrupted and that your pets are on track with their daily routines. I’ve housesat for neighbors before and I understand that an extra level of care is required for the animals overnight. Whether that means making sure they’ve gotten excessive for the day or whether they’ve been given a treat before bed.

“Michael was incredibly helpful and accommodating to my cat. We just recently lost our other cat and Michael took extra care to make sure everything went smoothly. He took lots of pictures too! I highly recommend him and I will be rebooking for future trips.”
About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes since I was a kid. Walking, feeding, bathing, and training have all been part of the routine for over 11 years. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me with their pets time and again, and that trust is something I take seriously. Whether your dog needs a calm and structured walk, a bath, or just good company while you’re away, I bring the same patience and attentiveness every time. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I have a lot of flexibility throughout the week, so I can work around most schedules. Whether you need someone on short notice, over a weekend, or during the week, I’m generally available and happy to accommodate what works best for you and your dog. Your dog will be in a safe, pet-friendly home with a fenced yard where they can run and play freely. I have pets of my own, so your dog will have friendly company and will be comfortable in an environment that’s already used to animals. I’m attentive to each dog’s individual temperament and make sure every pet in my care feels secure and at ease.

About: I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I have owned a dog my entire life and have cared for my rabbit for over four years, so being around animals has always been a big part of my life. I understand how important it is to have someone reliable, patient, and caring looking after your pets while you are away. I recently graduated college and am currently searching for a full-time job, so I have a very open and flexible schedule. I am available most days for pet care and can work around your pet’s routine. I make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own space. I follow their normal routine, give them attention, take them on walks, and always make sure they are secure before I leave.

About: I've grown up around cats, dogs, and guinea pigs my entire life. I've watched the neighbors and multiple friends pets many of time. I have also worked with horses and done barn work a good majority of my life. I am a wildlife major at the University of Maryland and do a lot of work with all sorts of animals and can promise I am equipped to work with all types of pet personalities! I work 10 am-4 pmMondays through Thursdays so I am available before in the morning and all afternoon and evening. Fridays - Sunday I am available most of the day, with an occasional restaurant dinner shift from 4pm-10:30 pm, with which I am still very flexible and can help out during the day and after work. As an animal lover with experience caring for both pets and other animals, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, enrichment, and affection while maintaining their usual routine. I follow all owner instructions carefully, monitor pets for any signs of illness or discomfort, and keep their environment safe, clean, and secure. I also provide regular updates to owners and closely follow any special instructions regarding diet, behavior, or medical needs.
“Melissa was punctual and detail-oriented. She looked after Max and Kashimo for over a week with care and thoughtfulness. When we take another trip, Melissa will be our first choice.”

About: I have had a dog of every age at some point in my life and they brought me so much joy. I no longer have pets of my own but I would love the chance to care for yours. I am not currently in school so I will have plenty of time to give your pets (or pets) all the love and attention needed. I have a small fenced yard if the service will be done in my home, and will follow the pet parents routine if the service is at your home.
“Hailey is the best! She did an amazing job taking care of our cat. Super friendly and took care of our boy as if he was her own. Highly recommend her for cat care or any of your animal care needs.”

Dogs enjoy regular walks in a safe, sidewalk-filled neighborhood along with playtime and a comfortable, relaxed home environment.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and previously worked in a doggy daycare, caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels. I’m experienced with dog walking, safe leash handling, feeding routines, medication administration, and recognizing signs that a dog may not be feeling well. I’m especially comfortable with large and high-energy dogs and always use a patient, gentle approach to help them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your dog needs a long walk, playtime, or extra attention, I’ll treat them like my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine and is something I genuinely enjoy. During the week, I’m available all day, which makes dog walks and drop-in visits a great fit. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crofton
Rachel was amazing! This was our first experience with Rover and leaving our senior cat for a longer amount of time and Rachel made us feel comfortable from the start. She was very communicative throughout our trip, sending pictures and updates everytime she visited. She gave our cat pills, wet food, cleaned the litter box, and made her feel loved and cared for. She treated our cat as if she was her own. We are very happy with our experience with Rachel!

Julia did a fantastic job watching my kitties. This was our second time booking with her, and once again she did a wonderful job caring for our kitties. She was reliable, communicative, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. We look forward to booking with her again in the future!

Talia was very accommodating to our requests even though some of them were last minute. She is very thoughtful and sweet. Our pets seemed to have warmed up after the initial meet up. She treated Kuma and Kitty as her own. We’ll definitely hire her again in the future.

Heather was outstanding watching our two dogs and cat while we were away for 2 weeks. She is reliable, communicates clearly, and is very comfortable handling multiple pets. During our trip, one of our dogs had an unexpected medical issue, and Heather handled everything start to finish. She recognized something wasn’t right, notified us and with our ok took him to the vet, kept us informed the whole time, and took care of the treatment he needed to get better. Her experience working in a veterinary setting really showed, and while we felt completely comfortable trusting her to make the right decisions, she also made sure we knew what was going on every step of the way. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and everything in great shape. Heather is truly extraordinary and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.

Trishia was fantastic!! As a new mom of a diabetic pup it’s a bit of a learning curve figuring out how to properly administer insulin. I scheduled Trishia for a drop in and she so gracefully gave me tips and tricks to help the process be more comfortable for Faye and I in the future! I will absolutely be booking her again in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
