“John was an awesome pup and dog sitter. I had a last minute trip pop up in my go to Dog Sitters had moved out of the country. After some rigorous searching on Rover, I came across John‘s profile. He had great reviews and was super responsive. We scheduled a meet and greet just before I had to leave and the dogs were definitely on board. John kept great updates / photos during the entire trip and was very thoughtful about my return to make sure the pups are taken care of.”

“Brenna was so sweet, super friendly and kept in touch with pictures of my pups. She definitely made me feel comfortable especially this being my first time having a dog sitter I will be booking her again.”

“Chandler is always so reliable. We had her watch our two big dogs, one of which is very nervous and the other is dog reactive, during our wedding weekend because I knew with her we never have to worry that the dogs won’t get the best care! Thank you so much Chandler!”

“I almost hate to write a great review for Haley because I want to keep her for myself! She has been flexible and accommodating to our crazy schedule. She communicates with us daily - sends pictures and keeps us updated. Haley has dog sat for us for several times - she spends lots of time with our pups. They always are excited when she arrives. Haley recently sat for us when we were "off the grid" and she communicated regularly with our family - she helped us feel at ease. I highly recommend her - but don't book her too often- I need her for me! Thanks Haley - you're the best!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, always loved taking care of them and giving them the love, attention and care they need! I have one dog, he’s a pitbull who’s been around most of my life. I’ve been dog sitting and walking for a few years now so i have plenty of experience and i’m excited for more! My schedule is pretty clear so i can be very flexible, i'm available Monday-Sunday from 11am-6pm. I can be available most holidays throughout the year. I have a fenced in yard and lots of open space for them to run around. If i’m at a clients house i will be respectful of any rules they may have.
“Neri saved our New Year trip and sat for our 2 dogs when our first sitter had a medical emergency. The pups were very content with her and she was prompt and professional. We highly recommend her for and pet care and house sitting.”

About: I’ve always been around animals—I currently have a dog and three cats, so I’m used to daily care, feeding, and handling different personalities. I’ve also helped take care of my mom’s and brother’s pets over the years, so I’m comfortable stepping into someone else’s routine and making sure their animals are taken care of the right way. I’m patient, reliable, and I actually pay attention to details like feeding schedules, behavior, and making sure pets feel comfortable while you’re away. My schedule is pretty consistent, so I can plan around your pet’s needs. I’m available most days and can do mornings, afternoons, and evenings depending on what’s needed. I already take care of my own pets daily, so feeding, walks, and check-ins are part of my routine. I’m flexible and good with sticking to whatever schedule your pet is used to. I treat other people’s pets the same way I treat my own. I pay attention to routines, feeding instructions, and behavior so your pet stays comfortable and stress-free. I have experience with multiple animals at once, including my own dog and cats, so I’m used to different personalities and energy levels. I keep a clean, safe environment and can follow any specific instructions you have, including crating if needed.
“Rachel took wonderful care of our dog and our home while we were away for 10 days. Our dog is happy and our home super clean and she took care of all of our plants and mail! I highly recommend Rachel!”

About: I have watched dogs and cats for the past 2 years. I’ve always loved animals and bonding with them! I love dog walking and playing with dogs outside to make them happy. I am very good with caring for dogs and making them feel loved! I am not working another job but I do have practice most nights during the week. However, during the day I will always be around unless I am at the gym or running an errand! I have a fenced yard and 2 very friendly dogs. I take them out every 3 hours and keep a routine schedule of when to feed them. Any dog is able to sleep in my room and bed if they would like.
“Karen was great with our four animals (dogs and cats)! Karen was communicative, provided great updates, and let us know when one of our cats was having a minor potential health issue. Would recommend and I know our pets are already looking towards when Karen will be back to see them again!”
“Amanda was great with our pets while house-sitting for us. She frequently sent us pictures of our dog while she was out walking him, and our cat around the house. Highly recommend!”

About: I had a large family dog (120 lbs) for 12 years. He loved to bark so I’m used to dogs who might need that extra bit of attention during the day. I can help with any pills that need to be taken, special food, and practice any training your dog might be working on. While I’ve never been a dog walker as a job I’ve made many fur friends over the years and am excited to meet yours! I’m available to be a regular walker for your dog every day! I’m currently between jobs after a layoff so I’m eager to spend time with your doggies. I’m comfortable with large dogs. I can walk your dog around the neighborhood with ease as I had a large shepherd-lab mix from puppyhood to his tragic passing from cancer at 12 years old. I know how hot the pavement is so if your dog doesn’t have boots, I’ll try to keep them in either your yard or in the grass. Please be sure to let me know if your dog is reactive and any commands you use. We will run through the commands before the first walk.
About: I have been an animal lover for over 10 years! I have owned numerous pets from dogs, and cats, to guinea pigs, and reptiles like an iguana! I have provided care for several new born puppies, and house-trained many dogs. My passion for animals run deeply in my veins. People that know me, knows that I am serious when it comes to caring and respecting animals for the lifestyle they live. It is so important to provide care, nurture, and respect to these beautiful beings. I like to provide a sense of comfort for all animals, and assure that I am not the enemy but instead a friend, a lover, a caregiver, someone that is to be trusted. I also like to do this for animals that are not necessarily house pets but animals of nature that live around my home. I do this by providing them with food and water (or milk for cats) outside of my home. I truly love animals of all sorts, and can not wait to meet your lovely pet(s)! I have a very flexible schedule, so pet care fits perfectly into my life without any inconvenience! My flexible schedule allows me to remain available for last minute appointments, and of course appointments that are made in advance as well. I am here and available to help while you are handling your important duties or out enjoying life! I have a fenced patio, and very spacious front yard for fun play outside or just to run around. I have a nice, friendly, and energetic furry friend if your pet needs company or someone to enjoy the fun with! I have chew toys, and treats for comfort, and good behaviors. In addition, I have the ability to follow instructions in your home, or special instructions that are left for your pet while in my care. With my passion, and love for animals paired with my innovation, and knowledge, your pet(s) will be in great care so you can have a worry-free time away from your pal(s).
“Alexis contacted me for a last minute booking and she was flexible in working out a schedule to care my Princess. She was there like we agreed on and she send messages and pictures for every visit She also contacted us when Princess didn’t want to take her medication. She will definitely be my sitter from now on”

About: I’ve been around dogs as far as I can remember. I was born in Pakistan where unfortunately dogggos don’t have a good care system 😔, I’ve spent my life taking care and loving stray / rescued dogs and doing my best to make them part of a happy family. Since moving to the US 4 years back, I’ve rescued 3 fur babies from Humane society that have now become part of the family like any other member. I love taking care of all animals, from feeding to play time, watching them be happy is the most joyous thing ever!! I’m work from home full time, my wife is work from home 3 days a week. My work timings are really flexible which gives me plenty of time to spend time with the babies. I spend about 3 to 4 hours with my doggos each day, wish I could more but gotta pay those bills as well. All of our three doggos are super friendly and very playful. They love having doggos from friends over for play time. Our apartment complex has an unfenced yard for dogs to run around in and we have a dog park not 5 minutes away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crofton
Rachel is the best sitter we have ever had! The love and care she and her daughter Hailee gave to our dog Millie during our 11 day absence was amazing. They were snowed in for nearly the whole time, but made the best of the situation in every way, sending updates and photos every day to keep us from worrying. On top of all this, Rachel left our home very clean and neat, even though they were shut up inside most of the time! I highly recommend Rachel for your next dogsitter!

Dana is great! My cat, Mooncake, was diagnosed with IBD right before the holidays and Dana gave him his medicine and followed special feeding instructions to help keep his symptoms under control while I visited family for Christmas. Mooncake can sometimes be skittish around new people, but he seemed very comfortable around her immediately and I knew he was in good hands.

Brian provided excellent care for our dog and his communication was terrific. He was on time, sent photos/messages, and gave our dog plenty of attention during each visit. She was very relaxed and comfortable when we returned home. I also appreciate Brian’s flexibility as we didn’t know what time we would be away until the day before. I would highly recommend Brian to care for your pets.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crofton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crofton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crofton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
