About: I'm a nature lover and natural animal lover—especially doggies. Over the years, I’ve loved and cared for my my own pets: dogs, a rabbit and a cat. Currently, I help care for my aging mom’s little senior Shitzu: weekly walks at a nearby parks, vet care and lite grooming. Comfortable with harness attaching and removal. My own beloved dog passed away a couple of years ago, I still enjoy encounters with other dogs on my daily walks, giving ear rubs and back scratches—dogs just bring me joy. Currently, I’m retired, so my availability is flexible for you and your pet’s needs. I have experience caring for various breeds and size (small to medium size dogs), but I can handle larger senior dogs. I routinely walk at various designated parks and trails in the East Bay. When I pet-sit in my apartment, I inquire about pets regular routine first: walking, feeding, and medication (if necessary). I require they provide their pet’s own: bedding, sleepwear, food and treats and up to date vaccines. I also ask for emergency info: Vet, pet-owner (s), and an alternate contact. Finally, I will send regular updates via text, pictures or videos of your pets outings or stays—live if you like!

“Christine came to the rescue on short notice to walk our foster dog while we were on vacation. She was patient, understanding and offered great care. Love the rover.com app and the report card feature! Christine clearly followed the protocol, gave informative daily feedback and put our concerns about leaving new foster pet at ease. Thanks Christine!”

About: I’ve grown up and taken care a variety of animals from dogs (all sizes), cats, rabbits, chickens & even lizards. I’ve done dog walking in highschool and worked at pet food express in 2022 where I learned a lot about grooming, health, training & more! Currently free and available (unless stated I’m book) till the August 8 because I’ll be relocating for college in Southern California. If you see I’m book, still reach! I may be flexible and can work out my schedules. During my free time I’m usually at home with my cats & dog teaching them new tricks or giving them extra love, but I would love to help someone else take care of theirs and give their animals some care while their owners are away or working.

“Stephanie has been so great with my dog Maya. After starting a new job and moving to a new city, I didn’t have any support to help with my dog. Stephanie has been so helpful with all these changes. Maya can be a bit nervous around new people but she warmed up to Stephanie really fast and gets so excited to see her! About: Hi! I’m a passionate animal lover with a Bull Terrier of my own, plus experience caring for Beagles, Dobermans, and Chihuahuas. I offer dog sitting, walking, and horse care with plenty of love and attention. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, some quality company while you’re away, or your horse needs grooming and care, I’m here to help. I treat every animal like family and can’t wait to meet your furry and hoofed friends! I only work three days a week so I have plenty of extra time to care for your pets while you’re away or tied up at work. I keep pets safe and comfy at your place, follow your instructions, and stay alert on walks. You’ll always get updates so you can relax and know they’re in good hands.

About: Dogs have always been an important part of my life. I grew up with large and medium sized ranch dogs, and have taken care of small dogs growing up. I have experienced the full spectrum of canine care from puppies to end of life. Frequently I take care of dogs for family members as well and I love puppies! I have experience aiding in puppy training (not a certified professional but can help continue your home training), walking, feeding, bathing dogs and giving canine medication. I fully believe that dogs are meant to be outside and exercised as much as they are able for the best quality of life. From hikes, parks, walks around the block and cuddles, I’ll be there for your pup! I’m a graduate student therefore my availability for walks and drop ins, is strict to Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. But flexible during the hours of those days. Some evenings can be arranged on Thursdays and Fridays on a case by case basis. I can only offer daytime boarding in my home on Tuesdays as that is when I have online classes. Currently have some flexibility before classes start. I do really well with instructions if you have any specific needs for your pup! I am willing to clean up after puppy messes as well during puppy drop ins. For pups staying with me, I have a large fenced in backyard for your pet to lounge in. It is mostly made of brick and synthetic grass so your pup with stay clean with me! There is also a large dog park located a 10 minute walk away from me.

“Thanks!”

“Ziggy was so excited to see Melissa for his second walk with her, and he was completely bushed when he got back. What more could you ask for?”

About: I grew up with pets and for a few years I was dog sitting and loved the experience! While my current place won’t allow dogs, I would love to spend time walking and caring for yours! I’m a mid career professional who works from home and has a flexible schedule. I live in the Adams Point/Grand Lake area of Oakland and would love to meet and help my East Bay neighbors with daytime walks while they are at work! Let me know how I can help and be in touch! I work from home for the majority of the time and have some flexibility to take walks throughout the day. I am active and am an early riser. I love playing with and entertaining your pets! I am an active hiker and walker and am available to meet your dog’s needs. I’m happy to help with a special request for walking and happy to meet your needs. In the past I have been asked to take 2 hour hikes with one dog, for example.

“G’la was great! I especially appreciated her clear, communication, friendliness, and willingness to walk Nina last minute. I would request her again.”

About: First time booking with Rover? Use this promo code for $20 off: QISHUZ24398 Hey there! My name's Qishu (🔑👟). I recently moved to Oakland from Colorado to career switch from engineering to chiropractic (for animals and humans)! I'd love to help all the cat and dog mamas/papas out here just as I had in Longmont, CO and, before that, Chicago, IL. I currently have 3 cats (Kina, Nemr, & Freyja), but I grew up with dogs since the age of 8- yorkies, labs, pitbulls, German shepherds, and mixed breeds. Additionally, I helped care for my college roommate’s pitbull/red heeler mix who often had anxiety and frequent health issues. Her name is Bridget, and she is the sweetest. I would be honored to care for yours! I'd love to give your pets the love, exercise, and attention they deserve while you're away! And I'm a huge advocate for providing pets with a great quality of life- more than just basic food and shelter :) I'm happy to do any small extraneous tasks like getting the mail, watering plants, etc. Just let me know in advance! For my cat parents out there: Because of my 3 "kids", I'm seasoned in all things cat: changing litter, oral admin of meds, treating fleas, bathing, nail trimming, de-shedding, training (sit, high-five, stand, turn-around, kiss). P.s. Ask me about cat boarding 🏠😸 I’m currently in school full time which means that I will be available for house-sits during the weekends and school holidays/breaks. This means a limited schedule, so if the stars align, let’s do it! My partner of 4 years, Ian, helps me with clients who are open and comfortable with his help. It works great because he is a dog at heart and also works from home, so someone will generally always be there with your fur babies. We have references upon request if needed. I am responsible for creating a safe space for the pet in their/my home. I make sure that they're comfortable and their boundaries are respected and understood with guidance from their owners and communication from their body language. All animals deserve patience, love, and empathy.

“Ladonna would be an excellent caregiver. She adores animals; and they are drawn to her; and why wouldn't they? Animals are believed to be instinctual beings, and they know a kind and generous person. I have never known her to mistreat any animal; I have only known her as a lover of animals. I know she would excel at this position.”

“I can’t recommend Francesca highly enough! From the moment we met, it was clear she had a natural connection with animals. Our dog, Cali is usually shy around new people, not an issue with Francesca, they bonded right away. Cali wasn’t just well taken care of, she was genuinely happy, which we could see from the daily updates, photos, and videos Francesca sent. Francesca truly goes above and beyond, treating every pet like her own. She’s reliable, attentive, and clearly has a deep love for animals. Knowing Cali was in such capable and loving hands gave us so much peace of mind. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again! She also takes care of and rides horses, so you know she's excellent with all pet sensibilities and can handle dogs no matter where they are on the aggression spectrum.”
