Pet care experience

Wonderful, huge yard with wall

I’m retired so I’m home full time. I’ve been an animal lover all my life, have had a variety of pets but mostly dogs. Years ago I used to board my dogs at a kennel. I always dreaded having to drop them off knowing it was never like home. It wasn’t until I discovered Rover that I knew what a difference it makes having them in their own home or someone else’s. Knowing that they get more attention and aren’t confined to a small space with limited outdoor time made all the difference. I provide walks, attention, and care along with treating your pet like I would mine. If you just need me to check on your pets while your away I will follow your instructions and insure they’re met. You can go away and not feel guilty or worry. Some of my most rewarding experiences have been with animals. When I owned a Welsh Corgi several years ago I went through the Humane Society Pet VIP program and we went to assisted living facilities. I volunteer with TROT of Tucson which is an organization that provides equine therapy to adults and children with various disabilities. Lastly I was a docent at Reid Park Zoo and after an extensive training program learned all aspects of how the zoo functions on a daily basis as well as becoming knowledgeable about the animals. All of these organizations have confirmed to me about the special bond between animals and humans.

Hi, Judy had our dog, Xena, for eight days. It was a first time visit. I found her home to be dog friendly, great back yard. Judy had two dogs which Xena got along with fine. Judy was very accommodating to Xena's needs and made Xena very comfortable in her home, even allowing her to get on their bed. I would recommend Judy as a highly responsive and caring sitter, sent plenty of photos. We will use her again. Marilyn

I really appreciate Judy watching my two cats over the holiday. Judy sent pictures every day and a great description of what they were up to. She clean-up after one cat who got sick on the floor. The kitties were happy and well cared for!

Judy is wonderful, sends lots of photos. My flight was late and she was able to accommodate an extended stay. Orion is always happy there!

A typical day

My neighborhood is a great place to walk dogs. If your dog just likes to hang out they will get lots of love and attention!

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only 1 client at a time
Judy can host up to 2 pets per night
I require a meet and greet first to ensure my home is a good fit for your dog. Typically there’s a bit of an adjustment period when a dog is in an unfamiliar environment but seeing how dogs interact with each other is a pretty good indicator whether it’s going to work. If dogs do well in a social setting and have had positive exposure to other dogs there usually isn’t a problem. I like to know if a dog gets along with dogs large and small. It’s good to know their routine and habits and general personality. My dogs are up to date on their vaccinations and I insist that dogs I watch are current on theirs. Finally, I would like to know if a dog is crate trained. It’s important for them to have their own space especially when they’re away from home.
