“Our pup got cuddles and attention that she would never had the opportunity to enjoy with typical boarding. Thank you, Kayla and family, for treating our baby as part of your family. 💜💜”

“Louise was quick to respond to my request, and when I spoke to her on the phone she had many questions about Wicked. She wanted to make sure it was a good fit and that I would feel comfortable as I'm very protective over my fur-baby. During the stay, Louise sent me many pictures, and so I felt relieved that Wicked was having a great stay. Louise's dogs are very calm too, so I was happy Wicked had some friends to play with. I would definitely recommend Louise as she's a caring host.”

“Nancy was absolutely amazing! This was our first time leaving our girl with anyone so we were very nervous on how it would go! Nancy was so reassuring that Paisley would do well. She sent us pictures to keep us updated on how she was doing. Paisley came home one happy girl! We are so thankful to have found Nancy and highly recommend her!! We will definitely use her in the future!”

“Michelle is so awesome! She’s turned her property into a canine Adventureland. Kinda like summer camp for pups. The best! We left our dog with her for a week while we traveled and she sent a boatload of photos and updates every day. In those photos my dog was having so much fun with the pack, it seemed like she maybe didn’t even miss me 😜 We were very happy with the excellent communication and would definitely recommend Michelle to anyone.”

“Emily was amazing. I could tell Luna had such a fun and comfortable time. I loved all the picture and video updates. It makes me feel so much better going out of town knowing that Luna is safe, happy, and well cared for. I would definitely book with Emily again.”

“Allison loved on Presley like she was hers and sent me updates and pictures throughout the weekend. She took her on little walks/hikes/adventures and was great with her!”

About: I am a dog groomer and sitter of 3 years, I have a standard poodle and a Mexican hairless dog. I also show my Mexican hairless dog in akc dog shows. I have experience with reactive dogs, intact dogs, and primitive dogs. My specialty is aloof breeds as I love the connection and bond, it makes it even more special when they trust you. I work full time as a dog groomer and admin at barkzone, but your pup would be able to come with me and hang out in the office safely away from the other pups with fresh water and access to a backyard for supervised potty time I have a separate dog room for feeding time and kennels for unsupervised time away from them. If they need to sleep in a kennel I have extras or they can sleep with me. I do not have a fenced yard but I can offer structured walks around the block or to the parks! And lots of play time
“10/10! Amanda was very kind and caring towards our dog and communicative with us. She sent photos regularly and took good care of her. She listened to our instructions well and was very generous with boarding her over a long holiday week. Our pup came home happy and with new friends :)”

“Carrie was such a great sitter for our shy, older dog. Easy to communicate with and sent us lots of photos throughout the stay. It was very clear that our dog had a great time!! Would definitely recommend and hope we can book again for any future trips!”

“Angie did a wonderful job with our playful pup, Tillie. We received great updates daily and Tillie seemed right at home while we were away. Angie took her for some adventures and hikes and she also got lots of snuggles too. Angie provided a great vacation for Tillie while we were away, and we love that. Thanks, Angie!”

“So happy I had Cassie watch my pup while I was away for 11 days. Leaving your ‘child’ is no easy task and Cassie made me feel so much more comfortable with being separated. She sent me several photos and videos a day (upon my request) and did amazing with taking care of a wound he had prior to my trip. My pup loved playing with her dogs and other guests and was happy as ever when picked up. Highly recommend her and will definitely be back in the future!! Thanks Cassie ?”

“We were concerned about leaving our little girl with a sitter for a long trip; however, Peggie was fantastic. She took great care of our girl exceeded all of our expectations. We had a lot of peace of mind during our trip. Highly recommended.”

“Marybeth and family took good care of our dog Toby for a week. I believe Toby had as good a vacation as we did! He got to play with Zoey and keep an eye on the cats. He spent time relaxing on the back deck watching the chickens. Working out the details with Marybeth was easy and she's quick to respond. She's obviously good with animals.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
