About: I’ve never been without pets from the time I was born, grew up with German Shepherds and Saint Bernard’s and was in my twenties before realizing not everyone related or loved dogs the way I do. I’ve owned and loved cats that lived to eighteen. I live with two lovely teen kids, husband and rescue dog, Lulu. She’s almost eight! She arrived when she was two, unruly, unwalkable and barking non stop at us at the dinner table while we attempted to eat. Most people would have given that girl back, but not us! I trained her at home, had the entire family participate, and worked with two separate pros to ensure she grew into our special family dog. Lulu is now eight, and our little mama dog, she loves the kids so much! Daily exercise keeps her fit and her brain happy. I would love to help you with your dogs, cats or other pets for walks, cuddles or play time- they’re all right up my alley! My schedule is very open at this time. I’m a Mom of two teens but am able to maintain a flexible schedule. I value a high level of communication. I am very mindful and respectful of people’s property. I own an airbnb and understand the respect to show others. I am able to come at your designated time and am happy to follow house rules.

About: I am an animal lover at heart! I grew up with dogs & cats although I don't currently have any, I will care for yours just like my own. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, nurtured, and happy as possible. I work hyrbid during the week & can walk your pet or stop by for some play. I am available to housesit during the week & weekends I will always ask about your pet's typical day & routine to try to create a similar environment. I will respect your home, keep it clean, & provide regular updates so you feel at ease.

About: I’ve lived with and taken care of dogs since I was 7. I’m comfortable with all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I have experience with nervous dogs from working at the Humane Society. I work full time Thursday-Monday. I am able to provide dog walking in the mornings (before 10am) and evenings (after 7pm) on those days. I am able to provide 24 hour in home pet sitting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as well as dog walking and other services. I can come to the client’s home, or do walks in their neighborhood. I am not able to provide care in my own home currently.

About: Are the dogs wild? Or am I wild? It has never really been clear. I have two dogs that are different in almost every way possible, from size to behavior. One an 80 lbs husky mix ready for playful rabble rousing and general chaos creator (as huskies are born to do), and the other a 14 lbs chihuahua ready to play referee if he thinks things are looking like they might get chaotic. I have read lots of different dog training books, but I am not a dog trainer. Just a normal human looking to improve my relationship with my dogs. Maybe your dogs too? I work from home and can hang out with your pet for most of the day as long as there is a place for me to work comfortably. Depending on their needs I can take them out. Tuesdays are heavy meeting days for me and I would be unlikely to take them out between 8-12pm if I am house sitting. I am still around for general pets and chit chat, but unable to leave during that time on Tuesdays. My overall philosophy is that I am a human treat dispenser, here for distractions and love. Pets, toys, words of affection, or food… I will use your dogs love language to distract them from the wild world around us, all while they distract me from the wild world. If you want me to watch your dog at my house, I already have two living here so they would need to be okay with the current residents.

About: I have two corgis who I am obsessed with. Both are from rehoming situations with one being a senior dog who has been left alone most of his life. I have grown up with dogs my whole life from little tiny ones to larger ones. I love all kinds of dogs and have experience house sitting for friends and family. I have experience with different temperaments in dogs from really shy and nervous dogs to agressive dogs. Our corgis are very sweet and very smart dogs. They both have their own personality and once you get to know them, you will love them! They are clumsy little baby potatoes who will do anything for your attention or treats. We are looking forward to meeting you! I work remotely full time and have the flexibility to drop in for check ins, feed, let out, short walks, play and even house sitting. I am looking to care for pets in the client’s home and can provide care however they are comfortable with. I can provide leashes for walks.

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats as a Vet Tech in Guam for about three years. I can pet sit cats and dogs only for I have a lot of experience with them. I am very comfortable in administering medications, as well as standard grooming. I am also very knowledgeable about body language and identifying your pets needs. I am currently working part time so I am flexible through out the week with advance notice! I can work around your schedule if needed! I have 3 cats at home that are all super friendly. I do highly recommend to do sitting in your home to lessen the stress on your pet as they can sometimes have a hard time adjusting to new environments.

About: I have experience taking care of dogs of various temperments, sizes and ages. From my own dogs, I have experience with scent work, agility and reactive dog training. Your dogs safety, comfort and happiness are my top priority and I'm able to provide the mental and physical stimulation that's right for your pup- from nose work, to agility drills, sniff walks or even just a snuggle. I'm also an amateur photographer and would love to photograph and send you photos of your dog (with your permission of course!) I am a remote graduate student with flexible hours. I can make myself very available for your pet at almost any hour during the day. I will follow whatever wishes you have for the care of your dogs! Depending on services booked, I will stay over night, drop in and play/walk.

About: I'm a slow walker, I don't mind strolling with old sniffers. I'm also mellow and love to hand out with a good dog while I read or write. I teach yoga among other jobs, so my schedule is sporadic and different day to day. We would need to talk about schedules to define what times work in between my classes and appointments. I lost my soul dog in January, there was nothing I wouldn't do for her. I'm protective when it comes to animals. Cautious and aware of surroundings. I live in an apartment, so only small dogs invited to my place but happy to visit at yours.

“Elise took pretty good care of Gracie. I knew she was loved and enjoyed Elise’s company. Some directions were missed, like how far the litter door should be open were missed, but not the end of the world.”

Van P.
“Van is a phenomenal caregiver. She dutifully took care of her pet Chihuahua Jim, for 7 years after she adopted him from her aunt who could no longer take care of him. I saw the change in her Jim’s demeanor as he warmed up to her and became her dog in a short amount of time. Every time that I was over, she asked if I was interested in walking Jim with her. She was on top of walking, feeding and disciplining Jim throughout his life. Since he passed years ago, she has dedicated time to occasionally dog sitting for her friends, making sure that they are comfortable and happy. Van’s passion in caring for people as a health professional has only deepened her love for animals and she would be a fantastic caregiver to your pet!”

Sara B.Star Sitter
“Sara is one of the most dedicated dog-parents that I know. She treats her dogs with the utmost care and love, and I trust her completely with my animals. Through her own dogs, she has become well-versed in managing dog-reactivity through positive reinforcement training techniques, and she has a clear understanding of dog behavior basics. Dogs (and humans) respond to her bubbly, earnest personality, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a quality dog walker!”

Blue Ridge pet parents share their Rover experiences
Paula was such a lifesaver when I needed last minute petsitting care for my cat! She was extremely responsive, thorough in her visits and easy to work with, especially on such short notice. I also appreciated how sweet she was with my cat who tends to be anxious around new people. Would absolutely work with her again and I couldn't recommend her enough! Thank you Paula!
