“Our boys had the best care ever! I loved all the pictures and updates when Kristina was out visiting Monti and Mikey! Definitely keep you at the top of the list for our future needs?”

About: I have two doggies of my own. Both of them are senior dogs with young hearts, and they are still very active. My experience comes from being a dog owner. Pet care fits well into my daily and weekly routine. During the week, I work from home, which makes caring for my dogs easier. I’m able to walk them, feed them, and play with them during my breaks. My weekends are free, which gives me extra flexibility for longer walks, additional playtime, grooming, and any extra care they may need. It also allows me to spend more quality time with them and make sure they stay active, happy, and comfortable. I have two senior dogs who love going for walks and visiting the dog park. Both of them also enjoy going on car rides. They are definitely very spoiled.
About: I’m able to provide constant care. Sometimes I like to take a gym break for 1-2 hrs. I’ve cared for dogs & cats my entire life & am confident managing daily walks, feeding schedules, & medication where needed. I’m particularly comfortable maintaining established routines & providing a calm, steady presence for pets who may feel unsettled while their owners are away. I’m also organised, always respectful when it comes to home care & I’m mindful of neighbours & building environments. Above all, I’m dependable & take seriously the trust involved in caring for both a home & beloved pets. I work remotely in sport psychology & am currently writing a book, which means I’m home most of the day & able to offer steady companionship & consistency. I live a quiet, healthy lifestyle & enjoy calm, cosy days at home — long walks & peaceful evenings. I grew up with dogs and cats my entire life, & sadly our last family dog passed away a few years ago. Since I was in the middle of moving at the time, I haven’t welcomed another dog of my own yet. That experience deepened my understanding of just how much our pets mean to us. They’re part of our comfort, and our family. Because of that, I deeply respect the trust involved in leaving them in someone else’s care. Looking after other people’s pets has genuinely brought me a lot of fulfilment. I’m very comfortable following established routines, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medication, or simply recognising when a pet needs play, reassurance, or space. I understand how important stability is when their parents (you) are away. I know how important peace of mind is when you travel. I’ll treat your home & your fur family with the same care, respect, & attentiveness I would my own. :)
About: I have always loved taking care of pets for as long as I can remember. I have worked as a kennel technician at The Biscuit Garden for about 2 years, and have fallen in love with providing special care towards furry friends. There, I create safe play groups, feed, walk, play, and of course, clean! I will make sure to pay close attention to any special needs your pet may have. Accommodating to your dogs energy level, temperament, age, and health is very important to me. I will ensure to pay very close attention to any issues or concerns I may see while spending time with your pup. I believe maintaining a clean and tidy environment is important to an animals health. I will provide updates with messages and pictures about our time together. I look forward to hanging out and connecting with you and your pet! Now that it is summer, I have a ton more availability when I am not working. I work about 20 hours a week, mostly in the afternoons, so my mornings are typically more free. I have 2 dogs of my own, Luna (labradoodle), who I have trained since she was a puppy, and Lacy (French Bulldog), who I am currently training (she is 5 months old). Although I do not have professional training experience, I will say I put all my patience into providing simple tasks that can better your dogs skills. Whether if it’s during walks, crate time, or a simple sit and stay, I will provide my best efforts for your pup to succeed in these things. Along with training, I always make sure to spend quality time with my puppies because we are what’s most important to them. I believe playtime is very important to keeping a dog young and healthy! In any clients home, I make sure to spend as much quality time with the clients dog to build a strong connection.
About: I’ve been a dog owner for over 10 years, and caring for my own senior pup has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand a dog’s needs at every stage of life. Because of this, I’m very comfortable with routines, gentle handling, medication reminders, and giving pets the extra attention they may need to feel safe and comfortable. I am also continuously improving my skills as a sitter—I take my dog to training classes and apply those lessons to the pets I care for. This has helped me learn about positive reinforcement, building trust, and managing different personalities and energy levels. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, I provide calm, reliable, and loving care. My goal is to make every pet feel at home and every owner feel confident while they’re away. I am currently a full-time housewife, and after my child goes to school each day, I have plenty of free time to focus on caring for your dog. My schedule is very flexible on weekdays, which allows me to provide consistent attention, regular walks, and prompt communication. I’m also available for last-minute bookings and can adjust my day around your dog’s routine. Your pup will never feel rushed—I have the time and patience to give them the care, playtime, and comfort they need. I have a While I don’t have a fenced backyard, I make sure every dog stays safe and well supervised at all times. I take dogs out for regular leashed walks in my quiet, pet-friendly neighborhood, and my neighbors are very nice, making it a comfortable and safe area for daily walks. Indoors, your dog will always be kept in a secure, calm environment. I never leave pets unattended, and I follow your preferred routines for feeding, bathroom breaks, and leash handling. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have experience with dogs, cats, and small animals, and spent four years working as a Veterinary Assistant in Wilmington and Chapel Hill. I treat every pet as if they were my own, offering patience, safety, and lots of love. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and deeply loved while you’re away. I currently work from home running a small business. I do not work every day. I am flexible and available to help you out when needed. I have a Labrador Retriever and two senior, friendly domestic shorthair cats of my own. While you’re away, I care for your pets as if they were my own. I follow your instructions closely, keep routines consistent, and take time to understand each animal’s personality and needs. I like to keep a log for you on how they did and how things went for our time together. We have a nice sized home to accommodate your furry friend. Pets are allowed upstairs. We are happy to have your baby sleep on his or her bed in our room at night, or a crate if that’s what they are used to. Please supply your pet’s favorite bed or crate. Pets are allowed on the couch. We have a large, fenced back yard for those pups that like to sunbathe or sniff around during the day! I focus on calm, gentle care, plenty of affection (when welcomed), and making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m attentive to behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, and I communicate regularly so you have peace of mind. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, puppies and kittens and special needs pets through vet time experience and personal experience.

About: Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to care for their pets for years, and I genuinely treat every animal like they’re part of my own family. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone who is dependable, patient, and attentive, and that’s exactly the kind of care I strive to provide. As a nurse, I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions, giving medications when needed, recognizing changes in behavior, and staying calm. I pay close attention to the little things because I know every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, snuggling on the couch, or simply having someone keep them company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll also send plenty of updates, photos, and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in great hands. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! Schedule & Availability I’m currently available throughout the day on weekdays, making me a great option for morning, afternoon, or evening visits. Whether your cat needs a quick drop-in, feeding, playtime, medication, or extra companionship while you’re at work or traveling, I’m happy to accommodate your schedule whenever possible. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, medications, litter box care, playtime, and any other preferences you have. I understand that every cat is different, and I’ll respect their personality…whether they enjoy lots of attention or prefer their own space.
About: I’m reliable, communicative, and always keep pet parents updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can relax knowing your dog is in good hands. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I enjoy starting my mornings with walks, playtime, and feeding routines—it keeps me active and gives the pets a positive, structured start to their day. Throughout the week, I make time for check-ins, walks, or overnight stays based on what each pet needs. I am currently a year round teacher with 3 week track outs every 9 weeks. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I stick closely to each pet’s normal routine—feeding times, walk schedules, playtime, and any special instructions—so they feel secure and at ease.

About: I have grown up around animals and throughout that time have gained skills that help with sitting and with that it allows me to be a better sitter. I have been around all ages of cats and dogs my whole life and have been sitting regularly since I was thirteen. I’m currently in school and not very busy with classes, so I’ll be readily available to fulfill any petting sitting needs that are needed. I will usually check in and/or walk in the morning or in the evening. My dog gets walked twice a day at minimum because he tends to want to get that much energy out. This usually happens at night and I would be able to walk any dogs at the same level which I do mine.
“What a great experience! This was our first time using Rover and I landed on Melissa based on her having a fellow basset hound and professional experience dealing with animals. We have two bassets, both female, and one of those we just rescued. Needless to say they are a handful. Melissa came over the night before to meet them and check out their dynamic. She didn’t have to do this at all and it was so appreciated. She walked them he next day, kept us updated and responded fast with ANY questions. Bottom line is Melissa is a pro and will be using her for all future basset stop and smells/walks.”
About: I have had dogs all of my life. I currently have 2 dogs of my own. I understand the importance of having a safe and loving place to leave my babies when I am away. I will make sure to take great care of your friend while also making sure you are kept up to date on their wellbeing! Daily walks, lots of snuggles, and friends to play with will make our house the best option! If you have any questions or special requests I am more than willing to entertain them! I work full time but I am home during the day for two full weeks a month and will be spending that time to watch your pups! We look forward to meeting y'all! We are open to weekend stays. We both work fulltime but the weekends are dedicated to our pups and they always love to have an extra friend! We recently fenced in an acre of our property for our fur babies! They will be treated just like our dogs with the same love and care.
About: I’ve had dogs since I could open my eyes, and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I currently share my home with two amazing pups — Luna, my affectionate American Bully, and Apollo, my playful French Bulldog. I also spent a year working at Suite Paws, a boarding and spa facility, where I gained hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. In addition, I have a soft spot for senior dogs and plenty of experience providing them with the extra love and patience they deserve. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or cozy cuddles, I’ll make sure your furry friend feels safe, happy, and cared for — just like family! I am currently a college student so I am not spending as much time with animals as I would like. We do have some neighborhood cats around that I love to feed and hang out with When I’m caring for pets in their own home, I respect both the pet’s routine and the owner’s space. I follow all instructions carefully — from feeding schedules to medication, walks, and bedtime routines. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pets are happy and well cared for. With experience from working at Suite Paws and caring for my own two dogs, Luna and Apollo, I understand how important it is to create a calm, loving environment for every pet I look after.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
