About: I have a bit more varied experience than some. When I was young, we had a veritable zoo, and I haven't stopped having animals since. I've never not had a dog and was made responsible for over 30 miniature horses whenever their owner needed it. I also have experience with ferrets, cats, parakeets, parrots, and lizards. I will say if you need to look after something more exotic (and demanding) we would need to talk first. My dog is also quite old and has a lot of health problems, so I am familiar with handling these. I work Mondays from 12-7 and Tuesdays through Thursday I work 10-4. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I have mostly open availability with the exception that I occasionally have work events. Each animal is different, and so I would strive to find that balance with your dog. Every dog plays a bit different or might need their food handled differently. While I can't take animals into my home at the present, I will strive to be as careful with meeting their needs as I do my own pup at home.
About: I’ve been around animals since I was about 8 years old and have always loved caring for them. My friends and grandparents often trust me to watch, feed, and walk their pets when they’re away or busy. I’m patient, responsible, and make sure every pet feels safe and cared for, just like they’re my own. I currently work part-time. On weekdays, I work from 7:00–9:00 AM and 2:45–5:30 PM, which allows me time in between shifts and after 5:30 PM to care for and spend time with your pets! About: I grew up on a hobby farm in Wisconsin and am familiar with a wide range of animals. Loosely skilled in walking training and puppy potty training. Have watched many dogs and have many trusted reviews from TrustedHousesitter. Very familiar with large sized dogs as I grew up with St. Bernard’s and I am very comfortable handling larger pups. I currently work completely remote and can be flexible with my days. About: I have experience grooming, clipping nails, cleaning litter boxes, filling food and water dishes, playing, taking them on walks (on and off a leash), giving meds, and administering IV fluids. I’m a full-time student and I attend all of my classes online. I volunteer Friday afternoons at CSHS, but I also do that remotely. Other than that my schedule is pretty open and I can be flexible. About: I've loved animals all my life. I got my first puppy when I was about 13 years old, full of pre-teen enthusiasm for learning all about dog behavior and puppy training strategies. Now that my own beloved dog is no longer with us, I've found myself wishing I had more opportunities to connect with animals on a regular basis. I've taken every chance I could to pet sit for friends and acquaintances over the years, but recently I realized that I could also be using Rover to make pet care a more regular part of my life! Since I'm also meant to share something here that makes me "stand out" as a sitter, I'll say that animals do tend to feel particularly safe and relaxed around me. If I were to take a guess as to why that is, I think I would say that it's probably a combination of: 1) genuinely loving pets and wanting to have a positive interaction with them, 2) not bringing anxious energy into the room, which I think is something that most pets can sense, and 3) knowing enough about animal behavior to not escalate any existing anxieties or aggression. As someone who has had a beloved pet, I know how important it is to find someone to care for your pet that you can trust to accommodate their particular needs, and to create a safe, happy environment for them while you're away. If you'll trust me to be that person, then nothing would make me happier than to give your pet an amazing visit, walk, or staycation! I work full time (8 hours M-F) in Arden Hills, but I have a fairly flexible work schedule. My preference for pet care would be to mostly fit it in before and after work (my hours can usually be adjusted based on a pet's daily schedule), but I also have the flexibility to pop out for short walks in the middle of the day, if needed. I can also work from home if absolutely necessary, but I would not wish to do that frequently. I am not able to host pets in my home at this time, but if I can come and care for your pets at their own home, I am happy to follow whatever instructions you give for how to make your pet feel happy and safe and cared for during your absence! I am a careful instruction follower, so I will refer back to any information you can give me about what your pet is accustomed to when you are home, and how you would like me to care for them when you're gone. If you feel nervous at all about leaving them, I'm also more than happy to send regular updates to you about how they are doing!
