About: I took a very active role in caring for my family dog until he tragically passed from cancer in 2019. I have also dog-sat for neighbors’ pets with particular dietary needs. Currently, I’ve been told by roommates that I have a very calming presence with our house dog. I work part time primarily in the evenings and when not working, I often have community theater rehearsals on weeknights. During the Mizzou school year I will have some classes during the day, though for no more than a few hours at a time. My current house is not available for pet boarding unless specifically negotiated. The property has a non-fenced yard and one resident dog, who does behave well with other animals. Neighborhood is safe, well-paved, and walkable.
“Ashlyn is so great with our Ted! I can tell she spends time with him while we're gone because he is a lot less weird and stressed upon our return when she is able to watch him. She is very timely, communicative, and professional. We always book her!”

About: I have been fortunate to care for animals all ranges of life. My goal is to make sure your pet is taken care of with respect and love they deserve. I am currently a graduate student. I am available to meet with your pet on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am flexible with the timing to meet your needs! I have reliable transportation to meet your pet. I will follow your routine to ensure your pet stays on schedule. My home is pet friendly (one goldendoodle and one medium hair cat) with a fenced in back yard. My animals enjoy playing with others!

“Aubrey is the best!! She was so patient with my dogs, who can be really distrusting and a lot to deal with if they don’t know you. She was tolerant and took great care of them, easing my mind while I was on vacation knowing they were in great hands. 10/10 recommend!!”

“Rylie was amazing! She had excellent communication and kept us updated throughout our vacation with messages and photos of our pets. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring hands. She took them on walks, gave them plenty of love and attention, and made sure they were happy and well cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter and would highly recommend her!”

About: I have always had a household full of animals growing up and currently own two guinea pigs! I have pet-sat for multiple families in the past, caring for animals ranging from cats to hedgehogs and everything in-between. I have volunteered at my humane society back home since 2013 and assisted as a vet tech for a semester. Moving to Missouri for school, and leaving my three dogs from home, was tough so I am excited to care for and love your animals like my own! I am currently a full time student at the University of Missouri, as well as have a part-time job, but I am able to work around my schedule with an advanced notice! While I don’t typically board animals, I am able to care for them based on any special requests or routines within an owners own home!
“Hailea was great! She communicated regularly about my kitties and sent great photos. When I got home, they seemed well taken care of and happy. I will be booking with Hailea again!”

About: I grew up with all kinds of animals and pets, but I haven’t had the time to have my own. Checking on yours will be more of a treat than anything else! We’ve owned and raised multiple large dogs and cattle dogs, as well as smaller ones with all kinds of temperaments. I work full-time as a retail manager, so my schedule is pretty flexible but sometimes not consistent. Please don’t take offense if I don’t accept your pet - I may just have to work at that time! I follow all instructions to a tee, and I’ll never put your pet in a situation In unsure about, especially when leaving your home. Constant communication is key!
“Emilia did a wonderful job! She asked a lot of questions early on and made sure to understand my cat’s needs. I received pictures each day and felt like my cat was in good hands. Emilia was also quick to respond to my own questions and clarifications.”

“Evie did great checking in on our animals while we were out of town. Our dogs have big personalities and this was our first time using Rover so we were a little nervous. Evie came to meet them first and seemed completely calm and comfortable from meet and greet to last visit. She even cleaned up messes they made. We are very happy with the service we got!”

“Victoria did an great job watching my senior dog while I was away. She kept me updated and sent so many adorable pictures. I trusted her completely with my pup and would definitely recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter.”

About: I have had dogs almost my whole life since I was 1 years old. They are all my favorites! I have taken care of puppies through elderly. I have had dogs with seizures and one who only walked in left circles after a stroke. I have had dogs who lost their ability to control their bladder and dogs who needed help getting off the bed. I love them all and my life is better because they were in it! I work till 3:30-4 pm Monday through Friday in education. I am free many weekends a month. I am happy to do a drop in or two in the evenings and more with longer stays on weekends. I am not always available for last moment notice on weekends but will do my best to be available with a couple days notice. In your home I will follow what ever procedure you instruct. It is your home and your animal. Trust and consent is the most important part of the relationship. I am good at meeting expectations and will always strive to exceed them for your animal. You are the best they could hope for, I want you to feel confident they are just as cared for when they are with me.
About: I've been around dogs of all sizes and socialization preferences! I myself have a 60 lbs, 8 year old Blue Heeler mix named Lambeau, a 50 lbs, 4 year old, Labrador mix named Cleo, a 1 year old Calico cat named Roxy & a 1 year old Tortoise Shell Tabby cat named Indie. I currently work a full-time job during the week (9-5), but ready and willing to make time during my weekends to care for furry friends! I currently live in an apartment where there is a fenced in area for dogs to run around in. I often take my own and my roommates dog to go play together with other tenants pups!

About: I have grown up with dogs in the home my entire life and adopted my own the first chance I was able to provide a stable environment. I often take care of my parents' 3 dogs in addition to my own! I currently work full time during the week but have plenty of time of the weekends to go for walks and/or host your furry family when they are unable to tag along with you! I have a very friendly 3 year old lab mix that is able to keep your dog entertained during stays or walks. I live in a complex with a large trail surrounding and dog park to offer plenty of exercise and socialization as well!
About: I grew up in the country where we were no stranger to dumped animals. I would clean up and care for them until we found them a forever home. I have also worked in a pet boarding facility where I cleaned, fed, and provided enrichment for over 150 dogs a day. I have a very open and flexible schedule that allows me to be there for your pets. I have the time to get to know your pet in order for them to feel safe and comfortable while you’re gone. I am very strict when it comes to following a pets schedule. I know they are too. I plan to keep your home feeling like you never left for your pets.
“Jennie was awesome! She sent lots of pictures and her interactions with our pets was great! Communication was very easy and she was quick to respond to any questions I had. I will definitely book with Jennie again when needed!”
About: As a seasonal guide I have worked in locations all over the world and have experienced taking care of countless people and their pets on hikes and kayak excursions. Now, I love to bring that passion, patience, attention to detail, and enthusiasm right into your home or neighborhood! My main season is summer when tourism is big, outside of that I have wide availability to come house-sit or walk your furry friends. All of my jobs are gig/event based so I can easily move to your area and help out when needed. I currently do not have a home that is available for live-in with your pet, but I’d be happy to work from your home to help keep your pet happiest in the environment they are familiar with. Each client has different needs for what they want while they are away, but I can assure you I can meet them especially those related to pet and plant care so you can enjoy your vacations worry-free.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Columbia
We had a tough situation where we needed to leave our senior dog with advanced cancer over a weekend. Ray was willing to take care of him, knowing that it would be a challenge, and he did a fantastic job. He administered pills 2x per day, changed dog diapers, cleaned up accidents, and followed feeding instructions. He communicated well and provided pictures of Darwin at every visit. I highly recommend.

I was a bit nervous as this was my first time using Rover. My dogs had not been left in the care of someone they didn't already know well before. Scout took great care of them. One of my senior dogs has started to struggle with accidents. Harmony had an accident and Scout notified me immediately and took care of it.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Columbia with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
