Mary Jane was wonderful! She took such good care of our boy and she was so accommodating. It really eased my anxieties about leaving him for a night for the first time. She always communicated so clearly and quickly and was so patient and flexible with us. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

I appreciate the care Bella is given. She is excited to go. Roy and Bethany have worked around the times my granddaughter was able to take and pick up Bella. My grandson was on deployment and we were not prepared to care for Bella. We had to find a place when we went out of town and when she was a little anxious. If we have Bella again we will definitely check availability with Roy and Bethany.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was very young. Growing up my mother and I volunteered for dog rescue services. Doing that I cared for dogs big and small, old and young!! My family and friends often have me take care of their pets while they are away, so I’ve had plenty of experience! I currently go to school, so when school is in session there will be limited hours I can pet sit, however after school and on weekends, or summer I am free often! For the service of checking in on your dog at home, I can feed, water, play, and crate your pets whenever needed. I don’t mind doing anything that will help take the best care of your pet!

About: I’ve grown up with pets and taken care of friends and family’s animals. My dogs in particular had health issues, such as diabetes, that taught me a deeper level of animal care. With that, I learned how to administer insulin injections and respond to seizures. My job is flexible during the week, so I can adjust my hours to your pets needs! I do not have work or any other regular obligations during the weekend, too. I can bring the pet to my home where I live with my sister. I do not have a backyard, but I do have parks I can take them to or paths to walk on. Taking care of pets at the owners house is an option. In the past, I have stayed overnight at the owners house since their dogs felt uneasy being alone at night. Overall, I am flexible with what you and your pet are comfortable with.

About: Since I have been eight, I have cat and dog sit various of my friends and neighbors pets. For four years, I had worked at a dog daycare facility and groomers studio. I have lots of experience with variety of breeds and ages of dogs. I also have experience in training dogs for obedience and agility as well. I have always been in love with all types of pets which is why I have a career now in animal and wildlife health. I would love to help out with any types of pets and make it a great experience for the owner and the pet. I am current a graduate student and part-time field technician. My hours vary and are extremely flexible. I am unable to spend the entire time at my apartment but I will be there in the mornings and after work. I can also check in on the pets every three hours if needed as well. I have a larger apartment so the pet can have a room to itself if it is staying over. If I am boarding a dog, I plan on walking them in the mornings and afternoons if possible. I sadly do not have a backyard. However, I have a patio and a dog park five minutes away from my home. My apartment is also very close to parks and beaches that I could take your pet to as well. I also have a large space inside of my apartment for the pet to play in as well. If there are any other concerns or questions please let me know.

About: I began pet sitting in high school, visiting clients’ homes to feed their dogs and give them playtime while owners were away. Over time, this grew into a passion for understanding canine behavior. My interest in psychology, especially behavioral and humanistic approaches, along with my love for dogs, led me to earn my certification as a professional trainer. Whether I’m doing drop-ins, walks, boarding, or housesitting, I ensure every dog is enriched and cared for. I welcome all breeds and temperaments as if they were my own. My schedule is flexible for all types of dog care—except boarding and daycare. I use positive reinforcement to help keep your pup both physically and mentally stimulated. I'm versatile and reliable, and I’m fluent in both English and Spanish to ensure smooth communication with all pet parents. I offer companionship and affection to pets in the absence of their owners, maintaining their routine and minimizing stress. In addition I maintain contact with the owners to update them on their pet's activities and wellbeing.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I grew up in a home with multiple dogs—both small and large—so I’m very comfortable handling different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I previously worked at PetSmart as both a pet care associate and a dog trainer, where I gained valuable experience working with dogs of all temperaments, as well as cats and exotic pets. My training background allows me to better understand animal behavior, reinforce good habits, and handle pets with patience and confidence. Outside of work, I’m known for rescuing stray animals and even helping injured wildlife whenever I can—animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently have two dogs, two cats, and a snake of my own, so I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. Whether your pet needs structured care, playtime, walks, or just extra love and attention, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and dedicated to making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I work full-time Monday through Friday, but I’m available for drop-in visits in the mornings, during lunch, and after 4 PM. I also offer boarding in my home and can provide a safe, comfortable environment for your pet while you’re away. On weekends, I have full availability and can dedicate my time to caring for your pet, whether that’s drop-ins, walks, or boarding. I’m flexible and happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pet gets the care and attention they need! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and two friendly, well-socialized dogs who love having company. When I’m away from home, I crate my dogs to ensure they stay safe and secure, and I’m happy to follow your preferences regarding crating or routines for your pet. I always take a thoughtful, attentive approach to introductions and supervision to make sure all pets feel comfortable and stress-free in my home. You can feel confident knowing your pet will be in a safe, structured, and loving environment while in my care.

About: I have fostered dogs for four years and have experience with diverse breeds and personalities, including caring for dogs with high anxiety. I really enjoy fostering dogs and one of the greatest feelings I have experienced is knowing I have provided an animal with a safe space. I have also bottle fed baby kittens and am able to administer medication to pets. I live in an area that is by a park, as well as having a backyard, so animals will have plenty of opportunities to be outside and go for walks. I am also equipped with various solutions if I will be caring for multiple pets at a time, including having the ability to place them separately if needed. I would love to have the opportunity to care for your pets and provide them the same love and care I have given foster dogs. I am currently 100% free regarding availability to care for pets. My goal is to be provide pet care and boarding regularly and consistently because my career goal is to be in pet care long term. My backyard is fenced, providing pets who require being outdoors plenty of time to be outside. I will be available at all times to monitor them within the backyard and bring them back in in a timely manner. I also live by a park and will be able to take pets on walks as frequently as needed. Pets are free to safely roam all living spaces and will also have plenty of toys to entertain them. I also have crates to place them if that is needed/in case of emergency. I am adaptable to instructions regarding care for pets by owners preference.

About: I’ve had pets for 6 years now. I got my first Ragdoll cat in 2020, then raised a black Labrador from a puppy in 2021. We spent a lot of time together and went on a lot of trips, so he’s pretty used to new places and changes. My friends used to call my pets “travel pets.” In 2024, I also got a Siamese cat. I’m very used to having pets around all the time and spending long hours with them. I really enjoy being with animals. Being around pets makes me happy and gives me a lot of energy, and I’m more than happy to spend time just hanging out with them, playing, walking, or keeping them company. I’m a PhD student at Texas A&M, and I mostly work from home since my work is computer-based. I don’t need to go into an office except for occasional meetings, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I usually like to take pets out first thing after I wake up, and during the day I have plenty of breaks where I’m happy to spend time playing with them or just hanging out. I’m around most of the day, so pets are rarely left alone for long periods. I often watch my friends’ pets, especially when they go home for holidays or travel, so I’m used to caring for pets that are new to me. I’m pretty good at getting pets to feel comfortable quickly, and I always take things slow and let them set the pace. I keep my place clean and calm, and I’m careful about safety and routines. I want pets to feel safe and relaxed, not stressed.

Olivia is absolutely amazing. She agreed to watch my dog last minute while I was out of town for a week, which I really appreciated. We did a quick meet and greet, and Chilli was immediately comfortable with her! She also showed me where Chilli would be staying, and her place is super clean and well kept. You can tell she has a lot of experience (she’s fostered many dogs), and it shows in how she cares for them. While I was away, she sent plenty of pictures and kept me updated, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I genuinely didn’t have to worry at all. I have no notes! I’ll definitely be using her again. Thanks, Liv!

Since Vern is currently an only dog, getting the chance to safely socialize with Robert’s pack was a highlight—he clearly had a blast. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
