Amber looked after our critters while we were gone for the week and took great care of them. She was very attentive when our cat got an upset stomach while we were away and cuddled with our little dog who was anxious during a storm. She was great about keeping us updated every time she checked on them. Highly recommend Amber to watch after your pets!

Jenn did such a fabulous job. She dropped in a few days before to meet my dogs which was amazing since my doodle doesn’t warm up easily to strangers. She updated me and sent photos during the entire process. My doodle ended up loving her! My mind was at ease knowing they were in such good hands! I highly recommend her! Thank you Jenn!

About: Licensed veterinary technician, I have experience in Veterinary Emergency for 2 years and General practice for a little over 1 year. I also did about 3 months in shelter medicine, but my heart was a little to hurt by the things I seen to stay very long. I have 4 cats and a dog of my own. I perfer cats but I have no fear of bigger breed dogs or the little guys. Pitties are my second favorite breed. I dont mind walks baths or giving a few extra cuddles. I am working full time in a small family owned animal clinic. I am around pets every day for 10 hours. I then come home to my 4 cats and 1 dog whom I love more then anything. My dog is fed twice a day and its on medications so giving medications is never a concern for me. My cats spend most of their day playing until I come home and we cuddle, the doggo is always right beside me.

Lauren always does a fantastic job with our crew. Today she came on approximately 24 hour notice to do a drop-in visit while we were unexpectedly out of town for the day. She’s always on time, follows the instructions, asks questions when needed, and cleans up after the pups. We love Lauren!

Lorrin was amazing. She was a great communicator and always asked questions if she didn’t know something or needed to adjust the times. She treated our Amir like our own and was a huge help while we are gone. She relieved so much stress and worry as we traveled and left him at home. I was able to enjoy our vacation with out worry because I knew he was in good hands. The initial meeting was great and she has a super flexible schedule. She followed every instruction that this worried mama had and she assured me that he was going to be well taken care of. 10/10!!!

About: I've pet-sat for a family friend who has a border collie and a King Corso, so I have experience with big dogs. I've also taken care of cats that I had. I do take care of exotic pets, but I would need instructions. I am a college student who is out for the summer looking to take care of some animals, however my service will be close july 30 due to a trip. as a drop in visit typically let the pets outside to stretch their legs and depending on the animals a leash. I also bring treats for cats and dogs, not for exotic pets.

About: I love going on walks and hikes with dogs. My dog is a senior dog now at 12 years old and has hip issues. She doesn’t get to do that anymore. I know how much dogs love to walk. I recently retired a few months ago, so my schedule is pretty flexible to meet the needs of the clients. I have to be busy. I have a fenced in yard myself but I go out with my own dog. I will go out with your dog as well to ensure safety.

About: I have taken care of animals in my home all throughout my life. I’d love to help keep yours safe and happy so that you can enjoy your trip! I am a registered nurse that has become a full time stay at home mom of two children. I do enjoy getting my children out for activities, but we primarily stay near home so I am in a unique position to take on more in home responsibilities such as animal care. I have one dog of my own that is 12 years old. During the day she is free to roam, eat and sleep wherever she sees fit. Since I do have two young children I do have gates that can separate her from them when they want to play with remote control cars or any other hazard to her as she is a senior dog. I have an acre of back yard that is not fenced in but we have a routine of taking our girl out on a leash to roam the yard and find her perfect “spot” if you know what I mean 😉

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Cedar Hill with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cedar Hill. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
