Most dogs love nature, and it's exciting to see them perk up on walks at the sound of chirping birds, rustling brush, or a skittering lizard. There are great dog-friendly nature paths in Novato and San Rafael that give the pups both sniffing and social opportunities, so they come home tired and content. What I’m especially good at is communication. I pay close attention to a dog’s eyes, ears, posture, and energy, because they tell you so much before they ever make a sound. I use a gentle “dog voice” (yes, the sweet baby-talk voice) and clear, steady cues, because many dogs respond quickly to warmth, tone, and consistency. Even anxious or shy dogs usually soften when they realize they’re being understood. I’ve also cared for large dogs, and my Labrador retriever loves having big buddies to play with. No matter the size, age, or temperament, I’m respectful of each dog’s individual needs, and I make sure they feel safe, seen, and truly cared for with plenty of affection, attention, patience, and exercise. About: During my time in college I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment by myself which felt a bit lonely, so I decided to sign up to foster adult cats. Because of this my experience with cats may be less than someone who grew up with them, but let me tell you: foster cats are no joke. I have dealt with any type of temperment you can think of, and administered many types of medication from pills to SQ injections. In the last 2 years I had 8 different cats call my place their home, and I wouldn't change it for anything. I have recently moved to the Bay and can no longer foster cats, so I would be more than pleased to cat sit for you!

Outside of that, I’m usually home and available, so I’m still able to give a lot of attention and one-on-one care! I split my time between San Francisco and Petaluma on our family farm. During house sits, I can spend substantial time at home with your pets rather than leaving them alone for a full workday. Because some of my work involves filming or occasional local outings, I’ll always discuss your pet’s needs and how long they can comfortably be left alone before confirming a booking. When I arrive, I immediately check on the animals, their food and water, litter boxes or yard needs, and spend time helping them feel comfortable before I settle in myself. I keep doors, gates, leashes, and household access secure, follow your instructions closely, and never introduce new foods, activities, animals, or visitors without permission. I send regular photos, videos, and updates, and I will contact you promptly if I notice any change in behavior, appetite, energy, digestion, or the condition of your home. I’m calm in unexpected situations, proactive about finding solutions, and respectful of your privacy and belongings. I also leave homes clean, orderly, and ready for a comfortable return.

About: I have over ten years experience pet sitting and housesitting for multiple species, including dogs, cats, and reptiles. Having a rescue dog of my own at one point in my life, and volunteering at a therapeutic equestrian center has helped me learn how to gain an animal’s trust in a short amount of time, even the most wary. I have my own vehicle, which has a seatbelt with a carabiner hook for any type of harness. This enables me to take them to any necessary vet appointments, go on trips to the park or the beach, or evacuate safely if there were any kind of natural disaster. I also have multiple size crates that I can bring if your animal would feel safer in those. No matter what, I will make sure your pet is kept safe, healthy, and happy in their own home.

About: I’ve cared for dogs in a wide range of situations, including senior dogs, special-needs pups, and dogs recovering from injuries. Most dogs love nature, and it's exciting to see them perk up on walks at the sound of chirping birds, rustling brush, or a skittering lizard. There are great dog-friendly nature paths in Novato and San Rafael that give the pups both sniffing and social opportunities, so they come home tired and content. What I’m especially good at is communication. I pay close attention to a dog’s eyes, ears, posture, and energy, because they tell you so much before they ever make a sound. I use a gentle “dog voice” (yes, the sweet baby-talk voice) and clear, steady cues, because many dogs respond quickly to warmth, tone, and consistency. Even anxious or shy dogs usually soften when they realize they’re being understood. I’ve also cared for large dogs, and my Labrador retriever loves having big buddies to play with. No matter the size, age, or temperament, I’m respectful of each dog’s individual needs, and I make sure they feel safe, seen, and truly cared for with plenty of affection, attention, patience, and exercise. I currently work from home, and I have a (mostly) flexible schedule. I like to get out with my dog two times a day for 2+ mile walks on local trails and parks.
