“Josie was really easy to work with. She even helped out my mind at ease by coming over and meeting my dogs before the actual day check to make sure it was a good fit. She provided pics and updates during the check in! I would rebook her for sure.”

“Clayton was such a good sitter and extremely trustworthy. My scaredy cat loved him and cuddled with him everyday! I wouldn’t have been able to go get surgery without his help.”

“Alisa was great with our pup! We really appreciated her flexibility with our changing holiday plans. We’ll definitely be reaching out to her the next time we need a pup sitter!”

“If you’re looking for someone who is going to care and love your fur babies like their own in the Hammond area then book Emiliee NOW! We never wanted to leave our pets in the past to go on vacation since they are not used to being boarded/caged but now we have Emiliee. Emiliee was punctual, professional, and was super sweet with our two dogs. They absolutely loved her. Every time that she dropped in on our dogs she ensured that we had multiple photos and updates on our them. She also did a perfect job completing our complicated feeding instructions and both dogs were happy and content when we arrived back home. She spent ample time with them and made sure they also had several bathroom breaks. We can tell they were really spoiled by Emiliee! Looking forward to booking Emiliee again soon. Book her now!”

“Thank you so much Lydia!! Lydia came for a meet and greet before taking care of Luna, my cat. She was so sweet and supportive, I felt at ease while away on my trip. She sent plenty of pictures and updates! Will definitely book again for any other trips :)”

“Amanda was incredible. She was able to help us last minute by tacking on a late night drop in visit for our two babies! She provided a very detailed report card and we slept soundly knowing our pups were being well-taken care of! Highly recommend!”
“Abigail did a fantastic job of taking care of our 4 feline boys for a week. One of our guys has some special needs and she excelled in his care giving. You could tell from the photos and videos that the fur balls really appreciated her visits. Will definitely use her again when the need arises. Highly recommended.”

“Adrienna did amazing dropping in on our dog for a few days. She would send pictures of him and update us on how he was doing. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will be using her again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of neighbors dogs since around age nine after my sister stopped being the go-to sitter. My family has had dogs my whole life and only recently decided to take on a cat as well. Said cat is not a fan of our dog Kora, but I have hope! My childhood dog, Scout, was my best friend and I learned a lot about caring for senior pups with her. I am dedicated to helping pet parents feel comfortable with their sitter because, seriously it is scary to leave our pets! I am a part time employee at Hy-Vee. My work schedule is varying so I tend to have a very flexible schedule! I graduated from Hickman High School this year and will be attending Central Michigan University for college. I will have limited availability during the school year but hope to continue caring for pets over breaks! I make it my priority to give pets extra attention (if desired) while their family is away! Potty breaks can be as much or as few as thought necessary. I keep a close attention to detail and will follow any special instructions no matter how silly or difficult they may be. Every pet needs different care and I want to make a plan that will work for everyone involved!
“Arabella was super responsive and communicative while checking on my kitties. She sent lots of videos and pictures that helped ease my traveling anxiety and let me know they were in good hands. Would absolutely recommend her services to anyone looking for a great sitter!”

About: Hi there! I’m a third year vet student looking to help out local pet parents this summer. Because of my veterinary medical background, I am highly comfortable with everything from energetic pups and senior animals to administering medications and recognizing subtle behavioral needs. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about keeping your pets happy, healthy, and safe while you're apart. As a veterinary student, my summer schedule is highly flexible. I am available for dog walks, drop in visits, and overnight pet sitting on weekends and weekdays. I provide expert care in your home. My veterinary training allows me to monitor health, manage strict dietary routines, safely administer medications, and understand both canine and feline body language to keep your pets safe and stress-free.

Ellie was super kind and helpful! She was very quick to understand everything needed to take care of my cat tooni :) She sent many pictures/amazing updates and was very quick to respond so I never worried about anything. Tooni’s usually shy but she seemed to open up to her right away! She also helped me out with some additional things I asked about while I was away. She’s super cool, book herrr ☺️

Taylor was an amazing care taker for my cat. She was reliable, trustworthy and flexible. At the last minute I asked Taylor to drop-in one extra day so we could extend our trip and she was so accommodating. Taylor gave my cat insulin injections every day and provided daily photos and a report card. I highly recommend her!

- 89% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
