About: I’ve had cats and dogs my entire life and currently help care for a high-energy Border Collie/Sheltie mix and three cats. I have experience caring for senior and special-needs pets, including administering transdermal and liquid medications and helping manage ongoing medical care for a cat with hyperthyroidism. I also helped care for a dog with hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, and liver disease, giving me experience following specialized care routines and monitoring pets with chronic health conditions. I’m comfortable reading cat and dog body language, handling multi-pet households, and caring for cats who are skilled escape artists. I understand that every pet has its own personality, routine, and needs, and I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. I work part-time Tuesday through Thursday from 3–6 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM–3 PM. Outside of those hours, I have flexible availability for drop-in visits and house sitting and can provide feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and medication administration as needed. When caring for pets in their home, I follow their routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to cat and dog body language, take extra care with pets who may try to escape, and make sure doors, gates, and other safety measures are always secure. I’m also comfortable caring for senior and special-needs pets and administering medications according to owner instructions.
About: What sets me apart as a sitter is the level of genuine care, attentiveness, and patience I bring to every pet I work with. I treat every animal as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in my care. I have experience with a wide range of pets, from energetic puppies who need consistent training and structure, to senior dogs requiring gentle handling, medication, and a slower pace. I’m confident in reading animal behavior and adjusting to their needs, whether that means helping a shy pet come out of their shell or keeping a high-energy pup mentally and physically stimulated. I’m also reliable, clean, and communicative with pet parents so you always feel at ease while you’re away. I’m currently home for the summer, which means I have lots of flexibility and time to dedicate to your furry friend! I absolutely love getting my steps in—so walks, playtime, and keeping your pet active are right up my alley. Whether it’s a game of tug-of-war, fetch, or working their brain with fun puzzles, I’m all about keeping pets happy, healthy, and mentally stimulated. What sets me apart is the energy and attentiveness I bring to every visit. I don’t just “watch” pets—I engage with them, connect with them, and make sure they feel safe and loved. Whether your pup needs structured walks or your senior dog needs a little extra care and patience, I’ve got them covered. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I make it a priority to create a safe, calm, and loving environment where your pet can thrive. In my home, I keep things clean, cozy, and pet-friendly. I stick to your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible—meals, walks, playtime, and even snuggle time. I make sure they feel like part of the family, with lots of attention, enrichment, and love throughout the day.
“Andrea is amazing!!! She has dog sat for our puppies multiple times and is so great. They love her and she gives us such a peace of mind when we travel. She will send you updates on how your dog(s) are doing and pictures too if you want them. This last time she pet sat, she she put our garage lights on for us so when we came home at night we wouldn’t be completely in the dark and set the pups up with their peanut butter bones and a light for them too. She is awesome and we will definitely use her again! Highly recommend!!”

About: Since I can remember I have always been around dogs and cats in my life, mostly rescues, who needed training and caring for. I currently pet sit for my family when they are away, and walk dogs for family friends. When I was a professional cleaner I encountered all breeds and ages of cats and dogs every single day so I am very comfortable around all types of pets. I especially love and have experience with pitty breeds as well as experience with some reactive cats and know what to do to gain their trust. When not taking care or animals, I am a freelance dancer and choreographer! I take dance class some evenings and may have a weekend show or rehearsals. Other than that, I am readily available especially during the morning, afternoons, and later in the evenings/overnight for your furry friends! Before we officially book, I will make sure we have a meet and greet so that your pet can get to know me as we talk about all your needs for my visit! Along with any of your pet's special needs, I will ask you to leave me with any emergency contact information just in case anything were to happen, as well as my personal contact info. I also will send you updates for your peace of mind as well as some adorable pictures of your pet(s)!
“Renee was great with our dogs. She came and visited before her first house sitting for us and the dogs acclimated to her quickly. When we got home we could tell our dogs were well taken care of. We will have her house sit again for us.”

About: I've been blessed to grow up with a pet best friend my entire life whether from dogs & cats to hamsters, guinea pigs, and parakeets. My wife and I will treat your pet as it is our own! My wife works remotely from home and I am a PhD student with a flexible schedule and weekend availability. Our schedules allow for frequent walks, bathroom breaks, play time, and lots of attention. We also have a rescued 1yr old goldendoodle who is neutered and loves other dogs. Your pet will never feel alone! While safety is our top priority, your pet's happiness and care is just as important. We live in a 3-story townhouse with an unfenced yard but live across the street from a park where we take our dog on daily walks. There also a few nearby dog parks if you prefer for your dog to run off-leash. Your pet will have full range to our entire home and we will make sure they feel right at home!
“I had a great experience with Carol. She took care of my four dogs while house sitting and did an excellent job managing everything. Even with multiple dogs and a few rainy days, she stayed on top of their care and made sure they were comfortable and well loved. She sent multiple updates and photos throughout the stay, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. It was also clear from her messages and photos that she showed genuine affection toward my dogs, which meant a lot to me. It was clear she treated my home with respect and took her responsibilities seriously. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring sitter.”

Once again, Allie has done an incredible job watching our pups. She took such good care of our dogs and our home while we were out of the country for 10 days. She's the absolute best sitter and is so communicative and thoughtful. And most importantly, our dogs love her! Allie went above and beyond, and we will absolutely reach out to her again. This was our second time having Allie watch the pups, and it won’t be the last!

Our dogs were very comfortable with Angelisse when we introduced her to them, I could tell right away she has a way with animals. Angelisse also kept us well informed about our pups throughout our time away. Definitely reach out to her if you need a good pet sitter. She is fantastic!

Andrea did a fantastic job watching our two dogs and cat (and frog). She is a an excellent communicator and gave us daily updates with pictures. The pets were well cared for and the house was clean and tidy when we arrived home. Overall an exceptional experience and we will certainly use her again in the future.

This was our first booking with Rover and we can't say enough about how well-cared for our dog was. Claudine's communication was exceptional. She went above and beyond to try and manage some issues our pup has been having with paw-licking. It was clear that she was thoughtful and careful about her resposibilities with Patron and we would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Shaylah was a lifesaver!!! My original dogsitter canceled less than 24 hours before we left for a long weekend and Shaylah answered the call to take care of the pups! She replied to my urgent plea within 5 minutes and changed her evening plans to drive to us that night to meet the dogs and get a tour if the house and all our specific needs. We have an elder dog that has to wear diapers and we make all the dog food and she needed beds as well. No problem for Shaylah!!! By the next morning we were on a plane and the dogs were so well cared for! Lots of pictures and updates which made me feel so much better, really can't say enough about her! She is a gem!!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Manchester
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Manchester on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,360 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Manchester. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manchester walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manchester maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manchester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
