“Cora has been such a great, reliable dog walker for us. She always showed up, communicated well, and took great care of our dogs. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in hiring her for your pets needs!”

About: Hello; I'm a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years experience caring for and living with all dogs big and small. I'm flexible, reliable, and love walking, hiking, and staying with pets. I currently work as a part-time illustrator and personal chef, but have most of my day open to devoting to your pets. I'm able to stay with and care for animals (both short and extended term), and am also available for drop-ins, walks, and hikes. I've cared for many pets and homes (both long and short term) for over a decade. I love taking dogs out to the trail, the beach, and the park, and also have experience with various walking, medication, and care routines.
“Noelle is wonderful. Mature, responsible, and handled both of our dogs well - one is a 45# puppy! Noelle will also be house sitting for us soon and we could not be happier about this.”

“Ryan was attentive to my pup’s needs and instructions. He was straightforward about scheduling and expectations. Super easy-going and approachable. Shiva came back tuckered out and content. Thank you! I was nervous to meet a new Rover walker after having been with my last one for a couple years, but now I feel super comfortable. Thank you, Ryan !”

About: With over two decades caring for animals, I understand the importance of consistency, structure, and heartfelt connection. I tailor care to their unique & individual energy level and temperament, making sure they feel safe, loved, and engaged. Skills include: • Providing daily walks, playtime, and mental stimulation • Administering medication and special dietary care • Following training cues and behavioral guidelines • Handling puppies, seniors, and animals with special needs • Ensuring safety and comfort during solo time or socialization • Offering basic grooming and cleanliness maintenance I’m dedicated to creating a fun, secure space for pets to thrive while their humans are away. I’m currently focused on getting a book published, which means my schedule can be flexible yet full—if you catch my drift. Working with animals not only keeps me inspired but also supports my growing business, which combines professional cleaning with attentive pet sitting. ⸻ Pet care is a meaningful and energizing part of my daily routine. Whether it’s morning walks, play sessions, feeding, or simply offering quiet companionship, I prioritize pets’ well-being and happiness every day. Because I’m currently working on publishing a book, I have the flexibility to dedicate focused, consistent time to each animal I care for. This means I can adapt my schedule to meet your pet’s specific needs—whether that’s extra playtime, medication administration, or simply being a calm presence while you’re away. Our family continues to heal from the loss of our beloved cat, Giraffe, last year. Caring for animals has been a vital source of comfort and strength as we embrace this new chapter. I’m dedicated to creating a clean, calm, and nurturing environment where pets feel safe and cherished. I look forward to providing thoughtful, reliable care for your furry family members while you’re away. Pet care is not just a job for me; it’s a source of inspiration and joy that fits naturally into my lifestyle and supports the balance I’m building in life here in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, my goal is always to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free environment tailored to their needs. In Your Home: I follow your routines closely — feeding schedules, exercise, medication, and any special instructions — so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible. I keep their space clean, respect their boundaries, and offer companionship and playtime based on their personality and energy level. I also ensure your home stays tidy and secure while you’re away. In My Home: If your pet stays with me, they’ll be welcomed into a calm, comfortable space where I prioritize consistency and care. I maintain a clean, pet-friendly environment with plenty of attention, exercise, and mental stimulation. I’m attentive to signs of stress or discomfort and adjust accordingly to keep them happy and relaxed. No matter the setting, I treat every animal like family — with patience, respect, and affection — ensuring they feel safe and loved throughout their stay.
“Michelle is an excellent dog Walker! She’s done a great job with my little girl VIDA. She is very in tune with her individual needs. I would highly recommend Michelle to walk your dog!”

About: I started dog walking and petsitting in 2022. I'm great at reinforcing recall and working with all kinds of dogs, from independent off-leash to dogs that are prone to separation anxiety. I’m the perfect person to hang out with and cuddle your furry friend while you’re away. I am currently working from home and part time at that so I have plenty of energy to devote to making sure your furry friend is well taken care of. I'm fairly active and get at least 2 walks in a day and enjoy hiking as well. I usually take dogs on walks 2x daily unless otherwise instructed. I am home for most of the day and am typically not gone from the home for more than a couple hours at a time. Love having the pets sleep with me and venture out to hiking spots or day trips if that is something that suits them.
“Alex has been incredibly reliable and caring with my dog. They’re gentle, kind, and clearly love what they do. I always feel at ease knowing my pup is in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I've grown up around dogs my whole life, and have had experience walking and taking care of them for years. I love dogs and want to make sure your dog feels safe and comfortable. I'm currently a student, so I'm available on weekends and weekdays. I'm flexible and I can accommodate dog walking and sitting into my regular schedule. Safety always comes first. I'll respect your space and make sure your pet feels comfortable above all. I want to communicate with you to understand your pet's needs and your rules about your space.
About: One of the nicest compliments I’ve received from a client was that, by the second or third day of their trip, they realized they simply weren’t worrying about their pets anymore. That’s exactly the kind of experience I hope to give every pet parent. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, extensive home gardens, and farm animals, including sheep and cattle. My house sits have ranged from weekend stays to two months of live-in care, and I’ve looked after energetic young dogs, independent cats, rabbits, and homes with large gardens requiring daily watering and occasional coordination with irrigation professionals. When I arrive, my first priority is always your pets. Before I bring in my suitcase, grab a glass of water, or make myself comfortable, I check on them, their food and water, litter or yard needs, and spend time saying hello so they can become comfortable with me. As a longtime meditator, I bring a naturally calm, patient presence and let each animal approach and settle at their own pace. One client told me it was remarkable to watch her energetic young dog become calmer around me. Clients often describe me as thoughtful, organized, clean, and proactive. I read care instructions carefully, ask questions before you leave so I understand your routines, communicate regularly with updates, photos, and videos, and let you know promptly if anything unexpected arises. I treat every home with the same care and respect I would want someone to show mine. I work primarily from home and online, so I can spend plenty of time keeping your pets company, maintaining their normal routines. I also genuinely love caring for gardens and houseplants. I have completed several multi-week garden sits, including caring for an extensive garden that required up to an hour of daily watering and communicating with an irrigation specialist when problems arose. I know how much trust it takes to hand someone your keys and the care of the companions you most love. My goal is simple: for you to enjoy your trip knowing that your furry loved ones, home, and plants are being cared for thoughtfully. I work primarily from home and online, so pet sitting fits naturally into my routine. During house sits, I can spend substantial time at home with your pets rather than leaving them alone for a full workday. I’m able to maintain their usual feeding, walking, play, and bedtime routines while providing plenty of calm companionship throughout the day. Because some of my work involves filming or occasional local outings, I’ll always discuss your pet’s needs and how long they can comfortably be left alone before confirming a booking. Longer stays are especially welcome. I care for pets in their own home, where they can remain in the environment and routine they already know. Before a stay, I carefully review feeding instructions, walking routes, house rules, emergency contacts, veterinary information, medications or health concerns, and anything that may make your pet anxious or uncomfortable. When I arrive, I immediately check on the animals, their food and water, litter boxes or yard needs, and spend time helping them feel comfortable before I settle in myself. I keep doors, gates, leashes, and household access secure, follow your instructions closely, and never introduce new foods, activities, animals, or visitors without permission. I send regular photos, videos, and updates, and I will contact you promptly if I notice any change in behavior, appetite, energy, digestion, or the condition of your home. I’m calm in unexpected situations, proactive about finding solutions, and respectful of your privacy and belongings. I also leave homes clean, orderly, and ready for a comfortable return.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Burdell. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Burdell.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
