“We had Chris come do an in-home stay for the first time with our reactive pitbull and he crushed it! Reactive dogs are not the easiest to find sitters for and Chris was very accommodating with setting up a meet and great before hand and had even done his own research ahead of time to make sure he was knowledgeable before going through the introduction process. Our dog warmed up to him right away and she was able to immediately identify him as a safe person since he was so calm and easy going with her. When it came time for him to stay, all that was needed was a quick reminder and they were best buds for the rest of the weekend. He quickly learns her quirks. He sent daily pictures and updates. Then when we returned, our mail was stacked on the counter and the house was very neat, just as we left it, which is always appreciated when someone stays in your home. During the introduction stage he even requested to be shown where our cleaning supplies were and when our trash gets taken out. Chris was not only an excellent dog sitter, but a great house sitter as well! We are frequent travelers and will definitely be continuing to use Chris.”

“Jaclyn took great care of Sadie while we were gone for the weekend! Followed the instructions and went above and beyond to make sure Sadie felt loved the whole time. Lots of playing, belly rubs, and walks for our Pomchi!”

“Shea is a very nice respectful and polite girl. Her communication is always timely. She was punctual with her arrival time, allowing us to leave a few minutes earlier than planned for our trip. She wasn’t afraid to send a text later in the evening when our dog was having trouble settling down. She sent a couple updates and photos during her stay with our dog and everything went well. We will definitely keep her in the rotation for when we need care for our dog!”

“Sarah is a FANTASTIC dog sitter! I knew when I met her that she’d be a perfect fit. She was kind and gentle with my dog, and brought a clipboard with questions which just showed how serious she was about giving the best care to my pup. During the stay I got lots of updates and cute photos and I could tell that my dog was so happy, got lots of exercise, and was very adequately snuggled ?? I will definitely book Sarah again. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Ruth took excellent care of our two dogs while we were out of town. She kept us up to date with texts and messages which I really appreciate! She even taught our younger dog a new trick! Will definitely book again and highly recommend!”

“Kayla stayed at our house for a week with our 2 dogs and she did an excellent job. We highly recommend her for any of your needs with babysitting your animals when you’re thinking of getting away. We will definitely be using Kayla in the future.”

“Rachael provided Winnie with excellent care and companionship while we were away for a few days. Winnie cannot wait to have Rachael stay with him again here at home sometime soon!”

About: Hi! My name is Lesa. I’m a mother & wife in my 40’s. I am a conscientious and dependable dog/animal lover, with a lifetime of experience in personal and pet care. I currently have one client where I am responsible for 11 rescue dogs that I take care of and play with daily in addition to cats, rabbits, and fish. I have two beautiful fur babies, Butters & Bailey, both lab mixes that I rescued to give a better life to. I have been very lucky over the years, with love, patience and some obedience training, all of my rescue dogs have been wonderful additions to my family. I am flexible with my schedule and am willing to meet the needs of your fur baby/family.
“We had a wonderful experience with Samantha as our dog sitter! She was incredibly professional and responsible throughout her stay. Samantha took excellent care of our two older dogs, Karma and Bailey, providing daily pictures and updates that gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She made sure Karma received her nightly medication and handled it with care and confidence. Samantha also went above and beyond in keeping our home tidy—cleaning up after the dogs in the yard and even starting a load of laundry with the bedding before she left. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about our pets’ well-being. We highly recommend her and would absolutely book with her again!”
“This was the 2nd time we had Rebecca house sit our dog. She sent us cute pictures and videos, and from them it was obvious that our dog was very happy and relaxed. She is also very clean and respectful. We are so happy that we found her and our dog bonded with her so well.”

“Jessica was really great with our boys! They’re new to us and we didn’t know what to expect with a sitter but needed to attend a memorial today with short notice and reached out to Jessica just a couple days ago. Not only did she make herself available on short notice, she also made sure she could come by earlier today with her kids to see how everyone would interact. This was really helpful to familiarize everyone in advance and a big help to us to see how well our boys got along with “human puppies” - worked out so great! While we were gone, Jessica sent a bunch of FANTASTIC pics to keep us informed. Being new to our dogs and this being the first time we hired at home sitters for them, I think Jessica and I learned a few things simple we can do to clarify communication with each other in advance which went really well considering we had so little time to prepare! Would definitely welcome Jessica and the kids back again - our boys really loved them and enjoyed their time together - and they were happily exhausted when we got home still sleeping some 4 hours later! Thanks Jessica!”

I know the importance of pet care and how to have close and fun relationships with all animals, especially cats and dogs! I’m an animal lover at heart and grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and various farm animals. I am extremely patient with animals and making sure they are taken care of, nurtured, and treated well are my top priorities as well as having fun with them! Pet care fits into my daily routine very easily! I currently take care of two cats at home and have grown up around animals so I am comfortable around them ! I am fairly available and my schedule is the following: Monday: 9 am - 10/11 pm Tuesday : 9 am - 10/11 pm Wednesday: 9 am - 10/11 pm Thursday: 9 am - 10/11 pm Friday : 9 am - 10/11 pm Saturday: 9 am - 10/11 pm Sunday : 9 am - 10/11 pm I live in a very safe area where there are many parks and fields of land surrounding it making it a prime location to have animals. I have no problem walking great distances and being patient with animals especially dogs when it comes to bathroom time. I always have a great time with very lovable, friendly, and energetic dogs and cats and enjoy spending time with them and making sure they are happy and having fun! I can always give them treats, play with them and encourage them to play with their toys, and stay with them for as long as needed! Moreover bonding with them is a process that is individual to every animal, it is not something I can rush and I will take the time to get to know every pet. If anything were to happen during my time with them I will always be available to connect with!
“Linda was wonderful! She house Sat/cared for our two dogs while we were away on vacation. She sent us daily updates regarding the dogs, letting us know how they ate, played, etc. and daily photos as well. She was easy to contact and responded quickly. We will gladly have Linda stay with our dogs again soon!”

“Sarah and Jim came to our rescue when our previously booked sitter cancelled shortly before our scheduled trip. We are so grateful for their flexibility and the care that they gave to our two senior girls. We returned home to very happy and relaxed puppers! We highly recommend their services!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Broad Brook
Rachael is wonderful! Bud loved his time with her and was happy when we came home. She sat for us over the 4th of July holiday weekend, so she had to contend with any fireworks or loud partying, and there were no issues. I love that she sent us pictures each day of Bud (she's also great at taking those pictures - so cute!). That really put my heart at ease. I will 100% use her again if she is available next time I need someone!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Broad Brook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Broad Brook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Broad Brook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
