“We had Chris come do an in-home stay for the first time with our reactive pitbull and he crushed it! Reactive dogs are not the easiest to find sitters for and Chris was very accommodating with setting up a meet and great before hand and had even done his own research ahead of time to make sure he was knowledgeable before going through the introduction process. Our dog warmed up to him right away and she was able to immediately identify him as a safe person since he was so calm and easy going with her. When it came time for him to stay, all that was needed was a quick reminder and they were best buds for the rest of the weekend. He quickly learns her quirks. He sent daily pictures and updates. Then when we returned, our mail was stacked on the counter and the house was very neat, just as we left it, which is always appreciated when someone stays in your home. During the introduction stage he even requested to be shown where our cleaning supplies were and when our trash gets taken out. Chris was not only an excellent dog sitter, but a great house sitter as well! We are frequent travelers and will definitely be continuing to use Chris.”

“Heather and Greg were great with our two giant rescue pups. Heather stayed with them overnight for 10 days, and one of them was sad not to see her the first night we were back (looking for her in the guest room!). Hope to have them take care of pups again. Highly recommend this team to take care of your beloved family member pups.”

About: It's getting cold out. Your dog wants to go outside, but do you? Let me walk your dog for you. Cat sitting too. Jesey is open for business throughout the winter and spring! Proud roommate to the most perfect kitty ever created, friend of all things furry (or furless), and middle school music teacher. For over 10 years I have been taking care of delicate cats, big Australian shepherds, hyper Siberian husky puppies, grumpy felines, potbelly pigs, and everything in between. In the past I have slept over at a client's house to ensure that the little buddy gets let out, fed, etc. whenever they need to. I feel comfortable taking dogs out for evening/night walks, if your pet is a night owl. I love playing at the park or in the backyard, so let me hang out with your pet! I have worked with pets with allergies, dietary restrictions, and other various conditions. I have given cats and dogs their medicine in many different forms,(pills, oral liquid, injection, etc.) and am comfortable doing so. I'm working part time, so I will have plenty of time to take care of your beasts. Typically visit in the morning before 11am, and after 6pm for the evening. I care for everyone's pet like my own. Fresh water, food, litter, and lots of love every visit. skreet skreet pow skreet CRASH plop whoosh

“KiAnna was willing to arrive by 6:45 AM so we could depart by 7:15 AM. She took great care of Chester and we will be asking her to house sit and take care of Chester again!”

“Samantha did an great job watching Peaches!! Peaches enjoyed seeing Samantha and wagged her tail as soon as she saw her. Thank you Samantha for your care and attentiveness to Peaches.”

“Jess was very caring and enjoyed being with Lark. She did what was asked of her and that we were very appreciative of. Our pup can be a little stubborn, so we're always thankful for other people's patience with him. I can tell she really cares for animals in general.”

“Kindly took a very last minute request, was able to squeeze in a quick visit, and did a fabulous job. Pups were content and happy to have them as company. Easy communication and very nice person all around. I’ll definitely be requesting again!”

I always have a great time with very lovable, friendly, and energetic dogs and cats and enjoy spending time with them and making sure they are happy and having fun! I can always give them treats, play with them and encourage them to play with their toys, and stay with them for as long as needed! About: I have cared for animals for about 10 years and have mostly worked with dogs, cats, and rabbits. I always am the first person my neighbors as for pet sitting as I am reliable and love spending time with animals. I love to give pets lots of attention and play with them and give lots of petting to make them as happy as possible. I currently have no other job at the moment so I have plenty of time to look after your pets! I am available all day during the week and on weekends. I have a cat that has to take pills daily and I am used to giving animals medicine and flea medicine so I am very capable of doing that for your animal. I also give my cat nail clippings and fur brushing to keep them clean. I also clean the litter box weekly and always pick up dog poop.

“Annie was awesome!! She took great care of our golden, he had his own vacation while we were gone. Annie kept us up to date and sent some great pictures. She is a natural and our dog absolutely loves her!”

About: I’ve had my own dog, Lily, for 12 years—she’s been with me since she was just 2 months old. Caring for her throughout every stage of life has given me hands on experience with everything from puppy training to adult dog care. I genuinely love dogs and feel comfortable with their different needs and personalities. In addition to caring for my own dog, I’ve also dog sat for several families in my neighborhood. I’m now looking to continue dog sitting over the summer before starting my career as a Physician Assistant in the fall. I’m excited to provide reliable, attentive, and loving care for every dog I look after. This summer I am only working in the morning on Saturdays and afternoon on Sundays, making my schedule free and flexible for your pet’s needs! I am expected to start my full time job in September, but I am happy to continue dog sitting for you when time allows : ) I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walking routines, crate use, and any special needs or medications. I understand that every dog is different and has individualized needs, and I am happy to help them in whatever way I can. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and routines. I also provide regular updates and photos, so owners feel confident their pet is safe and happy while they’re away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windsor
We have used house and pet sitters for many years because we prefer our pets to stay in the comfort of their own home rather than in a kennel, and this was one of our best experiences. We were away for 10 days and received daily photos and updates, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our trip knowing Ali was in good hands. The updates showed a happy, content cat, and it was clear that she spent quality time with Ali and gave her plenty of attention and affection. When we returned home, the house was clean and well cared for, and Ali was relaxed, healthy, and clearly comfortable. In fact, it looked like Ali had become quite fond of her sitter! We are very grateful for the excellent care she provided, both for Ali and for our home. We would not hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windsor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windsor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windsor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windsor. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
