Renee was great with our dogs. She came and visited before her first house sitting for us and the dogs acclimated to her quickly. When we got home we could tell our dogs were well taken care of. We will have her house sit again for us.

Shannon watched our two huskies and stayed in our home while we were away for a weekend. She took excellent care of our home, collected our mail, and took the best care of our Doggos. She sent several picture updates of our dogs which helped immensely. We will definitely use her in the future and highly recommend her to others!

Detail oriented, thorough, kind, excellent planning and foresight, just awesome! This was my first Rover experience at the time of my booking I had an elderly dog and three cats, we had not gone on vacation in years due to our dog having arthritis and other health issues, but we had gotten her to a point where she was doing really well and we felt we could leave her with someone. I needed someone who could administer meds, live at the house and be otherwise highly attentive to her needs and our cats. I had about given up on some of the people I’d spoken with on Rover, I just didn’t feel comfortable with anyone. Enter Jillian. In our initial texts I got a very positive vibe and immediately liked her. We hadn’t even met yet but I could tell she was a gem. When she came to the house to meet our pets she was aces and again I instinctively knew she was going to be great. Since our meeting our dog very suddenly passed away and when I let Jillian know her response was compassionate and she gave me some time to figure out what we would do. When we spoke again we decided on two visits a day for the cats and she sprang into action to adjust our booking. Jillian was every bit as great as I knew she would be and even surpassed my expectations. This woman is thorough, she thinks ahead, she looks to solve issues even before they happen. We had a snow storm while we were gone and she made sure she got to the house. We received daily photos of all of the cats, who by the way hide from strangers all the time, but not Jillian! I think she’s a cat whisperer of some sort. She was on time for her visits, left the place clean, took her shoes off to walk around the house, so thoughtful!! On prior vacations when I’ve left my pets I always notice they’re a little ‘off’ when I return, not with Jillian. They were very much themselves which speaks volumes. I highly highly highly recommend her. We are already booking another trip because this was the first time in years that I really relaxed and didn’t feel any worry about the pets.

Joanna and her daughter took excellent care of our two dogs and our house! They kept us updated with frequent photos of our dogs, which was a nice touch. This was our first time booking on Rover so we were a little nervous, but after meeting Joanna, we were at ease. She exceeded all of our expectations and we plan on booking her again during our next vacation. She is a top notch pet/house sitter! A+++ Thank you, Joanna!!

About: The best part of any give day for me is usually seeing a dog or cat. I’ve been recommended by friends and neighbors to take care of their lovable critters and figured I’d give Rover a try! I am currently working part time and have plenty of flexibility when it comes to pet care opportunities. I like to spend more time rather than less when it comes to lovable pets. I enjoy playing with pets if they are the playful type. If not, then I’m comfortable just being there with them. Sometimes they just don’t want to be alone. But if the zoomies kick in, I can keep up!

It felt so good going away and leaving our dog and cat and house in janette’s care. We booked her super last minute for Thanksgiving week and she came and did a meet and greet next day and was very sweet with our pets and sent pictures and updates. Highly recommend and will definitely connect with her again for care.

Ariana and her daughter were amazing house/dog sitters for our 12 year old Puggle, Finn. Finn took to them immediately which instantly eased my mind. It was obvious that they were true animal people. Ariana provided excellent communication/updates throughout our weekend away, and the house was left immaculate upon our return. If you want stress-free, trustworthy care for your pets, I would highly recommend Ariana.

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was a kid, and caring for them is something that comes naturally to me. I’m heading to UMass to study Animal Science and hope to join the National Guard to gain EOD bomb-sniffing dog experience. I currently own a high-energy Border Collie/Australian Kelpie mix I rescued, and I’ve also cared for an elderly Shih Tzu who needed lots of special attention and patience. I’m very work-oriented, reliable, and people have told me I’m great with customer service. Neighbors, friends, and family often count on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets, and I truly love every moment of it. As a full-time student, I’ve built a schedule that still gives me plenty of time for pet care. I’m available Mondays after 5 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays after 12 PM, and Wednesdays after 4 PM. On weekends, my availability is more flexible, which means I can give pets the attention and exercise they need without feeling rushed. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they always feel safe and cared for. I’ve had experience with high-energy dogs as well as older pets who need more patience and special care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or sticking to a feeding routine, I make sure to keep things consistent so pets feel comfortable. If I’m caring for pets in your home, I’ll respect your rules and routines to keep everything familiar and stress-free for them.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. Over the years I've shared my home with English Mastiffs, a Miniature Pinscher, a Pit Bull, a rescue mixed breed, a German Shepherd, a Tibetan Terrier, and an Alaskan Malamute. I've also cared for cats, ferrets, and lizards. Living with such a wide variety of animals has taught me that every pet has their own personality, needs, and routine. I've cared for pets through every stage of life, from raising puppies and kittens to providing compassionate care for senior pets in their final years. I'm experienced with administering medications, staying patient during treatments, and making sure pets feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Having lived with English Mastiffs and an Alaskan Malamute, I'm very comfortable caring for giant breeds and dogs that require a confident, steady handler. I'm also experienced with strong pullers and understand that consistency, positive reinforcement, and patience go a long way in building trust. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets the time, attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve while you're away. Whether your dog enjoys long walks and playtime or prefers a slower pace and extra cuddles, I'm happy to adapt to their individual needs and routine. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care, and I'll treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is safe, happy, and cared for with the same love and attention I'd give my own animals. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to adapt to your pet's routine, whether they need regular walks, playtime, medication, or simply extra companionship throughout the day. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care that helps your pet feel comfortable and gives you peace of mind while you're away. Every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and respected in their own environment. I carefully follow your instructions and maintain your pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and playtime. I believe trust is earned through patience and consistency, so I always let pets become comfortable at their own pace while providing attentive, compassionate care. I also treat every client's home with the same respect and care I would expect in my own.

We had to go out of town - leaving our 5 pets one of whom was a new adoptee with some trust issues and one of whom needed some medication and tlc. Sherri came over to meet us all and I was quickly assured that the pets would all be in great hands with her. I was able to enjoy my trip without worrying about our cats and dogs. The animals all warmed up to her quickly and she sent me lots of photos and reached out with any questions. We came home to happy pets and a well cared for house. I highly recommend her!

It was our first time having an inhouse pet sitter and Brien was wonderful. He was willing to meet with us a couple of weeks before hand which reassured us about having a stranger in our house. When a last minute health issue threw our plans up in the air, he was very empathetic and willing to work with us. We did get away as planned and Brien sent us a daily update and photos. Our dog is 15 years old, so a health issue can always develop unexpectedly, but Brien was confident he could hand anything that comes along. Highly recommend.

FAQs for House Sitting - Glastonbury Center

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Glastonbury Center on Rover is $32.1 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,430 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glastonbury Center. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glastonbury Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glastonbury Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glastonbury Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glastonbury Center. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
