“Despite my last minute booking request, Jamie was very responsive and willing to squeeze my guy into her schedule! She took ADORABLE photos and left a detailed report of how he did on his walk. I am super grateful and will definitely book Jamie in the future!!”

About: I am an experienced caregiver with strong attention to safety, and I grew up caring for my neighbors’ and friends’ dogs. I love walking calm, more relaxed dogs, but I also enjoy caring for energetic, enthusiastic dogs as well. I started walking neighbors’ dogs at a younger age and have always enjoyed being able to provide safe, fun walks while building trust and strong bonds with every dog. My dream dog is a Miniature Dachshund, and I plan to get one once I'm out of school and have the time to care for one full-time. In the meantime, I'd love to use my extra free time to care for your dog and treat them like they're my own! I work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to care for your pets. I love going on daily walks and would enjoy having your dog as my companion, and I’m even open to short runs for high-energy dogs that need to get some extra energy out! I’m available for walks and drop-ins most weekdays and can also be available on weekends. During walks and drop-ins, I make sure your dog gets bathroom breaks, exercise, fresh water, and plenty of attention. I focus on keeping your pet comfortable by following their normal routine and respecting your home. I’m also comfortable safely crating dogs when needed. I do especially well with clear instructions and take the time to understand your dog’s specific needs, behaviors, and preferences to provide the safest, most personalized care possible.
About: Lived with dogs for 20 years, cats for almost 10. Worked with dogs and cats for 5 years as a sitter/walker unprofessionally. Looking to watch friendly animals looking for a companion! I work part time with short shifts in a local shop, so i’m available often and rarely out of town/completely booked. Willing to do 3+ visits daily depending on location and distance / additional fees on top. Not available to care for pets in home. Can do home visits to feed, water, walk, administer care/med routines (when informed ahead of time with proper instruction), and just chill with animals of all kinds and sizes.

“Jason is awesome! My American Bully is 110lbs and he can make some people nervous. I broke my foot and can’t walk Mako for a bit. I was a bit nervous using Rover but Jason made me a believer. Jason loves all dogs, you can really tell. I’ll be using him often”

About: As a life long dog owner myself, I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in good hands. I understand that pets are family, and leaving them with someone else takes a lot of trust. I’m currently a student at the University of Iowa and have always genuinely loved animals, especially dogs. I’ve cared for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I always try to make them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they get the attention and care they deserve. I’m dependable, patient, and will always treat your pet like my own. My schedule is pretty flexible and I have a lot of availability throughout the week/weekends. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care fits naturally into my routine and is something I look forward to doing I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, especially as a pet owner myself. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in any environment. I pay close attention to routines, feeding instructions, behavior, and any specific needs your pet may have. I’m patient, dependable, and will treat your pet like my own while also keeping you updated so you can feel comfortable while you’re away.

“Alexis has been quick to respond, very friendly and wants the best for your pet. We’ve had a good experience with her and know that we can trust her with our puppy! She does great at communicating when we ask about the day or need to tell her something that wasn’t previously discussed.”

About: I have taken care of animals for the past 16 years. I have cared for my own family dogs and cat since I was 10. I now have my own cat for the past 3 years. Before I adopted my one cat I have had multiple roommates over the past 6 years with dogs and cats of their own that I have helped care for every day. I frequently pet-sit for my friends and their families when they are out of town. I can handle any pet personality from high energy to anxious or shy. I am gentle and cautious making sure your animal is always comfortable in my company. I do work in patient care, so while my patients are humans, all of my friends, family and coworkers would agree that I provide quality care for all living beings. I just graduated and I am looking for jobs preparing to move back home to Illinois. My lease in Iowa ends at the end of July, so until then I have almost complete availability this summer through end of July. I can do mornings as early as 6:30am and can be available all day until the late evening or night. I am very flexible and willing to work with what pet owners or their pet needs any day of the week. Your home and your pet are my greatest priorities. Whatever your needs may be I am always willing to learn how I can best assist or provide for your pet. I have respect for owners homes and their boundaries as I strongly believe every individual and their pets deserve a safe and healthy environment to thrive in.
About: I lost my dog last year and miss taking care of him, now that I have free time on my hands I'm looking to help take care of other dogs like I would my own. I treat pets like family and have experience with administering medications if needed and am willing to learn of any specific needs your pet has to take care of them like you would! I'm currently free most days and stay at home since my school schedule is very light for the next few months and have flexibility in it. I currently don't have any pets so there is no concern for socializing or introducing them. In addition I live in an apartment with a large grassy area where dogs can walk on and will use a leash while doing so to make sure your pet is safe.
“Our Teddy loves his time with Isabelle! He comes back ready for a nap! Isabelle is patient and kind. We couldn’t ask for anything more for our new rescue, as he works on training.”

About: I've personally owned animals my entire life. I've raised 3 dogs in the past and currently own qthat absolutely love other animals and people! I also have 3 cats that are all extremely friendly and love new things. I currently work at an animal shelter working with dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. I have experience with friendly animals, reactive animals, and shy animals. I'm very skilled at giving medications as I have to do it daily for my job. My schedule is very flexible and I'm also good in medical cases with animals. I don't have a degree in veterinary sciences, but work with strange cases daily and have a close connection with vet techs. I'm excited to open my heart to new animals! I currently work part time in the mornings and can stop in before my shift to do a check in, potty breaks, and feeding. Once I'm off in the afternoon, I can do more check-ins and walks. Maria has been absolutely fantastic! I appreciate her timely updates with info and photos. She has been so flexible with my changing schedule and she has taken amazing care of my dog. I trust her wholeheartedly and I can tell my pup enjoys spending time with her. I look forward to continuing to work with her for all my dog care needs.

Sadie was excellent! She was flexible and communicated very well with us throughout the day. We are quite impressed that she invested in the need for our dogs to get outside even on one of the hottest of days this summer. We will definitely reach out to her again! Thanks Sadie!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
