“Ruomai always takes wonderful care of our Millie! Super attentive, and provides some videos and pictures throughout the day so we know she is doing well. Always gets her to eat when she is kept through meal times, and makes sure she has a comfortable social experience as well. Millie is always just as excited to come here as she is to come home! Would always recommend.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Wenge and Changhe took amazing care of my pup while I was away, providing plenty of love, attention, and updates. They went above and beyond—not only did my dog come home happy and well-exercised, but they also surprised us with a brand-new collar! It’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs they watch, and I felt completely at ease knowing my furry friend was in such great hands. I highly recommend them and will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Deborah-Lynn was an amazing sitter for our pup! She was very accommodating and made sure everything was just right for his stay and he had a great time. We would definitely book with Deborah again!”

About: Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am an experienced dog owner who runs my own training, grooming and pet care business in New Hamburg called Canine Community Corner. We offer a wide variety of services, such as boarding, walking, drop in visits, bath and brush, and nail trim services. We also carry a wide variety of pet care products in our storefront, most of which are made by other local small businesses. In my home, I have 2 dogs and a cat. In the past I have also had a bearded dragon, a chameleon, hamster, rats, and mice, so I am experienced with a wide range of animals. During their stay with us, your pet will receive flexible 5 star care, depending on their needs and preferences. My dogs and I are avid hikers, and often spend our free time out on walks through the forest. If your dog prefers to stay home, we are also able to provide a calm and quiet environment for the duration of their stay. I also have a wide variety of actives they can do at my facility in the case of bad weather, including a treadmill, obstacle training, and scent work activities. My goal and belief as a pet professional is that services should be catered to each specific client, and not a one size fits all model. Because of the size of our living space and the nature of my job/business, I do require that any dogs coming to stay with us are crate trained and that their crate is brought with them. This not only allows for a smooth and stress-free stay, but provides your dog with a familiar safe space in a new environment. If your dog has any sort of separation anxiety, please let me know beforehand so I can plan accordingly. Feel free to message me with questions at any time! Because I am a small business owner, I have a very flexible schedule that can change depending on the needs of my clients - whether that’s in a drop-in, walk, or boarding service. Our canine clients often spend the day with my at my storefront, then come hone with me in the evenings to hang out until bedtime. Depending on the dog and the preferences of the owner, they may also participate in group classes as a demo dog to help show the exercises being taught. I am currently living in an apartment that opens outside to a large yard. Dogs are kept on a long line, unless otherwise specified by their owner that they are able to be reliably off leash. Even with owner permission, I typically avoid any off leash time that could potentially lead to the dog escaping or getting injured. I also have a very structured system in my home, where I introduce dogs through a parallel pack walk before letting them interact either indoors or outdoors. I also spend a significant amount of time working on calm and impulse control, and avoid letting pets in my home get overly excited.
“Our terrier-cross, Sophie had a wonderful day under Arianna’s care. They took to each other immediately upon meeting. We appreciated all the attention and exercise Sophie received throughout the day. We certainly recommend Arianna’s dog sitting services and will likely book with her again. Thanks Arianna! Sophie’s Mom & Dad (we tipped in person, upon pick-up)”

“Isha and Carlos were very welcoming of my little 5 months old puppy - as were their two dogs Lucy and Bella. They agreed to a meet and greet beforehand and alleviated all my worries about leaving my "baby" with them. Bella and Riley hit it off immediately and started playing and running like crazy in the backyard, with Lucy trying her best to keep up with the two. Yesterday they watched Riley all day for me and he had a blast. The videos they sent showed them frolicking in the back yard and then taking exhausted naps. They really care about making your pet feel at ease. Riley will be back soon!”
“Eva and Jonathan take such good care of my pup. I get regular updates and pictures so that I know how he’s doing. He enjoys going to daycare and is always thrilled to meet them at drop-off. I’m lucky to have found such great care for my dog.”

“We had a great experience! Wei was very communicative and kept us updated with pictures throughout the night, which gave us so much peace of mind. They were also super accommodating with timing, which made things so much easier for us. Chili had an absolute blast and came home happy and tired :)”

“Tyler was great with my 3.5 month old puppy. Tyler was attentive, caring and communicated well with me throughout the stay. Boon, the dog, was very well mannered and taught some good things to my puppy. I would definitely contact Tyler again in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of family dog and neighbors dog for 5 years. I have experience taking care of small to medium dogs and can train basic skills for puppies. My job has a flexible hours schedule and I can work from home. Therefore I can accommodate any hours needed by the customer and their dog. I do not have pets in my home currently, so the client’s dog will be the only pet in the home. I’ll make sure their dogs feel comfortable here.
“Ashley was wonderful with Payesh today! She was caring, attentive, and kept us updated with pictures and notes, which gave us peace of mind. Payesh came back happy and relaxed, we could tell he was well taken care of. Highly recommend Ashley!”

“We dropped our pup May off with Sabrina on a somewhat last minute request and she was great. Very good communication and easy drop off/pickup. May did not want to leave when we picked her up! Would definitely recommend Sabrina to anyone.”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember! My partner and I currently have two sweet poodles at home, so we understand the importance of reliable and loving care. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, turtles, fish—even a gecko! I treat every pet like family and always aim to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away :) I’m a graduate student in Public Health working from home most of the time, and my partner works remotely, so one of us is always home with your pet! We are available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding, with lots of flexibility on weekdays and weekends. Whether it’s playtime or quiet companionship, your pet will get plenty of love and attention throughout the day. We live in a pet-friendly apartment near the University of Waterloo, with a secure balcony and lots of cozy spots for your pet to relax. We also have a crate available for pups who prefer their own quiet spot to rest. Your pet’s comfort and safety are our top priorities.

Deborah-Lynn was exactly who we needed to support our three year old Burmese mountain dog mix Frannie. Frannie is cautious around new people and she immediately warmed to Deborah-Lynn and Wheatley. Frannie attended both daycare and boarding and had a great time. We highly recommend her!

Ashley has been wonderful with Hank. When our work schedules required more time in the office, it was reassuring to know he was in such caring and capable hands each week. She is warm, reliable, and clearly enjoys spending time with the dogs in her care. Hank always looked forward to his Tuesdays with Ashley

Ruomai always takes wonderful care of our Millie! Super attentive, and provides some videos and pictures throughout the day so we know she is doing well. Always gets her to eat when she is kept through meal times, and makes sure she has a comfortable social experience as well. Millie is always just as excited to come here as she is to come home! Would always recommend.

We had a wonderful experience with Khushbu while caring for our Bella. She kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos throughout the day and that meant a lot to us and showed how well she was being cared for. Seeing Bella happy and comfortable brought us so much peace of mind. Thank you for treating her with such kindness and care. We wouldn’t hesitate to trust you with Bella again.

Cole and Lin were amazing with my young, energetic Doberman. He's a big guy and he's in his teenage years so he can be a handful! I was very nervous finding someone who could take on the energy of my dog but Lin and Cole reassured me of their experience with larger dogs. I'm glad I trusted them to take care of my dog for the day. Now I feel like anytime I need a dog sitter I know who I can go to and I know he will be well taken care of. Thank you Lin and Cole!

Salma was an amazing dog sitter! She has a great personality with a natural affectionate and gentle nature with pets. She took great care of Kofi and he was very happy to spend his time at Salma's place, and on top of that she's very flexible and accommodating as well. 10/10 would dog sit with Salma again 💯

Jana was amazing. My dog is blind and deaf and can be a bit much when meeting new people and being new spaces. Jana was unphased by it all - she was so calm and accommodating. Ernie was in love with her by the end of their first day together. She is also very prompt with replying. Highly recommend!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Waterloo commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 76% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
