“Ann is a senior cat whisperer!! She took wonderful care of our two senior cats who have many medication needs and eating trickiness. She sent daily updates with pictures and text to let us know how things were going. We felt lucky to have her help and would definitely ask her to watch them again. Thanks ann!!”

About: I found my first stray in 1996 in SE Portland. He was amazing and our hearts have been full ever since. I have 12 years experience as a vet tech. I’ve since retired and have been walking dogs for the last 6 years. I volunteer at Oregon Humane and help out at my husband’s pizza shop. I have a steady base of walks with room for a few more. Available Wednesday through Saturday (and occasionally Monday and Tuesday.) I am currently not offering dog boarding, but have a fenced in yard. I have two reactive dogs and may offer that in the future.
“Matthew was amazing. He was so attentive to our doggo, diligently checking in and sending pictures of him for each visit. Matthew is super kind, and our boy seemed to have a great time during his visits. Would book Matthew again!”

About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.
“Christopher is absolutely the best! Leaving Pax alone when we travel is always hard, but Christopher gives us such peace of mind! He’s really wonderful!”

“Camille and Shayla were amazing with my cat, and are very lovely people. My cat is very shy towards new people, and they respected his boundaries. He came out of his shell after a few days of them stopping by. I appreciated their detailed reports.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, starting with dogs and cats growing up and continuing into full-time, hands-on care as an adult. In my adult years, I’ve personally owned and cared for multiple dogs, including an English bulldog I adopted at ten months old and supported through her senior years. That included managing daily routines and giving two different heart medications consistently over about two years, which really shaped how I approach patience, structure, and attention to detail. I currently have two labs, along with a senior cat, fish, and a python, so I’m used to different energy levels and care needs in the same home. I also regularly help friends with their dogs and cats when they travel, including both short visits and longer stays. Overall, I’m comfortable with large breeds, senior care, medication routines, and adjusting to each animal’s personality instead of expecting them to fit a single routine. Pet care is something I’ve been making real space for as I step away from the corporate world. After years of structured schedules and constant time pressure, I’m choosing a slower and more intentional rhythm where I can actually be present with what I’m doing. I plan my week so I’m not rushing between things or trying to fit animals into leftover time. When I’m with pets, they have my full attention. That matters to me. This also fits the kind of life I’m trying to build. More time outside, more movement, and work that feels grounded and real instead of being behind a screen all day. I stick closely to whatever routine the owner already has in place because that’s what keeps pets most comfortable. When their people are gone, consistency is everything. In someone’s home, I’m respectful of the space and keep things calm and clean. I pay attention to the basics like doors, feeding, water, leash safety, and medications if they’re needed. I also send updates and photos so you’re not left wondering how things are going. If something feels off with a pet, I notice it and communicate it right away.
“Gera did a wonderful job taking care of our cat Jones. I trusted her completely, so my mind was at ease the entire time away from home. She sent lots of pictures and notes every time she visited. She did extra help by watering my flowers, feeding the birds and putting out our garbage. She even bought my cat a new toy which was so nice. I would definitely hire her again.”

“Mary is a great cat sitter! She offered to come do a meet and greet right away, and I could tell she was experienced with caring for cats. She made sure my girls were well cared for while I was away. She was communicative and easy to coordinate with. I will book with her again for sure!”

“We were so nervous about leaving our brand new puppy home for the first time while we went back to work. Megan came twice to feed and play with our two pups and was amazing and very communicative. Definitely recommend!”

“Jessica is a fantastic sitter. She came over and took her time to get to know our pets and meet us before her first time watching them. She’s very attentive and has asked all the right questions to make sure she’s giving the dogs the right care. Her visit went seamlessly and she provided a very detailed recap of it. So glad to have a great pet sitter in our neighborhood!”
About: Hello! I go by Jen. I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for 9 years, including young, senior, and special-needs. I’m reliable, flexible, & understanding that all animals have different needs in order to feel safe and happy while owners are away. My part-time job early in the AM gives me flexibility to meet clients’ schedules and accommodate animals’ needs for check ins, walks or overnight care. I offer dog walking, drop-ins, and overnight care in your home, providing attentive, personalized care. For your pet’s safety, I reccomend providing emergency contacts and your veterinarian’s information.
“Catherine was so attentive and loving towards our kitten. Her communication was consistent and we felt very comfortable leaving our kitten in her care for 6 days. Highly recommend Catherine and we will be hiring her again in the future!”

“Simon was wonderful with our dog Piper this week. Piper was comfortable and felt loved while we were away. Very communicative and timely. We will be using Simon again in the future”

“Stayed extra long to make friends with my nervous orange tabby! Went above and beyond to make sure he was ok. Even had to play an impromptu game of hide and seek with him when he was hidden away. Truly appreciate how Karly really cared about my sensitive baby, Chonky. And jumped in when other care from a friend fell through. Thank you! Will definitely book again!”

“Jessica was seriously the best cat sitter we have ever had!! I looked forward to her photos and updates every day and knew my kitties were in great hands while we were out of town. She is so friendly, thoughtful, and communicative. Will absolutely use her again in the future!!”

“Charlie is a wonderful cat whisperer and was so scrupulous with care of our two cats. He met our cats where they were and developed good relationships with them both (purring, petting, and playing!) over just a few days. He had a mountain of instructions to wade through with special diets and keeping the indoor and outdoor cats apart and managed it all gracefully. He sent photos and videos of each drop-in, which was so kind. He even cleaned up some cat vomit on our upholstery and took our our garbage cans! It was a delight to have him over. I'll admit I'm a neurotic cat mom and I have high standards for their care, and Charlie not only met but exceeded them.”

“Grace has been great! She is always on time and has been patient with my neurotic dog who has a hard time with new people. Would highly recommend her to anyone in need of help with your pups.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Creston-Kenilworth
We have a bit of a high maintenance crew, & Raven not only made sure to keep their routine for us while we were away but also received approval nudges from our selective bengal, & affection from our shy ferret girl!! Which is the highest badges of honor in this household. Would highly recommend to anyone who has elder pets who need extra attention, & those who have anxious or selective babes. Thanks for giving us peace of mind, Raven!

Ellen is 1000% the best! She is always prompt in replying to messages and takes the best care of my cat. I’ve been lucky to use her for the past 2.5 years and have nothing but incredible experiences with her. She is attentive to detail and is always willing to go above & beyond. I would recommended her to any & everyone looking for a cat sitter. I am so lucky to have her help!

Charles is the absolute best!! He took such great care of my kitty and went above and beyond to make each visit special! The pictures included were shot like a professional photographer and helped out with packages, an any problem, and gave me updates on the house. He is SERIOUSLY THE BEST!!!

Jourdan was amazing with my old girl. She can be a grumpy cat and is picky about who she shows attention to. She was so comfortable with her that she opened up and had a play. Which she doesnt do for even neighbors she sees regularly. While on my trip my girl was comfortable and happy and that gave me immense peace of mind! Love Jourdan!!

Michael did an excellent job! We chose Michael after doing several interviews. We had to do our due diligence because one of my dogs is LARGE and SCARED. Michael came to our home to do a meet and greet and my dog fairly quickly took to him. She barks out of fear and it can be scary, but Michael was fine with it and didn't escalate her fear at all. After the successful meet and greet, Michael did a test run with my dogs - entering the front door without us, sitting with them for several hours, and leaving before we returned. It went perfectly! He sent me a ton of videos and pictures to show me how they all were doing together. Michael allowed her to figure him out at her own pace and in the end she was napping comfortably as if there was never any issue. My other dog, the traitor, followed him around and snuggled up to him immediately. He earned a 5 star, but I begrudgingly give it because I don't want him to ever be too busy to sit for my dogs!

Maleah has done a fantastic job taking care of our kitties time and time again. Anytime we go away I know exactly who my first call will be to watch the kitties. Maleah always takes great care of the cats, stays extra time when she can, and sends us ALL the pictures. You can’t go wrong with Maleah- she’s the best.

Gera deamlessly stepped into our medical routine for our geriatric cat. She was very communicative, reached out with clarifications in places our instructions weren't explicit since she knew how delicate our cat's health can be. We really appreciated her diligence and care of our high needs cat.

Elinor took great care of our high needs geriatric cat. With progressive kidney failure and a long list of medicines, our cat has a specific medical schedule and Elinor stepped into our routine seamlessly. She's a professional vet tech and was able to do the subcutaneous water daily. We appreciated her support with our sweet, but high maintenance cat.
