“Wendy was phenomenal! We really appreciated that she reached out to ask questions & made sure she was doing everything she could for our cat, Macy. Our girl is in her golden years and finding someone who works in the vet industry provided us a lot of reassurance! 10/10 would recommend”
“Frank has been great. Even after our dig gave them an enthusiastic love bump in the nose! Mojie was safe and sound and extremely well cared for. House was also in excellent shape after our weekend away. Thank you!”

“This is the first time Evelyn has done a sit for me, and I couldn't be more pleased. For 8 days she lived in my home and took care of my rambunctious Doberman. She texted me daily with information about how he was doing, notified me when she had questions or concerns, responded promptly to my texts/calls, provided Maestro with the agreed-upon food and medications, and took good care of my home as well. I will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Aislynn was so wonderful. This is our second setter through Rover and have had nothing but great experiences. It was great knowing Millie and Oliver was in safe hands during our day. I would for sure rebook with her again.”

“I was so glad to have connected with Hannah to take care of our dog, Ruby while we were on vacation. She took such great care of her and our home. We appreciated that she stayed in touch, sharing photos of their hikes and walks. I would highly recommend Hannah for pet/house sitting.”

“Emma was a good communicator and flexible with our travel plans. She took great care of our home and our precious kitty. I could tell on our return that Villa was happy and comfortable while Emma was with her. Will definitely book with Emma again!”
“Malissa was great at house sitting for our 3 dogs. She was very active with the dogs in the yard. We were out of service range for much of our trip but when we could get updates there were always pictures of the dogs and the cat looking very content. She took care of my indoor and outdoor plants in the scorching July heat. The house was tidy and a pleasure to return home. I would absolutely recommend her to family and friends.”

“Érica just spent a week at our house with our cats and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Our girls are in good spirits and the house is in great shape. Excellent communication while we were away. Worth every dollar - highly recommend!”

“Chariti was amazing. She gave us such peace of mind while on a day trip where we couldn’t bring our dog. She communicated clearly, provided plenty of pictures to show us how much fun they were having and left things just even cleaner than when we left. We will definitely try to book with Chariti again for our future needs with dog sitting/care!”

“Jamie did a wonderful job taking care of our senior dog Hank! She paid a lot of attention to detail for care, checked in daily, and sent us lots of photos of him enjoying walks and cuddle time. She also left the house spotless! We would be happy to have her again!”

“If we could give ten stars it wouldn’t be enough to express how amazing Aimee is. She listens and cares so much about ensuring your pets are treated not only the same as we would but maybe even like royalty while we were gone. Our dog was clearly happy and relaxed with her and not depressed we were gone at all. She delivered on all promises and far exceeded our expectations in every way. She takes the responsibility very seriously and clearly loves animals. We highly recommend her for any of your pet needs as well as house sitter. She stayed in our home for five nights and her level of service to our family was extraordinary. So grateful for the ability to go away without any concerns back home and daily updates and photos. My husband was honestly ready to cancel our trip rather than leave our dog and home in the care of a stranger and Aimee’s amazing care and attention to detail for pets and humans has made him a full convert ready to already book with her again instantly. Truly look no further it doesn’t get better than Aimee!”

“Lena did a fantastic job watching our Shepherd, Frenchie, and cat. From the moment we left, her communication was outstanding. She sent wonderful photos and videos throughout our trip, which always made us smile and gave us peace of mind knowing our pets were happy and well cared for. She also took excellent care of our home, including bringing in packages and keeping an eye on everything while we were away. Most importantly, our animals absolutely adored her. They were happy, relaxed, and clearly received lots of love and attention during her stay. We would not hesitate to book Lena again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter.”

“Karen is everything you want when leaving an anxious weimaraner alone with a pet sitter for the first time. She’s communicative, sending updates by text and video to keep the anxious pet parents at ease. She’s compassionate, understanding Poppy’s need to speak out loud and sleep really close. She’s calming for all of us. We are confident we have found the perfect dog sitter.”

“Brooklyn did a fantastic job watching our two morkies over a weekend period. We especially appreciated her proactive style of communication, her calm when dealing with any issues, and of course all the pictures of our pups throughout the day while we were away. Would definitely recommend her services and book with her again. Thanks Brooklyn!”

About: Throughout my life I’ve had 2 dogs, 7 cats, and I currently live with 3 cats. I don’t have a preference between cats and dogs, I love them equally! I don’t work a regular job so my schedule is almost always open for pet sitting. I’m free to house sit, dog walk, whenever you need me. I keep my cats indoors, give fresh water every day in their cat fountain. I feed every morning and every night on a consistent schedule, a mix of kibble and wet food.
“Sierra was perfect for my high-energy puppy. She completely understood how demanding a young dog can be, making sure he got plenty of exercise and playtime. The photo updates she sent were fantastic and so fun to receive. I came home to a spotless house and a very tired, happy dog. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone!”
“Did an amazing job of taking care of my two pups. Especially with one being dog aggressive she took extra precautions and did everything I asked. She sent me tons of pictures which I loved and was a very good at communicating. She stayed the night and had the house as I left it and even washed my sheets and made my bed after! All in all I’d recommend macynn for all your dogs needs will be going back for sure!”

“We are so happy to have found Theo! Our home is always well taken care of and Xxena is well loved. We receive daily photos and check-ins and it's really nice to know that she's in good hands while we're away!”

“Stix did amazing with our crew! She provided many pictures and daily updates. Everything was perfect when we got back and she went above and beyond expectations. I'll definitely be booking her for future vacations!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brightwood
Meghan was superb, from the beginning when she waked in the door of my house to meet Odie(90lb lab mix) to the time she departed making shire he was adequately fed and watered are the basics of course but she played, stayed and went above and beyond when any instruction I left. She took him on long walks multiple times during days and evenings, embraced him as her own and sent pictures and messages depicting all the great times they had together in my absence she will. E asked back without a doubt and I highly recommend Meghan to watch, walk, sit and entertain any pet that might be in need of those services she takes so seriously, her heart is clearly in it all the way! Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 2,512 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brightwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brightwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brightwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brightwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brightwood. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
