“Grace was wonderful with my cat, Misha. She gave me regular updates and followed my cat’s super particular schedule. My cat was acting well loved when I got home. Everything went great; and I would not hesitate to have Grace housesit my cat again.”

“We absolutely loved having Rachel watch our dogs! She was patient, attentive, and sent great updates and photos every day. Our dogs were clearly well cared for, and our house was spotless when we got home. We’ll definitely book her again!”

“Renee was great with our dogs. She came and visited before her first house sitting for us and the dogs acclimated to her quickly. When we got home we could tell our dogs were well taken care of. We will have her house sit again for us.”

About: I had a maltese puppy for 10 years from age 9 weeks onward and most recently had a shih tzu puppy that turned 1 on 5/28/25. In the past I've had pets including hamsters, guinea pigs, chickens, and fish of my own. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so your pup will get lots of attention and care throughout the day. Here's what a typical day looks like when your dog is with me: 🐾 Morning (7am–10am): Potty break, breakfast, and a light walk or play session 🐾 Midday (11am–2pm): Walks, potty breaks, enrichment games, or just relaxing cuddle time 🐾 Afternoon (3pm–6pm): Another walk or active playtime in a safe, calm environment 🐾 Evening (7pm–9pm): Dinner, a final potty break, and winding down for the night I'm available for: ✅ Drop-in visits ✅ Dog walking ✅ Puppy care Weekend and holiday availability included! I’m happy to accommodate special routines, medications, or specific instructions your dog needs to feel comfortable and loved. When you trust me to care for your dog, I show up with love, respect, and attention to detail — all in the comfort of your dog’s familiar surroundings. 🐶 In-Home Peace of Mind: I care for pets in their own homes, where they feel most secure. Whether I’m dropping in for a quick visit, taking your pup for a walk, or staying overnight, I follow your routine closely to minimize stress and keep your dog calm and happy. 🦴 Personalized, Gentle Care: I specialize in small breeds and have over 10 years of experience. From meal schedules and potty routines to medication or calming techniques, I provide care tailored to your dog’s specific needs. 🚶🏽♀️ Safe & Engaging Walks: Walks are done one-on-one in familiar areas, with close attention to your pet’s energy level, leash behavior, and comfort. I avoid crowded dog parks or risky environments to keep your dog safe. 📝 Trustworthy & Transparent: I communicate clearly, provide updates, and send photos during every visit. You’ll always know how your pet is doing, whether I’m there for 20 minutes or staying the night. Your pet stays safe, your home is respected, and you can relax knowing your furry family member is in loving, responsible hands.
“Couldn’t get any better, very responsive and easy to communicate with, house was perfect and my babies were well cared for. Went above and beyond with a few things, will definitely book again 💓”

“Shannon was absolutely amazing! We felt completely at ease during our vacation, knowing our dogs were in excellent care. She provided frequent updates and photos, which we truly appreciated. Our house looked just as we left it.Our house was exactly as we had left it. I highly recommend Shannon as a sitter; we’re so glad we found her!”

“Rebecca made our two dogs pet sitting experience perfect (for us). We were able to get away without having to worry about them. Her constant communication and pictures and videos were perfect. Thank you Rebecca. Once again for taking care of our family’s two most important members!”

About: Pets are my life, and I give them my full care and attention when in their presence. In previous experiences, I have cleaned litter boxes, administered medications, taken long walks (I'm an avid runner and can even take your dog for a run if they like it!), fed both wet and dry food, and dealt with anxious pets. I am a fairly free agent during breaks from college and can schedule my day around when your pet needs a walk or food! I can come as early as 7am and as late as 9pm! I am very respectful when it comes to coming over and caring for your pets. If you give me clear instructions where food and leash and/or medicine is I will do my duties, hang out with your pet for a while (and send you a cute pic), and leave everything else the way it was. I do not offer to have pets stay at my house.
“Jillian was great! Good communication and arrived early which was super helpful. I have a uncommon dog breed and she asked plenty of questions about them to better understand their mannerisms. Would absolutely book again. Thank you!”

“Eleni was wonderful! She truly bonded with our dog, and it felt so nice to go on vacation knowing that he was being well cared for. We would absolutely work with her again!”

“Taylor was absolutely wonderful with our 3 month old puppy! We didn’t worry for one second knowing she was in such great hands. We appreciated Taylors check ins and photo updates :) I would recommend/we would love to have Taylor back in a heartbeat! Our pup misses her already!”

“I had a great experience with Carol. She took care of my four dogs while house sitting and did an excellent job managing everything. Even with multiple dogs and a few rainy days, she stayed on top of their care and made sure they were comfortable and well loved. She sent multiple updates and photos throughout the stay, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. It was also clear from her messages and photos that she showed genuine affection toward my dogs, which meant a lot to me. It was clear she treated my home with respect and took her responsibilities seriously. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring sitter.”

About: Hi I am Nora- a reliable student who loves spending time with animals of all sizes and personalities! I grew up in town with a Golden Retriever and a Bengal cat, but since their passings I have been occasionally watching other’s dogs! Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to take care of their furry loved ones (mostly large dogs) while going away for a weekend or a longer vacation. I am young, ambitious, and thoughtful, but new to this platform! I am currently working part time as a cashier while also studying. My flexible summer schedule M-F can accommodate your needs, while also making time for myself and my education. I am available for drop ins, walks, or house sitting and can accept last minute bookings if convenient. Only available until September! I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I always prioritize safety and communication with each client and I expect the same from you. I will be sure to keep you updated and send pics/vids to let you know your pet is being taken care of! Looking forward to establishing a connection with you and your pet, while also making them feel comfortable. Open to short or weekly commitments during the summer based off your needs.
“Katrin in awesome! Our shy/nervous dog always has a great time when she watches him. She is also super flexible and has helped watch Max on multiple holidays and last minute for us. We absolutely recommend her!!”

About: I have owned dogs and cats my whole life. At one point we had 4 dogs in the house! I am a dog-lover above all, but I also LOVE cats and understand them and their boundaries. I look forward to making new furry friends :) I currently work part-time on Saturdays and am a grad student during the Fall and Spring. Pet care is an AWESOME addition to my open schedule! I have overnight “cat-sat” on and off for the last two years. I do not leave any messes and am respectful of others’ spaces. I keep to myself and read books or do homework online when I stay the night somewhere—as well as hanging with critters!! I am professional and respectful about the work I do🩷
“Joanna and her daughter watched my dogs at my house for a few days while I was on vacation. They both took excellent care of my dogs. I received frequent pictures and updates from Joanna while I was away and my dogs were happy and healthy when I got home. My house was also well taken care of and spotless when I got home. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing her to watch their dogs.”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my entire life and currently help care for a high-energy Border Collie/Sheltie mix and three cats. I have experience caring for senior and special-needs pets, including administering transdermal and liquid medications and helping manage ongoing medical care for a cat with hyperthyroidism. I also helped care for a dog with hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, and liver disease, giving me experience following specialized care routines and monitoring pets with chronic health conditions. I’m comfortable reading cat and dog body language, handling multi-pet households, and caring for cats who are skilled escape artists. I understand that every pet has its own personality, routine, and needs, and I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. I work part-time Tuesday through Thursday from 3–6 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM–3 PM. Outside of those hours, I have flexible availability for drop-in visits and house sitting and can provide feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and medication administration as needed. When caring for pets in their home, I follow their routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to cat and dog body language, take extra care with pets who may try to escape, and make sure doors, gates, and other safety measures are always secure. I’m also comfortable caring for senior and special-needs pets and administering medications according to owner instructions.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glastonbury Center
We had to go out of town - leaving our 5 pets one of whom was a new adoptee with some trust issues and one of whom needed some medication and tlc. Sherri came over to meet us all and I was quickly assured that the pets would all be in great hands with her. I was able to enjoy my trip without worrying about our cats and dogs. The animals all warmed up to her quickly and she sent me lots of photos and reached out with any questions. We came home to happy pets and a well cared for house. I highly recommend her!
It was our first time having an inhouse pet sitter and Brien was wonderful. He was willing to meet with us a couple of weeks before hand which reassured us about having a stranger in our house. When a last minute health issue threw our plans up in the air, he was very empathetic and willing to work with us. We did get away as planned and Brien sent us a daily update and photos. Our dog is 15 years old, so a health issue can always develop unexpectedly, but Brien was confident he could hand anything that comes along. Highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Glastonbury Center on Rover is $32.1 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glastonbury Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glastonbury Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glastonbury Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glastonbury Center. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
