“David came the day before his first visit with kiwi for a M&G and she loved him immediately! I’m sure she was very happy to have him spend 30 mins spoiling her while I was at work. Thanks, David!”

“Audrey is very reliable and was able to help me at the last minute. She does very well with my puppy who can be stubborn at times She keeps me up to date and sends pictures after every visit.”

“Maria saved the day! Our cats needed caring for on a very short notice, and luckily she was available and super accommodating! She goes above and beyond and the cats love her <3”

About: I have grown up around animals and throughout that time have gained skills that help with sitting and with that it allows me to be a better sitter. I have been around all ages of cats and dogs my whole life and have been sitting regularly since I was thirteen. I’m currently in school and not very busy with classes, so I’ll be readily available to fulfill any petting sitting needs that are needed. I will usually check in and/or walk in the morning or in the evening. My dog gets walked twice a day at minimum because he tends to want to get that much energy out. This usually happens at night and I would be able to walk any dogs at the same level which I do mine.
“Bailey was fantastic! 🐾 We booked her to stop by twice to check on our pups, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, dependable, and made us feel completely comfortable knowing our little hooligans were in good hands. Our dogs gave her two paws up… and since they don’t have thumbs, that’s basically a standing ovation. 😂 Thank you, Bailey, for taking such great care of our crew! We’d happily book with you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pets like family. 🐾🩵🐾🩷”

“Sydney was wonderful. We were able to get her last minute before our trip and she went above and beyond for our lab while we were gone. I knew he was in great hands from our first meeting!”

“Hillary did an amazing job watching our two dogs. We booked only a couple of days in advance, but Hillary still made time to come to meet us and the dogs before our trip. Our shy dogs liked her immediately and she didn’t mind our extra details. She checked in with an update each visit and even sent photos. It was great to travel knowing that the pups were so well cared for. We will definitely be booking with Hillary again.”

“Kimberley did fantastic job taking care of my cat! She provided updates and pictures from every visit, was very attentive and engaging. We for sure will be glad to have her drop in again next time we need to use Rover!”

About: I have cared for pets my entire life, as I have grown up surrounded by them. I have extensive knowledge about their care and also possess basic veterinary knowledge. In addition to giving them baths, I know how to trim their nails and, on some occasions, I can also groom their hair. I can adjust to the care schedule that best fits your needs. I believe it’s especially beneficial for your pet to go for a walk in the morning and in the evening, since those are times when they often have the most energy. I also find it very important to dedicate around 30 minutes exclusively to training, to help develop their learning skills and overall growth. Depending on the owner’s preferences, different activities and moments with the pet can be planned. For example, if it’s a pet that can only stay indoors, I would likely focus on indoor activities and spend plenty of quality time with them. On the other hand, if outdoor activities like walks or trips to the park are possible, I can easily adapt, as I love walking and believe it’s important to let pets safely explore their surroundings. That’s why I consider it very valuable to give pets the opportunity to go outside and enjoy the world.

About: I have two doggies of my own. Both of them are senior dogs with young hearts, and they are still very active. My experience comes from being a dog owner. Pet care fits well into my daily and weekly routine. During the week, I work from home, which makes caring for my dogs easier. I’m able to walk them, feed them, and play with them during my breaks. My weekends are free, which gives me extra flexibility for longer walks, additional playtime, grooming, and any extra care they may need. It also allows me to spend more quality time with them and make sure they stay active, happy, and comfortable. I have two senior dogs who love going for walks and visiting the dog park. Both of them also enjoy going on car rides. They are definitely very spoiled.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have experience with dogs, cats, and small animals, and spent four years working as a Veterinary Assistant in Wilmington and Chapel Hill. I treat every pet as if they were my own, offering patience, safety, and lots of love. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and deeply loved while you’re away. I currently work from home running a small business. I do not work every day. I am flexible and available to help you out when needed. I have a Labrador Retriever and two senior, friendly domestic shorthair cats of my own. While you’re away, I care for your pets as if they were my own. I follow your instructions closely, keep routines consistent, and take time to understand each animal’s personality and needs. I like to keep a log for you on how they did and how things went for our time together. We have a nice sized home to accommodate your furry friend. Pets are allowed upstairs. We are happy to have your baby sleep on his or her bed in our room at night, or a crate if that’s what they are used to. Please supply your pet’s favorite bed or crate. Pets are allowed on the couch. We have a large, fenced back yard for those pups that like to sunbathe or sniff around during the day! I focus on calm, gentle care, plenty of affection (when welcomed), and making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m attentive to behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, and I communicate regularly so you have peace of mind. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, puppies and kittens and special needs pets through vet time experience and personal experience.
About: I have been caring for pets my entire life and started providing professional pet care about seven years ago. I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including energetic puppies and kittens, senior pets, and animals that need extra patience, attention, and compassionate care. I am currently in school Monday through Thursday. During those days, I am available for morning visits around 8:00 a.m. and evening visits after 5:00 p.m. I have open availability Friday through Sunday, allowing me to spend plenty of quality time with your furry friends and provide them with the care, attention, and exercise they deserve. I will come to your home to walk, feed, and play with your dog or cat while providing plenty of love and attention. I will serve the food and treats you provide, refill fresh water, and clean food and water bowls after each feeding. If your pet requires medication, I can administer it according to your instructions. I will also clean litter boxes for cats and dispose of pet waste during every visit to keep your home clean and your pets comfortable.
About: I've had furry friends in my life since I was a child, and as an adult I've always shared my home with dogs—usually at least two at a time. Their personalities have run the full spectrum, from my goofy, lovable boxer to our loyal German Shepherd who took her protector role very seriously. No matter their size or temperament, every one of them has been family to me—and I'll care for your dog the same way. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which means your pet won't be left waiting—they'll have company, attention, and someone keeping an eye on them throughout the day. I know how hard it is to be away from your furry family member, whether it's for work, travel, or a long day out. Let me help make it easier for you. I'm available for drop-in visits, walks, and house sitting, so whether your pup needs a midday potty break, a good long walk, or someone to keep their normal routine running in the comfort of their own home, I've got it covered. Your pet will be in caring, attentive hands and treated with all the love and patience I give my own.
“Melissa was so great with our dog Ellie! Definitely was the best choice for our anxious and shy little fur baby! She sent us pictures every visit and was extremely gentle and caring with our girl as well as very detailed with the how the visits went, which made it easier to deal with the separation! Very awesome experience.”

“We loved have Kaitlyn check in on our cat while we were away. Always made sure to give him love with pats or treats depending on if he wanted to come out from hiding when she stopped by. We’ll definitely use her again in the future!”

“Tim was great with all of our dogs! Very responsive and commutative when it comes to setting up arrangements. I used Tim previously to watch my dog and would recommend him to anyone.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
