“Becky is absolutely wonderful! She went above and beyond by not only watching my two dogs (a Swiss Mountain Dog and a Labrador Retriever) but also picking them up for me. They came back home super tired and very happy — which says it all! It’s such a relief knowing they were so well cared for. I would highly recommend Becky to anyone looking for a trustworthy, thoughtful, and loving dog watcher.”

“Our two old dogs came home happy and healthy. They required a lot of extra care including medications and Jessica was so sweet and accommodating about it. Would definitely trust her again.”

“Kristen and her partner are the best! We had our pup stay at their house while we traveled for the week. Her communication was excellent- providing updates with photos every day, it was something our family always looked forward to. It was clear that our pup was happy at their home - large backyard to play in, lovely walks in the neighborhood, a space to hide upon hearing fireworks, lovely humans to keep him company. Highly recommend!!”

“Our girl Tillie Bean loves to stay with Angie and has done well with her while we are away. It is such a relief knowing she is good hands and that she is having her own special getaway with Angie. Thanks for loving our special little lady🐾”

“This is our 2nd time that Ringo has stayed with Ringo and again we feel grateful that she was available to take care of him again. Ringo gets anxious in new situations but Allison was able to calm him down have him get comfortable at her house. Allison is extremely kind and communicated well with us while we were away. Once again, we can’t recommend Allison highly enough…she’s wonderful!”

“Boarding our dog with Sarah was the best boarding experience we’ve ever had, hands down. I loved the daily updates and photos, and I can tell it’s important to Sarah that all of the dogs in her care are well taken care of - loved on, played with, exercised. Dogs definitely don't get the bare minimum here; in fact, I think Ashti came home with higher expectations of me, lol. I would book with her again in a heartbeat!”

“Yuting was great. She communicated daily and sent video and pics throughout our time away. Dave was exercised daily and had plenty of play time with her pups as well! Thanks, Yuting!”

“Veronica was great! Our dog Perla is 1 year old and very active and playful. She was kept busy with Veronicas two dogs for 12 days, which Perla seem to enjoy very much. Veronica is very knowledgeable about dogs and very patient. She kept us informed with pictures and videos. We will definitely use Veronica again.”

“We left our sweet Cora with Pam for five days over Memorial Day, and she had a great time! I'm sure she enjoyed Pam's lovely fenced yard. I really appreciated that Pam adhered to Cora's strict prescription diet and meds, she's a little high maintenance at the moment. Cora seemed relaxed and happy when we picked her up. I recommend Pam for your pet-sitting needs!”

“What an amazing individual and her little doggie, Zoe. Marybeth is super casual, interested, caring, and flexible. She understands pets and their importance. I loved her tree-lined neighborhood and the HUGE fenced backyard available for my little pupper to play. I've decided Marybeth's the one to trust with my little pup, Mia.”

“Linda is the best with our funny and sensitive little dog! She sends us photos and updates daily, and seems to spoil her. We feel lucky and grateful for Linda!”

“Nancy is so wonderful - a safe and loving temporary home for our very special little guy. We not only felt comfortable knowing Nancy was giving Teddy the best care, but also that they were probably both enjoying each others company while we were away. Teddy came home in one piece and was his same normal, happy self. Thank you so much for opening your home to Teddy, Nancy - we hope for more visits soon!”

“Thank you Melodie. Bentley came home happy after playing with your 3 sweet puppies. As Bentley has run off given a chance I appreciated how secure your areas for the dogs are. Thanks again.”

“Michelle did an absolutely wonderful job with our dog. Our dog is not socialized and was had very strong separation anxiety, but Michelle was well aware of how to make it work and by the end of the stay there, Hannah was totally thrilled and happy to be with the other dogs and, get along with everybody and all the pictures that were sent to me were great and I got a report every day about how Hannah was doing and I am just thrilled. We will be using her again for sure . really put my mind at ease with how loving and caring Michelle was. she reported back every day with pictures she figured out what was the best way to treat Hannah with her anxiety and got her to become friendly with other dogs. She got a lot. It was really a great experience for her and a great experience for us because we were so worried about her getting along.”

“The people in this home made Mabel feel welcomed and loved. How do I know? All of the pictures and updates Christine sent me! I was able to work out of town without worrying about my girl, Mabes. My work can be stressful, and not having to worry about Mabel means so much to me. I will definitely want Mabel to go back to Christine's home!”

“Louise was quick to respond to my request, and when I spoke to her on the phone she had many questions about Wicked. She wanted to make sure it was a good fit and that I would feel comfortable as I'm very protective over my fur-baby. During the stay, Louise sent me many pictures, and so I felt relieved that Wicked was having a great stay. Louise's dogs are very calm too, so I was happy Wicked had some friends to play with. I would definitely recommend Louise as she's a caring host.”

“Shasta treated our kitty like one of her own! He was very shy with them because it was his first time away from home, but they made sure to give him love and attention even while he was hiding in his bed. I definitely recommend her and will contact her again if we need somewhere for him to stay!”

“Sue was amazing. I have a very spoiled, high energy pup that never slows down. She's always up to something. Sue sent updates and pictures several times a day. Cocoa was very happy when we got home.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
