“Our cat thinks Melissa is amazing, and so do we! Our sweet scaredy cat hides from everyone - family, friends, cat sitters. But Melissa coaxed him out of hiding and out of his shell. He had a great time playing with her while we were away, and we felt good knowing that he was well cared for.”

“Jill was amazing with my nine-year-old cat who has cancer and anxiety. She met him before we left and he was calm around her and she talked softly and I could tell she knew cats She was successful every day dropping in twice a day to syringe his meds and she sent me pictures each day and gave me an update. I was at ease on my trip knowing he was in Jill’s care.”

About: With lifelong experience caring for animals, friends and family often trust me with their pets’ needs. I’ve worked in a vet clinic, on ranches, and in homes with pets, and I’m comfortable providing medical care and some first aid. I’m responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to treating your pets like my own and doing things right for your pet and home. My current schedule is flexible and allows me to prioritize pet care throughout the day and week. This makes it easy for me to maintain routines, provide attentive care, and accommodate longer stays or mid-day visits when needed. I don’t currently board pets in my own home, but I focus on making pets feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow your routine closely and ensure pets always have clean water, enrichment, and a calm, attentive presence. I prefer a free meet-and-greet before booking, especially for households with dogs. For cats, I respect their individual rhythms — whether that means affection, play, or quiet companionship — and I keep litter areas clean and well maintained.
About: I grew up with a special Australian Cattle Dog/Boxer mix pup and was responsible for keeping her entertained, well fed, well hydrated, and properly cared for. I have learned a lot about dogs in the process- what many of their interests are, food preferences, and just how much they adore human companionship. I am currently working a full time job and I am looking to expand my horizons and gain valuable experience with one of my most therapeutic pastimes- quality time with animals. I work a late shift in my full time job, so I can be pretty flexible on my timing for the most part. I have a lovely calico cat companion named Diane (after the John Melloncamp song Jack and Diane), and being her sole caregiver, I am responsible for ensuring she is well fed, well hydrated, has a clean litter box, and she insists on being with me all the time that I am home. She is strictly indoors, largely because of the extreme temperatures and abundance of predators. I make sure she she is safe and happy. I strive to provide this same level of care to my client's pets because pets are meant to be loved as family, and nothing less.

“Angus is my regular drop in dog sitter, but this time he was taking care of the cats while I was gone! He sent me pictures of them every day and also pictures of the cleaned litter box. He’s the best! Thanks Angus!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Catalina Foothills
We are so grateful to have Chloe check on our cat while we’re away! She always takes great care of her and we appreciate the daily updates and photos. Chloe is very reliable and we also appreciate her flexibility with adding extra dates when needed. 10/10 pet sitter!! :)

Lauren is incredibly sweet! I will be booking her again for my next trip. Despite my one cat being on the anxious side, she was able to win over his trust. :) Each day she took pictures & left updates about my two kitties. Thank you so much Lauren! I really appreciate you!

Isabella took care of my two cats, Felix and Fritz, with twice-daily drop-ins while I was gone for 5 days. I was a little worried about them because they're still skittish from our recent move, but Isabella made huge efforts to befriend both of them. In addition to handling their meals and litter care, she got to know them, gave them treats, and played with them, handling each according to their own personalities. By the time I got home they were comfortable with her and very relaxed. She did a wonderful job, and I won't hesitate to have her take care of them again!

Sophia is amazing, her love for cats is very evident and I feel as if she genuinely cared for my cat's well-being. Sophia is very responsive to messages and willingly provides additional updates, I felt completely comfortable leaving my cat and my home in her care. Every visit Sophia took plenty of photos and included notes on behavior, water intake, eating habits, and litter box usage. My cat missed her so much after the visits ended, he even made biscuits on the sofa where they used to hang out together. I will definitely hire her again and highly recommend her to any pet owner.

Carina is amazing!! She is so responsive and attentive to my cat’s individual needs, sends so many cute photos everyday, and gives complete updates so I can have peace of mind that my cat is taken care of while I’m away. Mushu also loves having her around when I’m gone. I always try to book with her if I can!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
