“Josie was really easy to work with. She even helped out my mind at ease by coming over and meeting my dogs before the actual day check to make sure it was a good fit. She provided pics and updates during the check in! I would rebook her for sure.”

“After the second & third time having Alexis watch our cats, she is still just as great! She’s very thorough with asking questions, clarifying what we want, answering our questions, giving descriptions of what happened each visit as well as giving the cats a lot of attention (both pets and playtime) . It was also very difficult to give one of my cats her med as she was very untrusting, hissy and swatting at first. Alexis helped problem solve what might be most effective and was able to give her meds each time after this! Thank you, Alexis. Would definitely recommend her.”

“Martina was excellent! She took great care of my dog and cat, checked in diligently with pictures and details of each visit, and always responded promptly. Martina will be my first contact the next time my pets need care!”

“Alisa was a rockstar with our pets. Everything went smoothly, our pets love her. Phenomenal communication through the Rover app. 10/10 will definitely use her to pet sit in the future!”

“Lydia did great with Topaz and sent updates on how she was doing. I loved that she came over to meet Topaz and ask questions about her before hand. Would definitely recommend Lydia and use her services again!”

“Rebecca took such good care of my cats while I was out of town. She provided detailed notes and went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend her caring for your pets!”

“Amanda was incredible. She was able to help us last minute by tacking on a late night drop in visit for our two babies! She provided a very detailed report card and we slept soundly knowing our pups were being well-taken care of! Highly recommend!”
“Abigail was great with our dogs! One is elderly and needs meds and special care and one is a handful! She was patient and kind and kept us well informed on our first trip after moving to the area. It was such a relief to know they were in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi there! I’m a third year vet student looking to help out local pet parents this summer. Because of my veterinary medical background, I am highly comfortable with everything from energetic pups and senior animals to administering medications and recognizing subtle behavioral needs. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about keeping your pets happy, healthy, and safe while you're apart. As a veterinary student, my summer schedule is highly flexible. I am available for dog walks, drop in visits, and overnight pet sitting on weekends and weekdays. I provide expert care in your home. My veterinary training allows me to monitor health, manage strict dietary routines, safely administer medications, and understand both canine and feline body language to keep your pets safe and stress-free.

“Shannon was wonderful! She took excellent care of my boys and kept me updated about everything. When I returned, everything was in perfect order. I'll definitely ask her to watch my cats again.”

“Lana is always trustworthy and willing to show up for our pets! She plays with them, spends quality time with them and genuinely cares. She always our go-to for sitting when we have to go out of town.”

“Adri did a great job watching our cat. They sent pictures and updates so we knew the cat was being taken care of dependably. I would be happy to hire Adri again in the future.”

“Victoria took great care of Delilah when she was sick. She provided in depth updates and had no problem helping Delilah’s medication on track while I was away. I would absolutely book with Victoria again!”

Ellie was super kind and helpful! She was very quick to understand everything needed to take care of my cat tooni :) She sent many pictures/amazing updates and was very quick to respond so I never worried about anything. Tooni’s usually shy but she seemed to open up to her right away! She also helped me out with some additional things I asked about while I was away. She’s super cool, book herrr ☺️

Clare was fantastic with Brahms and Mendelssohn! We used her for drop-in visits, 3x a day for a week, and she was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout. I especially loved getting lots of photos from every visit, which made it so easy to know how they were doing throughout the day. She was also really flexible when our schedule shifted, and just genuinely friendly and easy to work with. I'd trust her with my guys again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend!

Taylor was an amazing care taker for my cat. She was reliable, trustworthy and flexible. At the last minute I asked Taylor to drop-in one extra day so we could extend our trip and she was so accommodating. Taylor gave my cat insulin injections every day and provided daily photos and a report card. I highly recommend her!

Karly was great with my boys. Tiger even snuggled up and gave her a face love. Monty, who never came out of hiding for anyone came out of hiding and let Karly touch him. My sister returned with me and Monty even her let pet hm. Karly went me daily pictures and I really appreciated that - I knew from the pictures that they were ok.
Macklyn is an excellent sitter for cats! She’s very communicative, follows instructions well, and sends the best updates! She successfully managed our indoor cats’ litter robot, took care of feeding our outdoor cat as well, and played with all of our cats every day! Big bonus: she gets the best pics of them for us!! Our cats loved their time with Macklyn ❤️

Brock and Rashelle took such great care of our two guinea pigs during their daily drop-in visits. They followed all the care instructions, including giving daily medicine (oral syringe) and preparing the piggies' special dietary supplement. Totally recommend Brock and Rashelle! Look forward to having them care for our fur babies again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Columbia. On Rover:

- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
