They are looking forward to seeing her again in a few weeks and we will certainly use ruomai’s services going forward! ❤️”

“As usual, Olivia was super attentive with our cat. We checked the camera during one of the visits and he was on her lap purring like a little machine, so I guess that means all of us involved had a great experience! We’ll keep booking her every time we need someone to keep an eye out for our little guy”

“Wei Chien was a great car sitter!! She took amazing care of my cat Summer and kept me updated on his mood and health. She took care of my pet's needs and made the process very easy. I would definitely trust her with Summer again :)”

About: My family has owned dogs for 8 years and I’ve walked 2 or 3 dogs several times a week since then! I’ve also assisted family friends with walking and drop-ins for feeding and sitting. “Megan is an Outstanding Pet Sitter! I can't say enough good things about Megan! she took amazing care of my dog, Lucy, while I was away. From the very beginning, I could tell Lucy was in loving and capable hands. She got plenty of walks, playtime, and was absolutely spoiled with treats (in the best way!). Rayane has been such a pleasure to work with. We got our pup when he was just 8 weeks old, and she cared for him up until 6 months. If I could, I would have her drop in for the rest of his days. She’s punctual, respectful and provides updates everyday. You never have to wonder if your pets are being cared for because you KNOW she cares for them like her own!!!! 100% recommend to anyone thinking about bringing in Rayane to care for their fur babies!!! ❤️

We keep coming back to Faryn for a reason! She's looked after our cats several times now and is always fantastic. The updates and photos she sends are a real highlight, you can tell she genuinely loves the animals in her care. We always come home to happy, relaxed cats. Couldn't recommend her more! :)

Sandra is an amazing and attentive cat-favourite! She looks after my 2, particularly energetic and anxious, cats (who love her) while I’m away and gives me such peace of mind. My cats are nearly identical, but only one gets medication, and with Sandra I never have to worry about them being given to the wrong one.

Joy was incredible! Very observant and relayed any notes in the daily reports and always had my girls' best interests at heart. Joy also handled unexpected hiccups (a furball and a temp control alarm going off) with grace and initiative. An absolute delight of a sitter, I couldn't trust my cats with anyone better.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
There are 1,416 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Waterloo. About 86% of Waterloo sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Waterloo stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waterloo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
