Amber and Steve were amazing! We had an 11th hour change of holiday plans which led to needing care for our two kittens. They were super responsive, sent tons of pictures and just so nice! I’m so thankful we found them and will use again!

Absolutely the best. Our cat Brody took to her immediately after meeting her. She was very sweet and caring. Was always on time and followed up whenever she stopped by. We would definitely recommend Shelby to anyone needing pet care. A keeper for sure. Thank you!

Cynthia is AMAZING. From keeping us up to date with our dogs, to bringing in packages left on the porch, to clear and fast communication, I would recommend Cynthia to anyone looking for a pet sitter. It’s scary having outsourced online help. Cynthia has made our experience transitioning to Rover smooth and stress free. My fiancé and I have consistently rebooked with Cynthia and don’t plan to book with anyone else.

Heidi was wonderful. She came by to feed my dog, spent quality time with him, and made sure he was well cared for. She was reliable, sent great updates, and gave me peace of mind while I was away. I’m especially grateful that she was able to step in at the last minute over a holiday. I’d absolutely recommend Heidi and would gladly book her again.

About: I've grown up with dogs in my house for my whole life and helped neighbors out when needed. I've had dogs of all ages, ranging from puppies to seniors. In addition, I've helped out friends who have cats and often volunteer and local animal shelters with cats and dogs. At the moment, I have an extremely flexible schedule! I am available most days of the week, and I can shift around the majority of my plans if needed. Because I've grown up around dogs, I'm very experienced with dog care necessities including walking, feeding, crating, etc. Although I have never had a cat because my dad is allergic, I love cats and have helped friends take care of their fuzzy furballs more times than I can count. I love playing with animals, and I'm exciting to meet yours!

She has great communication, is great with her scheduling/timing, and is the best with helping the pups get all their energy out, I also love that she always sends pictures them. They absolutely adore her!! I would definitely recommend her to anyone with fur babies!

About: I love playing with and caring for animals. I know it’s hard to be there for your pet at all times, so I would love to help you with your needs. I love to play, walk, bathe, swim, and do pretty much whatever it is your animal needs. I am comfortable with all ages, sizes and breeds. If needed, I can administer medicines. I am available days , weeknights and weekends at all times. I have had my own dogs and other pets since I was 7 years old, so I am hoping that I can care for your pets the way that I have always cared for my own. Pet care is part of my everyday routine. I’m used to morning and evening walks, feeding on a schedule, meds when needed, and plenty of playtime and snuggles built into my day. I plan my errands and social stuff around animals being let out, fed, and comfortable, so adding your pets into that rhythm feels really natural for me. When I’m in a pet’s home, I stick to their normal routine as closely as possible – same feeding schedule, walk times, and sleeping spots. I do regular check-ins for food, water, potty breaks, and meds if needed, and I always build in playtime and cuddles so they’re not just ‘being watched,’ they’re actually getting attention. I keep the home tidy, follow any house rules you leave, and send photo updates so you can see how they’re doing while you’re away.

Lindsay is amazing. She took great care of my 7 week tiny puppy. She even suggested to break up visits since she was so small. My Lexi had bad separation anxiety. She would get sick. She suggested a stuffie pup and it worked great! She even washed some dishes! She instantly made me feel comfortable leaving my little Lexi ❤️

About: I was a pet sitter for dogs and cats throughout middle and high school, for over 30 families. After college, I’m ready to get back to it! I’m an animal lover at heart, with a medium goldendoodle! I work full-time at Elon University, but am flexible before 9AM, during the lunch hour 12-1 pm, and evenings until 10:30 pm. I prioritize a 30-min visit with your pet, including feeding, playing, cuddles, & a walk, if requested. I prioritize you & the pet’s comfortability above all else. I prefer a Meet & Greet before scheduled service to make sure your animal feels comfortable & we can be on the same page with expectations and availability

As of July 2026, there are 1,152 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Burlington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Burlington. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
