“This is the second time Rosalie took care of my cat and I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter. It’s clear she took the time to understand my cat’s personality and really gain her trust. Rosalie has been amazing and very reliable.”

“Melissa was clear and transparent about availability when making plans for her to drop in to care for our cat. She asked lots of questions and sent pictures with updates. She messaged us after we got home to make sure everything was ok. Our cat loved having her visit, thanks Melissa for caring for her like your own!”

“This is the first time I've ever had someone come into my house to look after my loved one so I was very nervous. But after meeting Justine and seeing how trusting my dog was, who normally isn't, I felt more at ease. She was very prompt to the agreed times and I absolutely loved seeing some pics of my dog during her visits. The score card details were very nice to get as well. Thank-you Justine! 😊”

“Cortney was amazing with my cat, Archie! She was always on time, spent extra time playing with him, and made sure he got plenty of treats and attention. She sent lots of photos and thoughtful updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Archie was well cared for and happy. I would absolutely book with Cortney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!”

“Stephanie was great! She helped me with drop ins/walks and I felt she was very communicative and reliable. She was sweet to my two pups/took the time to get comfortable with them, as they can be scared of strangers. Would recommend her!”

About: If the dogs or cats want to take my chair or bed, I the type of person who would sit or sleep somewhere else. As a former researcher, I would always try to understand animals behavior in a scientific way, and of course in a loving way. I love a clean and tidy space. I work from home and with no family around, so your pet would become my best friend. I work from home and do lots of walking everyday, so all the pet's need can be taken care of nicely. I take at least two walks everyday, stay the rest of time at home working, that's why I'm capable of pet care. And most importantly, I love pets. I can care the pets in the way he was cared at home. I have a cat and lots of energy to take the dog on a walk, and the flexibility to meet the dog's need.
“Lizzy took such wonderful care of my bunny, Bean, that I think he was disappointed to see that I was back from my trip.🤣 I have booked with Lizzy for 6 days later this month and know that Bean will be well taken care of and loved.”

“Sunny was super communicative and professional and I felt so much more comfortable going away since our cat has only been with us for 2.5 months. I would absolutely book Sunny again.”

“As always, Dave is seriously amazing and I am always at ease knowing my fur babies are in great hands. I never have to worry knowing Dave is with my fur kids. He is always my first choice! He also takes amazing photos too, I always end up posting them afterwards 😊”
“We had Sarah look after Millie for a second time with two drop in visits and she was so amazing! Millie was so excited to see Sarah again and she kept me updated throughout the day which I really appreciated! We will always use Sarah to watch our puppy. :)”

“Wenge took such great care of our cat Errol during our holiday. Errol has some health issues that need monitoring; Wenge was so diligent with sending daily photos of the litter box for our review, and monitoring for symptoms. When we came back, Errol was so happy and calm! We are so grateful to have someone to trust with Errol on our holidays - Thanks again Wenge!”

“I can't recommend Olivia enough!! Right from the start, our cat Milo liked her, which made us feel at ease to leave him under her care. She is calm, respectful, and caring and her thorough reports even helped us detect an issue, which we were able to solve with her help to make Milo more comfortable while we were away. We are very grateful to have found her, and we will definitely be booking her again in the future!”

“Daniela looked after our cat Molly while we were away for a long weekend. She stopped in every day to feed her and play with her. We got lots of pictures of Molly after each visit and we could tell she was very happy to see her and have some company. We will be happy to have Daniela come look after Molly again sometime soon!”

“Ruomai took such great care of our cats over the weekend! They were doing great when we got home and I really appreciated her giving them so much attention and sending us photos and updates! They are looking forward to seeing her again in a few weeks and we will certainly use ruomai’s services going forward! ❤️”

“I was away for 3 weeks and Eva was extremely helpful and responsible in taking care of my cat and plants. She was responsive and sent lots of pictures daily. Thanks Eva for providing the peace of mind I needed during my time away! :)”

“Kira is dependable, visits when she says she will, and looks after our cat with lots of affection. We’ve had Kira look after our cat before and will do so again when we need someone.”

About: ***Welcoming new friends for walks/drop ins!*** With over 30 years of caring for cats and dogs, we guarantee that we will care for and love your pet as if they were our own. I started walking a neighbour’s dog and caring for cats when I was in my midteens - after years of longing for a pet in a pet-free home, it was a way to get a “fix”! Over the years I have cared for other people’s companions and eventually my own. I didn’t get my first dog until I was 29! Since then I have had 5 dogs. The most recent is Lily, a potcake from Bahamas. She joins Poppy, our l mutt who loves to play and take up the whole couch. We are a family that adores our dogs and everyone else’s too! My kids have had dogs in their lives since they were born and they are excellent with dogs of all kinds. My teenage daughter now joins me in caring for animals as a part-time job. This is at no additional cost to clients! Got two dogs? You get two times the love for the same price! If we are dropping in to see your companion, we promise to give them whatever they need - cuddles, play time or to just sit in quiet company. If your dog needs a walk, it will involve lots of focussed attention, chatting, pats, and treats (if allowed). We know what your pet means to you because we know what ours mean to us. And we know the kind of care and attention we want our dogs to have when we have to leave them behind. We offer care and affection, with a personal touch, whether drop-ins or walks. A note about fees: Nightly fees are for up to 24 hours. Additional time that is not a full day may incur additional fees. Not all holidays or high demand times in Ontario or Canada are included by Rover (ie Family Day, March Break) so rates may be adjusted for holidays. I work part-time outside the home. My husband works from home 4 days a week. We fit dog-walking and playtime in around our work and family obligations and usually get at least one big nature walk in on the weekends. Our dogs are part of our daily lives, napping nearby while we work or hanging out with us while we read, watch tv, or play games. We have a large fenced yard and our dogs have the run of the house. We also have a crate and can offer it if your dog needs a space to rest or stay if we go out or overnight. Daily walks and play time, snuggles if they want to, care and affection are just routine around here. We are definitely dog people! I have taken a basic canine first aid course and keep basic first aid supplies in the case of an emergency before veterinary care can be accessed. This would only be used immediately in case of an injury and would not replace veterinary attention.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Waterloo
Lixing (Lydia) was a fantastic cat sitter! She paid attention to detail, made extra effort, and asked great questions to get to know Margo better. She took excellent care of our cat and gave me total peace of mind while I was away. The daily updates were thorough, included lots of pictures, and showed evidence of thoughtful attention. Lydia showed kindness, professionalism, and expertise throughout the experience. Thank you so much!

Harsimran was an amazing cat sitter! It was clear how much she genuinely loved and cared for my cats. She was attentive, caring, and very reliable, and her communication was excellent throughout. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pets!

This was my first time being away from Loki for as long as 2 weeks and Rayane have been super helpful in taking care of Loki: She visited twice a day, followed all the instructions, was timely, took very good care of Loki to the point he finally cozied up. Rayane was also super accomodating of my requests and also provided me timely updates everyday. Definitely recommend her and would go back to Rayane for all future sitting needs.

Piper has looked after our Maggie several times, and we always feel comfortable knowing she is in such caring and reliable hands. She genuinely cares about Maggie and is always offering to do extra things around the house. On our most recent trip, she checked on Maggie twice a day. On the last night, just as she was about to leave, our smoke detectors started going off. Even though we were not answering because I was away from my phone, Piper stayed well past her scheduled time and kept trying to reach us until we were able to connect and resolve the situation. We are so grateful for her patience, kindness, and dedication. We highly recommend Piper! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
