Jaclyn watched our 2 dogs and 2 cats for a 3 night pet sitting booking. Jaclyn took the time to understand each pet's needs and personalities, to then give them the best care and love in our absence. She kept in communication with daily summaries and pictures so we had peace of mind while we were away. Jaclyn she did laundry and remade the bed up knowing we were getting back home in the wee hours, a gesture that speaks to her character. Jaclyn is dependable and trustworthy and I highly recommend her for pet sitting!

Rebecca has also been very communicative and flexible, which we greatly appreciate. She’s an awesome sitter!

About: I genuinely treat every pet like my own, with patience, love, and attention to their unique needs. I have experience training puppies, helping with potty routines and basic commands, as well as caring for senior pets who need a little extra TLC, whether it’s administering medication or moving at their pace. I pay close attention to details, and I’m always happy to give updates so you feel connected and reassured while you're away. I’m currently a stay at home mom with my sweet 3 year old boy, Rottweiler pup Kaiya, and senior cat Madeline. I would be more than happy to share my time with your pets, giving them the love and attention they need while you’re away. I do my best to keep your pet’s routine as normal and stress free as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, and medication schedules exactly as you outline, and I always take time to play, cuddle, and keep them company. I treat your home with the same respect I’d expect for my own, clean, secure, and well cared for. I also provide regular updates, so you always know how your pet is doing while you're away.

Our dog was injured three days before a trip, and our regular kennel couldn’t accommodate the special care needed. We turned to Rover at the last minute and were lucky to find Tucker. Tucker responded right away and came by for a home visit the very next day, immediately putting us at ease. Tucker has a natural connection with animals and provided exceptional care for our two dogs and three cats. One of our dogs required medication and needed to stay calm to avoid further injury—Tucker handled everything perfectly. We received regular photo updates, and the house was left spotless. We were initially skeptical about using Rover, but after this experience, we now prefer it over traditional kennels. Highly recommend Tucker!

If you’re looking for a reason to book someone-look no further, you won’t be disappointed in Joanna. Joanna and her daughter Amelia were fantastic! I was given updates about my pups consistently making my week vacation worry free with everything at home. Joanna works from home mainly so she was with my dogs throughout the day, major plus. They walked one of my dogs regularly and followed my wishes to not walk the older one, *due to arthritis he can’t do walks. My elderly dog who really doesn’t like people, especially young kids cuddled with Joanna’s daughter, Amelia! That was a sight to see, if she didn’t send the photo I wouldn’t believe it. Heartwarming to see that my angry at life dog was happily cuddling up with someone other than me, what more could you ask for when away from them? When I came home I could very much tell my dogs were taken care of with love and my house was in better shape than I left it for them. I will definitely be using Joanna and her daughter again for future trips.

About: Hi all! I’ve been pet-sitting since very young (age 10), having experience with various dog breeds and sizes as well as cats. Feel free to reach out so we can connect! I currently work per diem, so I have plenty of free time to care for little ones. I tend to have open availability, even for last minute requests! I am very open and able to follow any requests concerning your little ones. I understand that every pet is different when it comes to their needs, so I am very accommodating and willing to learn how to best care for your baby!

About: The best part of any given day for me is usually seeing a dog or cat. I’ve been recommended by friends and neighbors to take care of their lovable critters and figured I’d give Rover a try! I am currently working part time and have plenty of flexibility when it comes to pet care opportunities. I like to spend more time rather than less when it comes to lovable pets. I enjoy playing with pets if they are the playful type. If not, then I’m comfortable just being there with them. Sometimes they just don’t want to be alone. But if the zoomies kick in, I can keep up!

About: I have been asked to take care of dogs/cats while family have been out of town on many occasions I have 3 of my own cats and niece and nephew cat (yes) lol also two puppers that are family a newphie and great Pyrenees. Animals are my family and I feel happier with them than I do with people. Depending on location I can be available when needed. I work from home I can be flexible as long as I am communicated with in a timely manner As I have three cats I wouldn’t be able to bring any other pets into my home as they are rescues who have severe anxiety and to keep my fur babies safe I would ask that they be respected and I can only make home visits. Thank you !

Claudine is simply the best! She went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable leaving our dog in her hands. Her warm energy was so appreciated and she provided us with tons of updates (and great photos). Our dog seemed very well taken care of, relaxed and happy when we returned. She was also a very good communicator, thoughtful, and left detailed notes about bathroom breaks and other behavior. We felt at ease having Claudine in our home, and will use her again in the future!

This was our first booking with Rover and we can't say enough about how well-cared for our dog was. Claudine's communication was exceptional. Shaylah was a lifesaver!!! My original dogsitter canceled less than 24 hours before we left for a long weekend and Shaylah answered the call to take care of the pups! She replied to my urgent plea within 5 minutes and changed her evening plans to drive to us that night to meet the dogs and get a tour if the house and all our specific needs. We have an elder dog that has to wear diapers and we make all the dog food and she needed beds as well. No problem for Shaylah!!! By the next morning we were on a plane and the dogs were so well cared for! Lots of pictures and updates which made me feel so much better, really can't say enough about her! She is a gem!!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Manchester

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Manchester on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,335 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Manchester. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manchester walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manchester maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manchester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Manchester. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
