Cat Sitting in Birmingham

About: I grew up on a farm with many types of animals and hard work. I have worked in veterinary clinics as a kennel attendant and now a veterinary assistant for over 10 years. I have experience with dogs, cats, and exotic pets. I'm comfortable caring for elderly and sick pets as well as giving medications. I live and work in the Liberty MO area. I am an early morning person and can do early morning drop in visits and walks before 7 am (including weekends and holidays). I typically get my lunch break between 12-2 pm. I can come and do a drop in visit or do a short walk over my break. Evenings are a possibility but are less flexible and open. I can offer enrichment with treats, playtime and exercise. I like a good cuddle session as well as a hyper wrestling match, or active fetch game. I enjoy being out in God's creation and am open to more nature based walks if you have an active curious pup (like my own dog). I think cats should also be enriched and loved. I like playing games with cats and helping them feel comfortable and spoiled. I have owned a lizard of my own and am not afraid of reptiles or rodents. I think exotic pets need enrichment, entertainment, and love as well.

I try not to bog down my pet sitting instructions with every single one of those details, of the things that I do for them. However, my cats are pretty good about asking for what they want and directing people! And Billie Jo speaks and understands their language. She follows all the instructions that I leave and, in addition, the special little requests that the cats make for her… Like turning on the sink to give them a drink because they prefer that over their water bowl.”

I grew up on a nature sanctuary where I learned to care for animals at a very young age. Nothing brings me more happiness than to see an animal thriving in my care. I have walked and cared for dogs as large as Great Danes to as small as chihuahuas. I have owned my own dogs, cats. No animal is beyond my scope of care. I would love to be your go to dog walker and establish a well rounded routine of care. I will come to your place, provide my own leash, treats, and doggy bags, and will walk your dog from half an hour to an hour depending on what you are wanting. Feel free to share the training commands you'd like to work on with your pet and I will try to work them in where I can during my visit. Able to work most visits into my schedule without issue, but if there's a visit that won't work, you'll know as soon as I do so other arrangements can be made Only open to dropping by and house-sitting bookings at the moment because my own dog can be reactive and we currently live with a cat, but I'm a great caretaker and a top choice for my friends when they need a sitter. About: I’ve had dogs all my life and it seemed the family dogs always gravitated toward me. I can’t imagine life without them! I’ve been caring for other’s dogs ever since I got my drivers license. The first dog I watched for a family (a beautiful Alaskan husky) had diabetes and required diabetic shots twice a day. Even though it hurt to have to give him shots, I loved having the opportunity to care for dogs other than my own. Since then I’ve had the opportunity of being the go-to dog watcher for several families with several different dog (and cat) breeds. I will make every effort to give your dog the same care that I was able to give Skyler and the rest of the dogs I’ve had the great fortune of watching and taking care of. There’s not many things that give me more joy than spending time with dogs. Now that I have more time on my hands in my 30’s I have recently gotten connected with volunteering with KC Pet Project. Dogs deserve all the love in the world. I currently work from home Monday and Friday so in addition to the weekend, it opens up availability to be present for the doggie. I’m in the office Tuesday - Thursday but available for morning/evening and quick bathroom breaks over lunch. I have a fenced in backyard and ample space inside the house to make your dog comfortable. I can crate if needed, but also have rooms that can function as “dog” rooms for the periods when I need to leave the house. I have my own Belgian Malinois, who mostly does her own thing. :)

My home looked and smelled clean when we got home from vacation, which never happens. She refilled my auto feeder when it got low and kept on top of the wet food and water refills. She even ran the vacuum and swept up litter kicked out of the box by my crazy young one. 10/10 recommend!”

About: I will treat your pet with the utmost respect and love. No one should have to spend time worrying about their pets when they are on vacation, I send or post regular photos and almost always have my phone with me for any question or concerns you may have. I have spent my whole life with pets, I also volunteer with rescues, drive freedom transports for dogs, and foster when needed. I can take care of most medical needs including some IV fluids (subcutaneous), post-surgical needs and injections if needed.
