“Linda was wonderful! She house Sat/cared for our two dogs while we were away on vacation. She sent us daily updates regarding the dogs, letting us know how they ate, played, etc. and daily photos as well. She was easy to contact and responded quickly. We will gladly have Linda stay with our dogs again soon!”

“Jaclyn watched our 2 dogs and 2 cats for a 3 night pet sitting booking. Jaclyn took the time to understand each pet's needs and personalities, to then give them the best care and love in our absence. She kept in communication with daily summaries and pictures so we had peace of mind while we were away. Jaclyn she did laundry and remade the bed up knowing we were getting back home in the wee hours, a gesture that speaks to her character. Jaclyn is dependable and trustworthy and I highly recommend her for pet sitting!”

“Ruth is a wonderful pet sitter! She is very thoughtful and respectful of our pups routines and needs. She sent multiple messages and photos everyday with updates. Ruth is very easy to communicate with and I would highly recommend her for your pet needs!”

About: I had a whole slew of my own animals at home from horses to little snakes and everything in between. I absolutely love working and volunteering with all ages of dogs and cats, I personally have dealt with and endless amount of fresh babies and end of life care seniors. I’m open to whatever they throw at me, that’s the best part! I’ve worked with aggressors, muzzled sweetie pies, and the dopiest pups all over. Let me learn their personality and I’ll tailor myself to whatever they need! I come home to my mini zoo every day! I do long walks, yoga with the kitties, exciting feeding times, and lots of chilling out in the barn or on the couch, whichever lil friend needs the most. I spend all my time with shelter animals if I’m not at home, or if I’m at work I’ll be scrolling on Petfinder seeing what I can manage and provide for LOL Id love to use the term “gentle paw-renting,” but honestly it can be chaotic at times and you just have to go with the flow! I prefer to be chilled out with your little babies and just shower all the love, but if they need to go run around the block and rip some cardboard up, let’s do it and I’ll make sure your home is just as it was prior to my visit :) you deserve stress free and they deserve a nourishing and fun filled day!
“Sarah and Jim did such a great job taking care of our labs, Moose & Butter. They were very thorough and flexible. One of our dogs is a puppy and they were very attentive to her schedule and specific needs.”

“Rebecca was AMAZING. VERY RESPONISIBLE and LOVING to our two elderly furry family members while she took care of them over a 5 day period. Our only option was a 5 STAR RATING however she is in an ELITE GROUP that is WAY ABOVE the 5 star rating scale.”

“Exceeded expectations! Gouda has her anxiety isse(which leads to us having our own issues) but Eddie handled all of us well, even with his own family challenges coming up while we were away. Would definitely use him again!”
“We had Chris come do an in-home stay for the first time with our reactive pitbull and he crushed it! Reactive dogs are not the easiest to find sitters for and Chris was very accommodating with setting up a meet and great before hand and had even done his own research ahead of time to make sure he was knowledgeable before going through the introduction process. Our dog warmed up to him right away and she was able to immediately identify him as a safe person since he was so calm and easy going with her. When it came time for him to stay, all that was needed was a quick reminder and they were best buds for the rest of the weekend. He quickly learns her quirks. He sent daily pictures and updates. Then when we returned, our mail was stacked on the counter and the house was very neat, just as we left it, which is always appreciated when someone stays in your home. During the introduction stage he even requested to be shown where our cleaning supplies were and when our trash gets taken out. Chris was not only an excellent dog sitter, but a great house sitter as well! We are frequent travelers and will definitely be continuing to use Chris.”

“Allie was awesome ! She spent the entire week with my crew and i honestly feel like they didn’t want me to come home . She followed my instructions to a t and even stripped the bed . Will definitely be using her in the future”

“Ella was absolutely fantastic! She took wonderful care of our two dogs and our home while we were away. We especially appreciated the photo & video updates throughout our trip, which gave us peace of mind and let us see how happy and well cared for our pups were. Ella is reliable, caring, and quick to respond. We feel very lucky to have found her & would love to have her sit for us again!”

“Kelsey did great with our energetic puppy. She was very diligent about listening to all the things we told her about our dog, environment and needs. I would highly recommend.”

I currently work part time so I have plenty of time to watch your furry friends. Would prefer advance notice to make sure it is a good fit and everything works out! I will try my best to work around your schedule. I can watch your pups in your home preferred as I live in an apartment that doesn’t allow dogs. I can watch cats in my home depending, would love to chat to hear more!

About: Hi! My name is Lesa. I’m a mother & wife in my 40’s. I am a conscientious and dependable dog/animal lover, with a lifetime of experience in personal and pet care. I currently have one client where I am responsible for 11 rescue dogs that I take care of and play with daily in addition to cats, rabbits, and fish. I have two beautiful fur babies, Butters & Bailey, both lab mixes that I rescued to give a better life to. I have been very lucky over the years, with love, patience and some obedience training, all of my rescue dogs have been wonderful additions to my family. I am flexible with my schedule and am willing to meet the needs of your fur baby/family.

“Annie took incredible care of my two dogs and my house while I was away on vacation and I could not ask for a better sitter! My dogs are both seniors on daily medication, anxious barkers, and attached to me at the hip on their daily routine… but I think they were a little disappointed when I came home and it wasn’t Annie walking through the door! I received updates and pictures while I was away which helped me relax and know everything was going well while I was gone. I truly cannot recommend her enough and will definitely rebook!”

“Alexis has been an amazing sitter for my babies! The one can be a handful with a combination of hound and puppy energy that can make anyone weary, but Alexis was great with him! I came home to a house that looked better than I left it! She was very communicative and sent photos, too. I am already using her in a few weeks again and wouldn’t hesitate to book again and again!”

About: I’ve loved animals since I was young, always being known to be the person who asks “Can I pet your dog?”. Having grown up living with and partially helping to train my grandparent’s standard poodle puppy at age 9, I knew then that I wanted animals in my life forever. Through the years I’ve done fundraisers for local shelters, looked after and groomed family dogs, given pet care advice, and for the last four years have worked professionally as a kennel attendant. My job has always been a joy to me, and despite its stresses I always tell people that caring for animals is the best job I could ever ask for. I’ve been able to meet and work with pets of all different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and abilities; from blind/deaf dogs, senior dogs, aggressive dogs, puppies/kittens, diabetic dogs and cats, and so many more. Each of them provides an invaluable experiences that teaches me patience, compassion, and communication. I’m now the proud owner of a 11 month old cat, Balrog, and of a 13 year old chihuahua, Mia. Though I am a full time student and a part time kennel attendant, I am able to be more flexible with my schedule over summer break. My current availability is as follows, Monday: Unavailable Tuesday: All day Wednesday: All day Thursday: All day Friday: All day Saturday: All day Sunday: Unavailable While I do not have any space in my home to keep animals at the moment, in a clients home I am happy to play with pets, let them out or go on walks, crate if desired, clean up any possible mess, and overall act as a safe and friendly part of a pet’s environment in any way possible.
“Rachael is a total natural with dogs. From the moment she walked in, our dogs responded positively to her warm, easygoing vibe, and we just knew we had made the right choice. Rachael was highly responsive to messages and provided multiple updates (with pics!) that showed us that she clearly “got” each of our dogs’ personalities/quirks. I don’t even thinks the dogs missed us, they were too busy basking in the attention of their sweet new friend who ensured they had the predictable comforts of their daily routines. Rachael was everything you could ask for, from someone staying in your home with your precious pets.”

Ella was absolutely fantastic! She took wonderful care of our two dogs and our home while we were away. We especially appreciated the photo & video updates throughout our trip, which gave us peace of mind and let us see how happy and well cared for our pups were. Ella is reliable, caring, and quick to respond. We feel very lucky to have found her & would love to have her sit for us again!

We had a wonderful first experience with Camber and would absolutely use her again! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive to our initial outreach, which immediately gave us confidence. When she came to meet our dogs, she was calm, patient, and took the time to let them get comfortable with her at their own pace. She also asked thoughtful, detailed questions to make sure she fully understood their routines and needs. While we were away for spring break, she provided frequent updates and photos, which we really appreciated—it made it so much easier to relax knowing our dogs were in good hands. She went above and beyond by checking in to see if there was anything she could help with around the house! When we returned home, everything was in great shape, and our dogs were happy and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and thoughtful dog sitter. Thank you, Camber - you’re the best!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rockville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rockville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rockville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
