About: My name is Karlyn. I started working in pet care in 2018 at a pet hotel and doggy daycare. I joined Rover in 2019, and I worked at another dog boarding facility/daycare from 2023-2025. About: I have been taking care of animals for nearly 10 years. I live with my own dog and cat whom I’ve been caring for since I was young and have additional experience with elder dogs. I trained my own puppy and have extensive experience walking dogs. I am currently home from college for the summer and have a very flexible schedule. I have availability throughout the day and am willing to work with you to find what works! I have a fenced-in yard and my own very friendly and sociable golden retriever. I crate trained my own dog successfully, and have had a perfect record with her bathroom usage. My cat (who is approaching 15 years old!) has a rigorous mealtime routine that I have adhered to for years and kept her in perfect health in her old age.
About: I started off with two dogs of my own as a teenager. After so many years of joy, they're no longer with me. People are often surprised that I had a hermit crab for 10 years. He died when I went on vacation, so I am very aware of the risks we take entrusting another with the care of a beloved pet. I also have about five years experience caring for a rabbit. I miss them all dearly, but the responsibility was huge as a pet parent. So, now I'm very happy to fill in for others when they're in need. I do have a steady part-time job, which leaves me room to do what I really enjoy- caring for pets! For my first Rover gig, I provided full-time day care for a puppy, but she's all grown up now. Ideally, I would do the whole situation over again with a new puppy because being a Dog Nanny is the best and most rewarding job I have ever had-potty training and all. If they have snacks or toys, they'll be supervised just in case.
About: I've had a dog since I was little, so I grew up with dogs. I have trained my roommate's dog some tricks: gives paw, high five, spin, speak, whisper, and other tricks. I can try to train even the most stubborn of dogs, I am patient and stubborn too and will keep trying. It may take awhile. I love long walks, I usually do recall and discipline (stop, sit and wait until no more pulling) while we are on walks. I am pretty available right now when it comes to daytime. Bigger dogs will be more of a challenge for me, but as long as they don't bite I'll be okay. I am excited for this opportunity to show dogs love and take care of them.
