About: I’ve always had dogs in my life, so I am very used to their behavior and I absolutely love being around them! I’ve dealt with senior dogs as well as puppies, so nothing will surprise me😂 I am currently a student, and I have many open hours that I am free to take care of your pet! I am free most nights to house sit as well. I have two dogs of my own and a cat so I am very used to having pets around!! If need be, I have experience putting pets into crates and administering medicine.
“Gina was wonderful with our new puppy for a weekend home stay. She was courteous, professional, and provided multiple updates. Very thoughtful and treated our house with respect. We can’t wait to book Gina again!”

“This was Kat's first time sitting for our kitten Peanut, and she exceeded our expectations across the board. Communication was excellent — she shared regular updates and sent us genuinely fun photos that we loved getting throughout the trip. When we hit an unexpected schedule change, Kat was completely accommodating and made it a non-issue. The house was just as clean as we left it. She followed everything we asked, from the litter box routine to stripping the bed before we got back. Most importantly, Peanut was visibly happy and well-adjusted when we returned — you can always tell when a sitter has actually engaged with your pet, and she clearly had. Peanut was so comfortable with Kat that we were able to fully relax and enjoy our vacation. We will absolutely have her sit for Peanut again. Highly recommend.”

“This is our first time using Rover to find someone to come into our home and take care of our pets. I like the reviews of Ryan and scheduled a meet and greet with him to make sure he would comfortable with staying at the house. My main concern was keeping the dog and cat separated since they don't get along. Ryan sent me updates of how things were going, which was reassuring. Joplin (dog) really liked Ryan and she doesn't like everyone. We came home from our trip and Joplin was very happy to see us. Joplin actually looked the next morning to see if Ryan was still in the spare room :-). I would definitely use Ryan again in the future.”

“David is an incredible sitter! He connected with all four (yes, FOUR) of my animals (3 cats + 1dog) while we were away. He provided frequent updates with pictures and didn’t hesitate asking questions. David offers a calm energy, is completely attentive, enjoys playing and connecting with each animal and bonded with them so effortlessly - he is amazing! Thank you, David, for taking such incredible care of our fur-family!”

“Dorothy was great with our rambunctious puppy! She followed safety precautions due to COVID. We got the cutest pictures throughout the day of Cora. Dorothy was respectful and took great care of Cora and our house. I would definitely recommend Dorothy!”
About: I’ve cared for my family friends' dogs while they were away, which helped me understand the importance of building trust with both pets and owners. I am currently enrolled in school on weekends and trade school in evening. I and available during weekday mornings and afternoons to provide reliable dog sitting services. My cats are indoor-only, and my dog enjoys a large backyard for play. Due to my cats' territorial nature, it might be challenging to accommodate other animals in my home.
“Victoria was our house-sitter for 5 days for our two herder mix 4 year old litter mates Shemp and his sister LIttle Bear. Victoria was absolutely fabulous. She bonded immediately with the pups and was very affectionate and responsive to them. She was easy to work with as we briefed her on our layout and routine for the dogs and our house. She was thoughtful in her daily activities and updates, and had the dogs best interests at heart in making sure they had fun and exercise and training. We would ask Victoria back again in a heartbeat.”

“Jan was great with our two dogs, both nervous nellies. She was extra patient and spent lots of time with them to get them comfortable. We got to relax and know our pups were well cared for.”

“Erik was both proactive and responsive, and most importantly, he loved and took great care of our dog and house. He handled things independently, but was also a great communicator. We can’t wait to invite him back!”

About: I have always been good at training dogs, I have a 9 year old dog of my own and I love taking him on walks. I am currently in school locally at the SRJC, I am in school at both the Petaluma and Santa Rosa campus. Working with animals is my dream, I want to be a neuro-vet, this is how I can work closely with animals in my current stage. My school hours are between 10AM-3PM M-Th, I will be in school and return to assist with your pet(s) afterward I love making sure that animals are comfortable, I will ensure house rules are in place, and I am excellent in dog training. I love to spend time with the animals even when not required.
“Taylor is responsible for, kind, smart, and wonderful with dogs! We have a Blue Heeler mix who is picky about who he likes and he bonded with her immediately. She took him on the long walks that he needs and also gave him the love he needed to be happy and relaxed when we came home. Our home was left spotless and our dog was happy. What more could we ask for?! We will definitely engage her again without hesitation!”

“Angelica was amazing and our dogs loved her. She communicated well and responded well to our sweet Izzy who needs a lot of extra care as we are finding out. She handled it like a pro. Our dogs were relaxed and happy! Would definitely recommend her for anyone who needs sweet sitter.”

“Peter was very attentive to our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Hijo. It was very clear that he made Hijo his priority and Hijo was so comfortable with him that Peter got to see some of his antics usually reserved for folks he knows well. We felt very confident Peter had everything under control while we stepped away. Jen”

“Nikki took great care of Blissy and it was a pleasure not worrying about our dog while we were gone. House was spotless upon return and doggie was happy. Thanks so much! Nikki is the best.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Burdell
We had such a great experience with Kat! She took wonderful care of our dachshund, Bruce, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. She sent us pictures every day, which we absolutely loved, and kept us updated on how he was doing. Bruce was happy and well cared for when we got home. We’ll definitely be using Kat again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

I recently had Madison house sit and pet sit for nearly two weeks, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She took wonderful care of my cat, playing with him multiple times a day and regularly sending pictures so I always knew how he was doing. It's clear she genuinely loves animals. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat, just as I had left him. Madison was also incredibly responsive throughout the stay. Any time I had a question, she replied quickly and put my mind at ease. She also left the house in great shape, which I really appreciated. Leaving your pet with someone new can be a worrisome experience, but I never felt anxious once with Madison. I was completely at ease knowing my cat and home were in such capable, caring hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter, and I will absolutely be hiring her again without hesitation.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 6,296 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Burdell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burdell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burdell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burdell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Burdell. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
