“Lee is the absolute best! Firstly she is so communicative and responsive, she makes all of the logistics so easy. Our dog is very anxious and typically very apprehensive of new environments, people and dogs - he can’t just be left with just any dog sitter - and Lee was so understanding of him and made him feel right at home. She truly understands small dogs!!”

“This is the second time our senior pup stayed with Renae for the day and he had another wonderful time! Renae is very responsive when booking, and she shared that our dog was settling in well shortly after he arrived. We’ll definitely rebook in the future.”

“Excellent care ! Chad is very friendly and knowledgeable. He has a big house with a huge backyard. When I arrived for pick up, my dog was sleeping on the couch. Comfortable and safe. Thank you.”

“Baxter has stayed Andrea and her pups twice for daycare, with hopefully more days to come! Andrea has a gentle, kind spirit and seems very attuned to a dog's needs. At our meet & greet, she asked great questions about Baxter and his routines. She provided fun updates with pics a few times a day -- much appreciated!”

“Kelly took such wonderful care of our pup!! At 4 months old, Moose needs a LOT of play and attention (our training seems to go out the window when he's in a new place), but Kelly did an amazing job keeping him happy, loved, and up to speed with his commands. We could tell from the second we dropped him off that she knew exactly how to handle his puppy energy, and she sent us pictures and updates throughout the day to let us know how things were going. She even sent him home with his favorite snacks!! We will definitely rebook with Kelly in the future :)”

“Amann was easygoing and willing to take in another dog at the last minute and adjust the schedule, which I greatly appreciate. Avon can be timid, and she felt very comfortable with Amann, confirming that he was a great sitter. Thank you again, Amann!”

“Tara and Leo were prompt, communicative, and wonderful with my dog Choux! He clearly warmed up to them quickly and had a lovely day at their house. Tara sent us photos of him looking very content receiving belly rubs. I look forward to booking with her again!”

About: As a dedicated and experienced pet sitter, I am passionate about providing the best care possible for all types of pups. As a specialized pet sitter for bully breeds and small dogs, I understand the unique needs and quirks of these adorable dogs. With years of experience and a deep love for all things pup, I am committed to providing the highest level of care and attention to your furry friend. Everything from numerous short walks and playtime (temperature permitting) to feeding and medication administration, you can trust me to provide reliable and compassionate care for your dog. I am dedicated to ensuring your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you're away. My home has ramps to access all furniture and gates to prevent pups from running up and down stairs to protect their spines and potential IVDD flare ups. Our morning starts off with a walk around the neighborhood, then it’s breakfast time which means training and play with positive reinforcement! Your pup then has playtime with toys and with my dog Penelope if they are up for it or can snooze away. We then take a quick walk during lunch to stretch our legs and say hi to our friends at Rocky’s. After work we love to be in nature and hit the trails or parks to get some steps in! After dinner I love nothing more than to cuddle with the pups on my couch before bed! We have an outdoor deck that the dogs always have access to. Mostly serves as a sunbathing lounge 😎. The deck is also equipped with grass patches for easy potty breaks. Your pup with have the company of my dog, Penelope. She is a playful and well behaved French bulldog. I have a robust routine for her to keep her healthy and prevent her from being affected from her predisposed IVDD. I can easily incorporate any special needs or request that your day may need.

“What a treat for my dog Luna! Such an amazing property for the dogs to hang out. Mara is a sweet friend for Luna. Jeff and his wife were super responsive and kind. Best rover experience yet!”

About: I grew up with 3 dachshunds and pet sat for many years during college. I've also had 2 cats during college that have since passed away. I've worked a summer on a goat farm, fed chickens, and watched pet doves. I have a good presence with animals and people. I am a freelancer and am at home for the majority of the day. I can bring your dog with me to the park and running errands. Sometimes I'm out on client meetings here and there, but am always close to home. We are at the Vespr apartment building which are a dogs haven. Minutes from the lake for morning walks, with a built in doggy spa and run for evening potty breaks. Big windows with sunshine spots for sun soaking naps and filtered water for tasty sips.

“Finn had a great time with Vanessa. She’s very kind and easy to communicate with, and Finn appreciates her great yard. Finn had a great time with Vanessa’s dog Robin. We will definitely book again!”

“Schatze loves Alexandra!!!! Between the walks on the lake, the pet friend she gets to play with, and all the love, my dog gets more and more excited each time i drop her off.”

About: Dog parent who loves caring for all kinds of animals! I have one medium sized dog and one small dog, both of whom can give your pet that extra company they need if they would like a playmate! I love to keep active so walking or running and playing with your dog will be no problem. My own dogs require an abundance of attention and patience, so I’m skilled in belly rubs, fetch, tag, and overall keeping pets entertained throughout the day. I am looking forward to being your pet’s new best friend and all around entertainment while you are away. And of course I will provide you with updates to assure you that your pet is in good and caring hands so you’ll have no worries! I work remotely so your dog will never be left alone and I am able to provide them with an abundance of attention throughout the day. Pets will have free roaming of backyard and house as well as going on walks around the neighborhood. I can also provide crating if that makes your dog feel more comfortable and if they’re not friendly with dogs, there’s a separate, well-ventilated finished basement we can hangout in so they can be away from my dogs. Whatever needs your pets may have, I can be sure to accommodate!

About: I'm a very responsible middle-aged woman who works from home and would be happy to care for your fur baby. Eventually I'll get a dog of my own! Our household consists of me and my partner, Rocky. We both grew up with pets, but currently don't have any. I work about 15-25 hours a week from home so I have plenty of time throughout the day for walks around the neighborhood and trips to the Alameda dog park. My partner and I are homebodies and enjoy spending time working on our house and gardening. I have a fenced in yard and several rooms of my house can be sectioned off to allow for large spaces to hang out, if the dog needs it's own space. I also have plenty of room to set up a crate. I do not have any pets. I would love to get a dog, but I travel to Vancouver 4 times a year to visit my mom in long term care and occasionally I have to travel for a week or more for work and I don't want to leave a pet for that long. My partner goes to the office Monday - Friday.

“From Neia’s convenience being in the local Oakland community, to providing Rhonda & me with education, love, understanding and support in a last minute need of a sitter, we are so glad to have found a regular sitter in Neia giving us a GREAT first Rover experience.”

About: I’ve been training my dog since I adopted her a month ago and we are doing very well! Working on recall and finishing up crate training, soon we will be taking a class at the spca. I also care for my housemate’s cat when he is away. I go on a lot of walks with my dog and would love to help walking yours! I really enjoy walking and spending time with pets and I am usually pretty open every day. I work remote and have a pretty flexible schedule so I’m able to accommodate whatever works best for you. I am happy to follow any and all guidelines you have for your pets at home and during walks. Just let me know and I will comply!

“Cassandra was great and responsive she sent me multiple updates during the day. My dog was shy at first but eventually made a new friend! I was very happy and will be going back:) Nadja”

About: I’m new to Rover but not new to dog care! I grew up with LOTS of dogs. Golden retrievers, a Bernese Mountain Dog, a small Beagle/Border Collie Mix, a Rodesian Ridgeback mix... and as an adult, I've sat for friends and family many times (sometimes for up to a month) and also have some experience fostering! I love building trust and a bond with a pup and I'm excited to spend more quality time with new dog friends as a sitter/walker. As a bonus, I worked as an assistant Veterinary Technician when I was in college, so I have some additional experience and skills in things like delivering meds, behavioral challenges and training, wound/post surgery care, and basic grooming (a lot of practice in nail trims!). Can’t wait to meet your loved one 💓 I work full time, mostly from home, supporting local government social services planning. I’ve cared for animals for free for many years and I’m adding pet sitting as a paid gig to my life right now because I’m saving up to start grad school in the fall for mental health counseling. I’m currently available for daycare and overnight sitting or boarding at my home most weeknights and weekends. I'm also often available on weekend days for hikes or long walks or adventures to give your dog a nice break when you're busy! I look forward to adding more weekday walks/visits this fall when I shift from FT work to school. I live alone and work from home and am happy to keep your pup company during the day. I live near Lake Merritt and in a nice, residential neighborhood so lots of options for local walks. I also have a car and I love to take pups out for hikes or other adventures if they need some extra exercise. If staying in your home, I can work from there to spend more time with the pup if the space is reasonably set up for that!

Shannon & Rocky D.
“My partner and I were away for two weeks, and leaving our 1-year-old puppy behind for the first time was nervewracking. From the moment we dropped him off, Shannon went above and beyond with her thoughtful care. She welcomed Sonny into her home, kept us updated with regular photos, and made sure he got plenty of playtime in her backyard and at the dog park. When he unexpectedly injured his paw at the dog park (a toenail snag), Shannon contacted our vet, took him in for treatment, and lovingly cared for him while he wore a cast and cone. We were blown away by her attentiveness, compassion, and proactive care. Knowing our pup was in her hands gave us total peace of mind. Shannon is truly exceptional. She's trustworthy, communicative, and full of heart. We couldn’t imagine a better person to care for our fur-baby, and anyone would be lucky to have her look after theirs!!!”

Christine S.
“Christy was so loving and thoughtful with our dog, Zappa, a true family member who gave our pup the same love and care that we give and hoped for in a dog sitter. Playful while considerate of our methods, loving while upholding our boundaries, Zappa had the experience of care and creativity that all dog owners hope for in a sitter. I am certain that your animals (she took care of more than just our dog!) will feel you in her care.”
